the only thing i can hope for is that this means that future content will be more of a challenge, with neomerits capped and taken into account.
I really don't want to botch the description, but I think Berserk says it's 3 attack per upgrade.
Code:能力値1で物理攻撃力を+3
Yeah pretty much.
so i can either infer (based on my inability to read japanese) that the cap would be 90 attack or 600 attack, right? (#200 probably being the cap of total jp's allowed in storage (lol) and #30 probably being the real cap)
How odd for a JA which increases Attack on a % basis (and its augments also furtherly increase its value on %) to be enhanced with a static amount of attack.
It's all cool, I guess it will be a static amount added after the % calculation?
I would have liked something like reduced cooldown or increased duration more than increased effect tbh, but it's not my intention to look in the mouth of the gift horse.
To be fair, any other way would be a tad bit ridonkulous. Additional % increase would require either really small fractional bonuses per point, or a much smaller cap which could lead to either more grindiness per level or less longevity for the category.
Would've liked to see something like a reduction of the DEF penalty myself
Yeah it says you have to be on the job you want to get job points for, but it also says the monsters have to be lv96+ in order to get capacity points
"Besiegen Spieler im Besitz des Schlüssel-Items „Jobbreaker“ Monster ab Level 96, so erhalten sie zusätzlich zu Erfahrungspunkten noch sogenannte „Kapazitätspunkte“. "
Gear and merits already effect the duration and CD of it, and Conqueror is the only piece of gear to effect it's potency. If they did do duration/recast, we could have Berserk up 100% of the time with current merits/gear, which isn't a bad thing from a sort of stance point of view (zerker or defender), but meh. I wonder if that's just an early glimpse, or if it's going to be a constant work in progress similar to RoE and other systems, or if other augments become unlocked as you progress.
I sense a serious fucking disturbance in the force with all this shit SE has coming out for FFXI now. It feels like they have more than 2 people working on the game again.
That was exactely what I had in mind! :D
I think/hope they're gonna constantly work on the system btw. At least for a while.
It's one of the many reasons to drive people back into doing XP farm, which is something that had almost disappeared until some time ago.
@Byrth
Totally does.
Maybe now that FFXIV launched some of the original FFXI developers which were "lent" to the FFXIV team returned back to the FFXI one?
Or maybe it's just the same two people but focusing on more relevant stuff and handling communication better, I dunno.
Or they could just be announcing everything that's going to be released up until the June update. <__<
Also, I still want merit category caps to be removed... Right now I want to spend at least 16 upgrades in DNC tier 2. It will be even worse after the next update.
I'd like to see a breakdown of the amount/quality of content added over the past year, compared to anytime prior. Maybe it's just that the monthly update deal has been working out well, but for the first time ever in FFXI, I feel almost over burdened with keeping up ingame. In the past, keeping up wasn't so much about doing the content, as there never really was a whole, whole lot to do, was more about getting lucky with your drops or grinding at it slowly to build points. Now, there's just lots on my plate, and for the most part, a lot of it is keeping relevant. Delve for mats/plasm to buy mats/gear for others, SKC for tales to 109 useful AF, mats to 109 it, mats to 119 it, DM/Eald/Kam/AAs for gear, mats for RF, Skirmish v3 to pray for KIs, stones, wings, etc.
The exp grind has been back in the spot light ever since AAs came back, and it hasn't really gone anywhere yet IMO. Content is still wildly successful, if not completely unique. I do hope to see an increase in the max merits, as well as reductions in current KI prices slightly, specially once new BCs are added.
I wonder from a business standpoint, what has changed within SE that has made XI's quality make leaps and bounds forward over the past several months. Did they decide they got everyone they would from XI to XIV, let's improve XI a ton so as to get those who left to return? To keep a rather successful game going til it's dying days instead of focusing so hard on their new pretty baby? It's just been a rather radical shift, and it's kind of shocking to experience it. I'd of expected Tanaka to personally show up at my door step with a bag of shit on fire than to ever see the day XI got the kind of love and development put into it as it has over the past several months. Matsui's the fucking man in my book, dude gets shit done.
I remember your humble request for that on the official forums, all the likes you got from people and... also the official reply.
At this point I don't think it's gonna happen anymore.
And yeah, it's strange. On some jobs you hardly care for merits 'cause either there are just a few good options or they all suck.
For other jobs you'd want them all 5/5. I know I would on DNC for instance.
I second your sentiments on FFXI and Matsui Malithar![]()
I guess this lets us max out all categories instead of being choosy with our points. Due to this there are probably less things to enhance and enhancements are more expensive to upgrade as a result.
I wonder if ff14 lent some staff to ff11. I mean ff14 heavily draws on paying homage to older ff life. Dungeons from previous ff games, music, bosses, weapons, materia system, upcoming addition of good saucer etc. FYI for people who have never played the original FF3 for NES, capacity points were used and consumed when you switched job, and job points are from several ff games with job systems, and were used to level up and advance further in your job(new abilities, traits, spells) vs character level(hp,mp,str etc)
About the "expensive" part, judging by how they handled the merits max cap I'd dare to say that the last upgrades for Job Points category are gonna be very expensive.
Like 29/30, the last upgrade, going to require 200 Job Points maybe? Otherwise they wouldn't have given us a max cap of 200 JP, I think.
That was their reasoning behind the merits cap (30) at least, altough I'm not sure I completely understand the "balance" reasons behind such a choice (or rather I can, maybe, but they seem pretty stupid and, at this point, useless reasons)
It was the other way around.
FFXI team devs were lent to FFXIV, and on that matter a fuckton of other people from other teams were lent to the FFXIV one as well.
But now that FFXIV has successfully relaunched with ARR and they don't need a double team anymore (one to handle the live game, one to work on ARR) I think a big part of those devs returned to their original teams, so maybe the same happened to some FFXI devs as well.
