Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced Monday the first indictment has been issued in the special grand jury reviewing whether additional crimes were committed regarding the Steubenville teen rape case.

DeWine said William Rhinaman, 53, of Mingo Junction, was indicted by the grand jury on the following counts: tampering with Evidence, , obstructing justice, obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor and perjury.

The charges against Rhinaman are related to his position as an employee of Steubenville City Schools in the area of information technology.

Attorney General DeWine had the following statement after the indictment was issued.

"This is the first indictment in an ongoing grand jury investigation," he said. "Our goal remains to uncover the truth, and our investigation continues."

Dan Tierney, from the Ohio Attorney General's office says a copy of the indictment is under seal until paperwork regarding Rhinaman's arrest is filed with the county clerk. The Attorney General's Office expects to file that paperwork sometime Tuesday, Oct 8.
