I don't do myth
Gearing a class up to full ilevel 90 is more preparation for whatever content comes after Coil than Coil itself. It will probably be 4-5 months before that content exists so theoretically you should have 2-3 jobs geared up to ilevel 90 by then. But I agree the way it is implemented is retarded. On the other hand I'm not sure I'd want to spam AK 50 times a week to get myth for all my jobs either.
Everything is going into War. If nothing else, he'll be a PVP brick shit-house of burst damage and life-steal.
I'd rather the option to grind out Myths for all the jobs I want to play (on the same character) than the current implementation. I honestly don't really see the crying about grinding the same content for each job to get myths either; you basically had to do the same content to level it and gear it up anyway. Besides, AK isn't the only way to get myths, especially now, and I'd use jobs for different content to cap out in various ways.
I honestly have no clue what to spend my Myth on as I tend to play every job. I basically have 2 weeks right now to pick a main so I can decide an update pattern that doesn't collide with Allagan gear.
AF2 head+body so far, +1 weapon up next.
After those, starting up on PLD gear
At the moment, I'm just spending Mythology on +1ing relics, but the cap is just so bizarre to me. I hate comparing this game to WoW since it is different, but every character had separate caps in that game, I just really don't understand why you have to deal with that cap between all jobs combined in this game. Even if grinding out that 300 cap every week on every single job would get old really fast though, it would still be nice to have the option if I wanted to. >.>
This, once you have reasonable gear you're looking at under 3 hours to "finish" a character for the week. Once you have 1-4 on farm they take an hour, AK/Garuda can finish off your myth in around an hour with a great group, 2 hours at worst. I regret not rolling alts for my MNK and SCH because I can't do shit with them. You're looking at months of time gating bs to gear up one character in BIS, it shouldn't take me a year to gear up my 3 classes. Worse yet is with the development cycle I'll likely never be able to gear up them all properly. The next tier of gear will come out (before I can finish my alts sets) and again I'll only be able to gear up one class at a time and the cycle will continue.
I've been spending my myths on SCH and that's my plan until I'm done with it. Got AF2 head+ body, saving for Relic+1 next.
I have been spending on just PLD but I only plan to buy two more items for it with Myth. Now I am debating if I should go all-in on the redundant tank job WAR or aim higher and gear SMN to be different. Definitely don't wanna divide my efforts between them.
I've been splitting mine between my summoner and paladin, focusing moreso now on my paladin because my LS needed tanks. The low cap on myth is just a crappy way of implementing a time sink until they release more content. It would be nice if the cap was at least 400 then at least you could get one myth piece a week until you bought all the 375 pieces. The way it is now you have wait for a reset to even get one piece of something.
My BRD order wasn't really based off of min/max as much as filling the biggest gaps. I am doing: Feet > Hands > Head > Ring > +1. Darklight and Allagan in other slots. Just me personally.
Basically melee relic+1s give +2 DMG, mage relics give +3, BRD only gets +1.
Compared to other jobs BRD gets by far the least improvement from +1ing their relic, such that certain AF2 pieces can offer a larger improvement.
Relic+1 is the largest improvement for other jobs because nothing compares to DMG value in terms of effective increases in damage/healing but because of how bow DMG values work compared to melee/mage weapons, BRD's lesser DMG bump makes it not as significant.
Although I took all the mage jobs to 50, my "mains" will probably end up being both WHM (primary) and BLM (secondary). Naturally, my first myths will go towards both relics for these jobs, then possibly the rings so I can maximize the gains I'm getting from myths for multiple jobs. I expect by this time I'd be doing things in Coil and be benefiting from Allagan stuff then as I should easily be capped on Darklight after grinding out two relic+1s, perhaps even starting on Darklight for my eventual BRD.
After that, either of the grimoires or some of the BRD pieces I guess.
Since I am gearing two tank jobs, my situation allows for some strange tactics.
I am WAR currently and 2nd job will be PLD, I chose to get gear that both my WAR and PLD will use first, while I pray for some coil drops... which again, both jobs can use. I chose hero ring and hero belt and I hope to get lucky on Allegan body from turn 1. Just picked up an Allegan shield so thats 300 saved.
Plus, my WAR is sitting at 7570 HP without buffs or food, this made Caduceus much more manageable and I did see my HP drop below 200 a few times on our maiden win.
Lastly... as a FFXI Hipster, I can't belive I actually am starting to toss around the idea of rolling a different character to become a DPS... Because I don't see how I can possibly start to think about gearing a different class of armor when I'm gonna want a maxed out tank.
AF2 SCH allagan +DL WHM![]()
I spend them on 2
I have only ever done tanking on here, got full DL for pld (no relic). I had a 48 whm that I just decided to just hit 50 but ended up doing a quick garuda and got weapon so I decided to give it a further shot. I love whm now lol. So much easier than tanking so I'm about to blow some stones on my cure machine
