Nice, thank you. I'm browsing over the macros at the first page too, dunno how I completely missed it.
Edit: Another quick question about the mouse overs, does it do the macro when you mouse over their name in party or the actual character?
It works for both
Good news all around for my curiosity on how to be all the SCH I can be, rofl
Random question: Is there any use for Ifrit-Egi?
In theory: yes.
In practice: not really, no.
I've only tried Ifrit-egi on T11 and T13 so far, but I consistently do more DPS with it than Garuda-egi. Even with Raging Strikes, X-Pot of Int, and Poison Pot, Contagion isn't making up for the DPS gap between the two pets. Maybe I'm just bad at Garuda-egi.
I would imagine Ifrit would do pretty well if you had a comp involving both a NIN and a MNK too, since he benefits from both blunt and slashing damage bonuses.
Forgot about that, actually. A 10% boost to all damage would certainly start to tip the scale.
It probably varies depending on the fight, I think T10 and T11 make for good examples of a place where one would outperform the other.
T10 has a lot of adds, which means a lot of time spent on movement for Ifrit and overall less uptime for DK/SE/DE because of the shifting targets, the adds also means more damage potential from Contagion+Bane.
T11 is, for all intents and purposes, a single target fight (there are adds obviously, but you can't use Bane and your pet has no reason to be bouncing between them) where pet movement isn't an issue and DK/SE/DE are going to be up pretty much 24/7.
At the same time tho if you're the only caster you'd probably want to use Garuda for the adds, but idk, I imagine SMN damage is better than BLM damage in the add phase (and the fight in general really) because of all the movement, so for all I know a SMN can bring down the Cube with just their own damage and have Ifrit on the Sphere (we run with a BLM and how quickly the adds die relative to one another can vary quite a bit depending on procs).
I used Ifrit-Egi in T6. Ifrit can get glued to Raflessia the whole time (except for bees, but that's very little movement), Hellfire with Rouse + Spur on Raflessia + a central bulb does a lot, and the MP saved from Contagion (second reason Contagion is so good, other than extended buffed dots) is not an issue in such a short fight. Ifrit did consistently 20-25 DPS more than Garuda, and that was more than I would gain because of extended dots from contagion.
I tried to do the same on T8, as there's very little movement involved too, but I was MP starving even sooner without Contagion, so I resorted back to Garuda there. And of course, in Final Coil, I can't even imagine using Ifrit. I'm already starved enough of MP in T10, can't imagine how bad it will be on later turns.
Looking to get some advice of where to throw my Soldiery for now on SCH. Below is a screenshot of my gear currently. Until the reset tomorrow I have 1300 now to play with. Im not sure if i should get the weapon or the body piece or fill in other areas?
Im currently pushing passed T12 and if we dont get it down this evening we likely will next week.
If you have a realistic chance of lotting weapon then I'd get that over anything else. Anything leftside preferred over anything rightside. Body next probably because it's in one of the later turns.
"later" is an understatement![]()
I never remember which body/leg is in 12/13 for each jerb!
Well i would be solo lotting the SCH Book whenever it dropped but that could be a good few weeks until we down T13. So you think Body would be better? I also co play WhiteMage so might be good to have it for that as well i guess.
I think by lotting weapon he meant the Encrypted Tomestone for the Ironworks Codex of Healing. Tomestone comes from T11 and is i120, then upgrades to i130 with a Carbontwine from T12.
AHh ok yea i get you now. Well i believe there is one more DPS to get the stone so if i had the weapon ready to go over others I would get it without issue im sure.
I would maybe get body then and just get your weapon in 2-3 weeks unless literally nobody else will have 1300 ready after the DPS (or a PLD having 910)
Body for HP, then stack some ACC/VIT right-side melds in there somewhere since SCH DPS can make or break T13.
Thanks guys!
