Are you running infront of it? lol

How much hp do you have? Laser only does like 2.5-3k damage.
I strangely have same issue with laser and no real lag issues to speak of. People think I'm crazy, but I've been like fucking forever away and gotten hit. I just had to start running and not stop running until it goes off.
No, well, I did once a couple of weeks ago and learned my lesson. Unless his frontal is absurdly huge (like wider than a Dullahan) I never get particularly close. The tanks both stand slightly closer than 180° to each other so I'm fairly confident this isn't it (unless I'm not getting timely updates on ADS's position).
Around 4400, although Blood for Blood doesn't help matters either. I didn't actually think to check the log, and when I've been on BRD (a couple of weeks ago) I'm pretty sure I was having the same problem.
No. Right now I'm not even putting Jump (the ability) into my rotation until I learn ADS's patterns better. No normal jumps, either.
Well this makes me feel a little bit better. I'll try the same thing, and even though that'll be a drop off in DPS, it's still far better than the alternative.
When it begins "casting" Ballast it turns and faces a certain direction. What you can do is move your camera to a birds-eye type view, keep ADS targeted (duh), watch the orange floor marker that indicates what way he is facing, then move where the arrow is pointing before Ballast finishes casting. On a related note, you should move out from in front of him the second the first ring blows up/waves/splashes/vanishes or you will certainly eat a painful cleave.
That said, my group takes the Firestorm/Crossfire/Firestream/WhateverTheFuck route and we all believe it's decidedly easier - even with 2 BRDs having lowered damage.
wrt piercing laser: we actually had one of our bards having the same issue last night, and it's something i've experienced as well when i played bard (though i assume getting insta zapped is something that can happen to anyone).
Most of my group agrees that Piercing Laser has a larger-than-advertised hitbox. Don't just stop on the edge of the red outline, keep moving and as long as you dodge quick you shouldn't get hit by it again.
It's also worth mentioning that Piercing Laser's animation (at least on my screen) never appears to fire where its hitbox indicates. If you look at the hitbox, then look at the animation on the ground, they're usually in two slightly-different locations, almost like it follows the target for a little bit (without updating the hitbox already displayed). I haven't done this enough to make heads or tails of it; just something I noticed. It could be completely benign.
This could be true. Plenty of times I'm half in/half out of the red hit box when tanking with hate not on me. I never bother moving and never seem to get hit with the animation lines being nowhere near me when it fires up.
I always just thought the hit area was smaller than the red box but it's possible that it moves since I'm always on the right side of the hit box and DD's/mages are always on the left so if it had partial tracking that's the direction it would take.
Are people having the same issue with Turn 1's ADS?
Laser (and Titan plumes) I'll sometimes be not-quite-out yet when cast finishes and I still dodge. West coast *shrug*
I hate Ballast so much. mostly because of the AA/Laser/Repelling that follows immediately afterwards
You can sign me up for the "Superior West side" group for Turn 2. So much easier to fight ADS without Ballast fucking up tank rotations.
Is it possible to stack 4 ppl for rot?
Our setup is Pld Pld Whm Sch Brd Brd Drg Mnk
I saw it work a few times but our last run we kept wiping cuz rot kept going off, and I don't understand why.
Use the MNK or the DRG as the one who takes it from #4 to #1 and have them take their time in doing so?
Rot: 15s (must pass before 0)
Immunity: 40s
(if that's wrong correct me; just asked linkshell chat real quick since I don't remember)
Assuming you passed at 3s (so every 12s)
1>2
1 Immunity: 40
2>3
1 Immunity: 28
3>4
1 Immunity: 16
4>1
1 Immunity: 4. wipe
If you passed it at 1s (40/26/12/-2) you could get away with it but that's probably cutting it close, especially in a situation where the next person dodges laser in a different direction or something.
I see. I was under the impression the immunity was 30 seconds, I guess the few times it worked we were pushing it. We'll have to including one of the melee to only dps while he has the immunity on I guess.
