Yeah I thought that had horrible acc even on xp mobs. SE has a history of making good added effects that never seem to land on anything you'd care about. That said smn can at least up it's pets macc a bit easier than bst. inb4 smns getting hagones for +mab and hagones+1 for pet macc lol
even when it does land it's terrible. 5s maximum duration and costs 3 charges
I want to have some faith in Eerie Eye just because of what goes with it... silence/amnesia- it would basically be a non-stun interrupt. Coming at the same time as Super Yumcax and Super Hurkan. Just sayin'.
Depends on the delay of use, charge time, and accuracy, though. BP timers would make it an impractical way of safely stopping a target from using something over a long period of time, too, so you'd need many SMNs to make it worth doing. I'm trying to find a silver lining, but honestly I don't see Cait Sith making SMN any more viable than it was yesterday.
Oh my gosh, I was re-reading the Japanese thread and came across this:
Which, if google translate is to believed, says:地球破壊爆弾~!ムリか。
I am endlessly amused that the Japanese say 'Murika' too...Earth destruction bomb ~! Murika.
"murika" literally means "Guess it's no use, huh?" (in this case more like "Yeah right").
i want fat chocobo. summon mobile mog house with a 1% chance to instant kill any nearby target by falling on top of them when summoned
i join the drink with your RDM and Tarage SMN with my SCH. Whats worse is being capable of doing other stuff, but being degraded to a Stun bitch hitting the next hooker after the bandwagon full of melee-players hit the station of SCH stun-bitch-whoring, degradeing the jobs name into oblivion....
the fun part about cait sith is... they want to reduce the weakening timers, so it gets even more useless orz....
i mean you cant complain about the BP rage, they are directly taken of the cait sith fight in WotG missions.
But the wards oh god. would have rather seen something like: Protectra VI and Diaga V
...What? That would make it more useful, not less.he fun part about cait sith is... they want to reduce the weakening timers, so it gets even more useless orz....
depends from which point of view you look at it, and how much they reduce weaking timer. in a wipe situation it would be more usefull. in the event of only 1 person dieing... dont know every mage would be faster casting raise then getting cait out and reading the blood pact for raise :/
I'm quite satisfied by Cait Sith if we go by individual pacts.
Regal Scratch - We get our first 3 hit Lv1 Rage BP, which by lv99 is cheap as hell and will be extremely efficient against trash/weaker mobs.
Mewing Lullaby comes across as odd to me because its a Rage as opposed to ward, and doesn't appear by description (or based on the WotG mission battle) to deal damage. The lower TP might be useful - really have to see its potency.
Eerie Eye - same as Mewing Lullaby, strikes me as odd for a Rage BP because all Rage Bps thus far deal direct damage, and all Ward Bps (other than Somnolence) don't. If the Amnesia has a high landing rate or strong potency it might be useful. If it doesn't then hopefully it has a low charge time so that it can be used like a stun. However, given that this is in the Rage category, it becomes far less useful because keeping this BP on standby means you cannot BP Rage for damage.
Level ? Holy - cannot wait for this. hopefully the ? isn't so random and can be pegged to something we can manipulate (in FF6, Lv?Holy was based on last digit of Gil), but if its just a RNG, hopefully the lower end of the range will still deal decent damage. Either way, I think it will replace Thunderspark.
Wards:
Raise II at LEVEL 15. Woot. Can't complain. Hopefully not too expensive. Also very useful because it'll still be max 60s recast even when weakened.
Reraise II at LEVEL 30. Can't complain either. Appears to only be self target tho. but still awesome. hopefully it will have a decent duration.
Altana's Favor: Finally a Ward Astral flow. This is a lot more useful at lower levels because the MP cost is cheaper. Also not bound by Rage timer, so you can use it concurrent with Astral Flow Rage BP if you can pop your ethers or recover MP fast enough.
My main complaint is that Cait Sith isn't that great as a whole. He doesn't have any good Ward/Rage combinations, or any Wards that can actually be used to enhance regular play, which is a pity. However, he'll probably be pretty useful for oshit/wipe recovery situation
I noticed the BP:Rage thing, but my guess is SE intended Caits Wards to be used in emergency situations, and having 2 Unique debuffs attached to :Ward would make the SMN chose between the debuff or raising, which I Imagine is why they opted to make two clearly :ward type abilities into rages. I'd like to hope Lullaby and Eerie eye are usefully accurate, otherwise the entire avatar itself will likely becomes "raise" novelty. I mean both Raise and Reraise are set at subjob level, now if only SMN was a useful sub job that'd be nice.
Also curious if Scratch will even scale well, for all we know it could be balance around doing about the same damage as the other level 1's... Still, 6 BPs total is a bit disappointing, all these years and they added pretty much nothing to him other than converting his BCNM moves into BPs... We don't even get Level 76+ BPs like all other avatars did. Something about this pet seems wildly incomplete and its irking me. All avatars copy their BCNM counterparts as far as TP moves go, but all of them also got new BPs 76+, and the Celestial also got merited BPS which only showed up in later iterations of the fights (WtB).
Wasn't expecting Kamihr Delve this update
