Ninja got a lot of big upgrades on their reforges so it's not really a good comparison. It's largely dependent on if the piece was useful back at the 99 cap. IIRC the SMN Relic was kinda meh outside of like, the bracers?

I always figured they just wanted it to be a bunch of mix-n-match pieces to give you a bit more flexibility on BP cooldowns. Unsure how much that was needed...?
But yeah, Ninja's been a huge winner with the reforges. Arguably the biggest.
The SMN body isn't mindblowing and probably won't be fantastic for BPs (although it's likely closer than you might think for physical ones), but it is a unique macro piece that dedicated SMNs will have to get. Also, it's currently the best pet TP body by a substantial amount, I think?
So noticed something interesting looking thru the jp dev notes. Where we have 2 pages of stats for smn body and 3 for nin they fit all them into 1 each for the jp version... is this similar with other gear? They scrunch it all in for the jps?
Because the Japanese language is less character intensive? For example, Magic Evasion can be expressed with 3 characters. It's been like that since NES days lol. Funny how they still have to deal with it so many years on
Probably. Also there is no spacing between the cahracters not that that would make much of a difference in the english version. Though I wonder why they don't just abbreviate like they used to. I mean do you really need to write out magic def. bonus each time which already has an abbreviation in it anyways lol?
I am rather curious about the nin one... will it really have 2 pages with only 1 thing on them after the main stat one?
SMN legs might get BPII-1 too in the +1 version.
I dunno about nin. Both Mochizuki and Hachiya look like nice sets, but there's quite a bit of redundance there (looking at you, legs and body!)
Body Wise did anybody math out Hachiya+1 vs Mochizuki+1? I kinda like Mochizuki more, in spite of the one less DW value.
Of course the right answer here would be "get both!" and I already have Hachiya, but I kinda regret it.
Yeah I got the Hachiya Body and Legs +1 as well. I imagine Hachiya Body will outdo Mochizuki Body a little when you have 0 buffs, but all things considered you'll almost always be using Mochizuki (or Thaumas if you have lots of buffs). Mochizuki Legs are obviously better than the Hachiya Legs with few buffs but since the Hachiya Legs have accuracy and DW on them they're useful too. If I was to only get one it'd definitely be the Mochizuki ones since there's all kinds of ways to build sets for alternate amounts of haste, though.
Yeah and let's not forget we're gonna get Reforged Empy soon.
Body will likely be best WS option (at least) and legs might be a nice TP piece for when you're buffed (i.e. diminished returns from DW).
How much DW do you need to reach attack speed cap without buffs? With an enhanced DW on reforged empy head we might get there I think.
How do you order from Amazon.co.jp? My normal Amazon account (which works on all other Amazon sites I ever bought from) doesn't work on the co.jp, I cannot login
The SMN body looks great, obviously it's not a bloodpact piece, it's for idling with avatar out and pre-bloodpact readying (and then switching to Convoker's doublet +1)
I made an account on Amazon.co.jp quite a while ago, I think it may even have been when I was living in Japan for a time (summer of '99). I'm not sure when most of the international Amazon sites merged their databases, but I know that originally I had a separate account on .co.jp and .co.uk. I think the Japan account is still separate, because the credit cards I registered on .com do not show up on .co.jp unless I add them, while .co.uk is able to pull my updated payment information from .com. You should be able to make a new account (there is an option to turn the account page into English), but they do have shipping restrictions that still might not let you ship something to certain areas. I'm currently living in Korea, and not long ago ordered a bunch of manga from .co.jp that shipped here just fine. DVDs & games I think cannot ship outside Japan, and some other items, but I've yet to find any books that weren't allowed to ship here. Amazon.com and .co.uk both have been able to send books to me here as well, but a fair number of other items were restricted.
Ok, tl;dr I can't order from them unless I mane an account on their website and it's not going to happen since I don't speak japanese and I don't wanna mess with autotranslates.
Other websites selling that thing? Anybody know any site? I found it on ebay but the price is 6x the amount I'd pay it on Amazon, which is retarded, not giving them my money.
You ought to be able to change most of the site into English just by clicking the "In English" link near the top of the page. The menus will be very similar to the .com and other Amazon sites, and then you can make an account. Item information pages will still probably be in Japanese, but all the account and shopping cart menus should be in English. The tribune book is still on preorder, not going to ship until March 26th. I just preordered 4 copies, plan to keep 1-2 to use the codes for my own accounts, and then I can sell the others. I wouldn't do as much of a markup as eBay does, since that's ridonculous, but I would need to charge a bit for shipping. I'll figure out how much more I'd need to add as soon as it ships, since the price may yet change before they actually send it. Right now my order shows about $20 for shipping of the 4 books and close to $30 for import fees (Korean customs forces them to charge this, but I usually get a refund of about half of it a few months later).
The site I used to order japanese games from was cdjapan, but it appears the domain is now for sale so I'm not sure which other sites might have it... Maybe http://www.play-asia.com/, but I don't see this book listed there yet...
edit: http://www.play-asia.com/final-fanta...n-70-7imj.html Found it! Showing the KRW price to me, so I'm not sure how much they're asking in USD...
<== Sechs is a douche.
Thanks Maacha!
It's listed as $55.99 USD, didn't want to register to check the shipping. Maybe I'll look into it once it's released and you can give us some details about it Maacha. If there's a fair amount of art, I'd be interested, but not knowing any Japanese, mostly text would be a hell of a turn off. Look forward to seeing you idle in your pen polearm though.![]()
I ordered both books.
The Ten years collection and the vana'diel tribune one.
57€ for both books, not including custom taxes of course.
Excited! Been wanting a new FFXI book since when I got my hands on the original World Concept one (which was awesome, btw)
