    Judging from the fact that the RUN sword showed in that page is different from the one showed in SE official POL news we should come to the conclusion that there's gonna be MULTIPLE Job Specific weapons?
    Or maybe one is the JS gsword and the other is a drop from Ouryu/Tenzen?

    Google translate has the 2nd set of weapons as mythic equivalents. Need someone who reads moon runes to do that dagger!

    Dmg:102, Delay:200, AGI+10, Evasion+22, Dagger/Parrying Skill+242, M.Acc skill+188, Enmity-10, WSD+5%, TH+1


    Also if I'm reading it right, the second GSword and the Club are the actual RUN/GEO REM-equivalents, won't be made the same way as others', and are to be added in May; this first set of weapons in the April update isn't meant to be at that level.

    Nice. Gessho hard mode should be pretty interesting. Guess we'll be seeing spitewardens and stuff next since they seem to be doing hard mode BCs on a by-expansion basis.

    I made this post on the official forums a little while back, when i read about the announced new weapons.

    Anywho, new Weapons/shield/etc Job specific stuff being added soon. I'm just going to sit my guess here and suspect the THF weapon will have glorious amounts of AGI, Evasion, and Probably Treasure Hunter. Cause if it was useful FFXI would collapse in itself and die. Double so if the item has TH on it.
    I'm absolutely disgusted that my blind shot pessimistic "worst case scenario" stat guessing was 100% spot on to the letter.

    There have been weapons with WSD and crit rate that applied to both hands, it would need to be tested.

    The only ones i can think of when it came to WSD in offhand were Magian weapons, and they were uniquely so, as even the TP Bonus worked offhand. Still I like your optimism... but whats really eating me is I'm still upset at the fact 2 or 3 years of threads on the official forums spelling out how stupid a stat like TH attached to a weapon is and needing it to be replaced by an accessory or such, and they give us another Thief's knife, complete with "as absolutely useless as humanly possible while still being I.lv119".

    Tbh with the cap incoming, I'm not sure that's gonna matter anymore.
    The CAP will be 8 or whatever it is. They're gonna give you more items with TH+ on it, let's imagine for instance, a TH+3 legs, or TH+2 reforged Empy feet.
    You get 3 from Traits, and the remaining 5 from wherever you want. Be it weapons, ammo, legs, hands... whatever. Adding more after that would be useful, so users will be able to pick the ones they like and still reach the cap while having the freedom of customizing their slots.

    This will be possible in the (near?) future when more TH gear will be added.
    In this scenario I don't think an ilevel TH+ weapons is anything we can whine about, and it looks like a good solution to replace Thief's Knife to me.


    P.S.
    I would have prefered an "TH scales with Main hand weapon" similar to Macc etc, but I can't say the above solution is bad.

    A good solution to replacing THF knife would have been an accessory or other non-tp-removing item that had TH+1 instead of a weapon. Without the incoming cap, there would have been the need for it being a LAtent effect only available wen THF knife is not equipped, but with the current cap being 8, you can reach that right now with Base(3), Belt, Feet, Gloves, Knife(old), so the new Knife didn't need TH on it, and I'd of rather it been a useful weapon.

    While its a nice I.lv upgrade for THF, its still painfully terrible compared to other dagger options, which is the core of the issue when it comes to a TH+1 related weapon. I'm happy I have the option to get TH8 without using the 70 Knife, Its a positive step, just the worst possible positive step. Yes, Its an upgrade to THF's knife, but in the stupidest possible way they could have implemented it.

    I definitely would of liked if they spent time making the weapon reasonably useful than making it just an upgrade to Thief's knife, because looking at it, its absolutely useless for everything... except the TH on it, and that makes a bad weapon, but its a net positive, regardless. Yay.

    But still, you can't say this is *not* a solution.
    It's something nobody in that thread (putting a cap on TH gear) thought of, as far as I can remember.
    Once you're gonna a possible max +TH from gear of, like, 15, and the bonus "caps" at 8, of course you're going to equip only pieces which you like or that suit your builds someway, since there would be no reason in equipping more than that.
    And once you achieve this, why should anybody bothere using a Thief's Knife?
    So this is a solution, imho.
    Well, on the long run at least. For now it's not because we still lack a lot of this "more TH gear" they promised us.
    If they keep their promise, this will be an original and efficient solution, imho.


    Btw, do we have a definitive and correct translation of the stats on that dagger? Aside from the TH+1 I mean.
    Can we use the data priran posted?
    If and I say IF the WSD bonus works offhand (which I'm kinda leaning to think it won't, but one man can hope, no?) it looks like a nice dagger, the only bad part would be the high delay (for an offhand, at least.)
    Or am I missing something?

    Nerfing is something hard to handle for developers.
    If you make a big nerf to Alexandrites, say 30k to 5k, then people who are about to complete or already completed their mythic might (rightfully) go crazy "Omg I worked so hard for mine, omg omg now every douche is gonna have one it won't be special anymore, FU SE /quitgame" etc.
    If you don't "omg it's too hard to get one I hate you SE I have to work and to care for my wife and children I can't make a Mythic unless I fishbot everyday with 5 accounts, I hate you! /quitgame".

    I'm sure something CAN be done and I agree something SHOULD be done, but it's very easy to make a single step in the wrong direction and create a huge mess, for one reason or another.

    May appears to be the next major version update.

    Gessho / Lancelord high lvl battlefield, SoA missions, RUN/GEO's mythic equivalent (phew at least the vagina swords wont be that common i hope), expansion of job points and 12th anniversary event.

    Upcoming TH cap? TH from gear is already capped at +8, so not sure what you guys are talking about.
