College assignment: Interview someone that learned English after they were an adult.

I have an assignment to interview a person that learned English as an adult. I do not know anyone IRL that is not a native English speaker. Anyone care to answer the following questions?

Did they begin learning English in a classroom before arriving to the U.S.? Why or why not? If so, how was it different to use the language in the classroom versus in “real life” in the U.S.?

What aspect of English was the most difficult to master?

What was the most frustrating part of learning English?

What was their process for learning English here in the U.S., and what was particularly helpful in this learning process? (i.e. Did they take ESL classes? Practice every day with friends? Read/ listen to English books or T.V./radio?, etc.)
The questions assume that I am speaking to someone that has moved to the U.S. but they can be adapted to wherever you went that required you to learn English.

Humanities assignments that require me to meet new people make it really difficult to stay home and never go anywhere. Good thing the internet and the good people of BG are here to help! Thanks in advance.

I should have known where this thread would go as well, but I need the assignment completed and I'd prefer not to just make shit up. If I do have to make it up I think I will use Ratatapa for the fictitious name. You think the instructor will notice?

Don't let the four words hes successfully strung together below fool you, Rata still barely has any comprehension of the English language.

Did they begin learning English in a classroom before arriving to the U.S.?
    Yes
Why or why not? Its mandatory at school.

If so, how was it different to use the language in the classroom versus in “real life” in the U.S.?
Audio tapes usually use slower pronunciation and therefore are easier to understand, listening and understanding native English speakers is much harder.

What aspect of English was the most difficult to master? The different pronunciations, be it by race or geographical location, its quite hard to make out the words when the speed and accent vary wildly from place to place.

What was the most frustrating part of learning English?

What was their process for learning English here in the U.S., and what was particularly helpful in this learning process?
Practice with my homies at the factory of course ese!

There, let me know if you need me to make up some more bullshit.

Thanks! I'll just make something up for the "most frustrating" question. I will let you know what grade I get on the assignment. I have to turn it in tomorrow and get my grade back on Monday. The whole assignment is to write up a summary of the interview and a reflection of my thoughts on language learning in general as well as turn in a transcript of the interview itself.
