    I'm not sure why people are still clamoring for mythic nerfs. They've done nothing but make mythics easier and easier - especially recently with the single entry Salvage and NM repop time. Or, in general, the level cap raise and all the iLvl gear that makes everything a joke to solo. I keep finding the people I know who complain about mythics being ridiculous always cling to one thing but when it gets nerfed they just say it's something else holding them back.

    Based on the revealed stats, I'm assuming they want these to be more accessible than an empyrean weapon. Since it's from Oboro, I wonder if this will be their way of making plutons, beitetsu, and riftborn boulders relevant outside of RME upgrades.

    Well not sure I'd really call it that unique given just how unique wsd on weapons are... I mean outside of the magians which do I can't think of any other weapons that give straight up wsd besides the new skirmish ones which I think are still untested. rems give it for a specific ws and don't. The augmented weapons from abyssea also gave for a specific ws and those worked off hand. Then there are the assualt weapons which were sorta like gorgets for the weapon and they have no clear pattern that I could ever discern. iirc some worked offhand and main hand. Some never worked at all. I think the ranged ones only worked on melee ws or something weird like that. I'd have to go back and check them but yeah they were super weird like that.

    I'm gonna be sad at the huge amount of Riftborn Boulders and Beitetsus I trashed! But it would surely make sense, given that they drop practically from everywhere.

    I still... dunno, I still get mixed feelings about adding a fourth "ultimate weapon" category after the mess they went through to make so other weapons can be relevant and wanted as well.
    I guess if they play their cards right it could be cool, but I'm scared at the idea of going to the pre-SoA situation honestly

    Can't remember where I saw it, but the following makes alot of sense. Wanna fix alex? Add to ZNM's. Tier 1 and 2 make up to 3-5 singles drop. Tier 3 chance at cotten coin pouch. Tier 4 guaranteed cotten, chance at another. PW guaranteed Linen, chance at cotten. Aside from PW's already huge pool, that right there would drop oodles of alex on the market. It's still 303 stacks of them needed, but now you can work on it somewhere else besides requireing tags or some such.

    Of course, this would have been better in 2008, when the ZNM's were at least moderately difficult. Now? Meh, prolly too much but fuck it. You can farm a relic in 3 months w/o paying a dime.

    This isn't a bad idea, but lets assume:
    1) Pandemonium Warden drops 87 Alexandrite on average (100% Linen + 90% cotton).
    2) Every Tier 4 could drop 20 Alexandrite (1.75 Cottons).
    3) Every Tier 3 would drop 12 Alexandrite (1 cotton).
    2) Every Tier 1/2 would drop 4 Alexandrite.
    Every PW requires 18 Tier 1/2s, 6 Tier 3s, 3 Tier 4s, and 1 PW. That works out to 255 Alexandrite per PW. FFXIDB has logged 1579 PW kills since it was turned on, which would be about 400k Alexandrite from that source (or about 13 more Mythics across all servers).

    Would it help? Yeah, sure. Is it significant? Well... 255 Alexandrite is 2-3 runs of Salvage, so not really. If they added a guaranteed cotton pouch to assault loot boxes, I think it would have a larger overall impact on the Alexandrite creation. I think people would go take half an hour to solo easy Assaults 5 times once a week for 5 cotton pouches. In an ideal world, SE would do both. Realistically, they'll probably do neither.

    If you've been turning in Alex as you get it, you're a fool. God forbid you got banned at the 28k mark, or you change your mind, or a patch happens turning X good weapon to garbage, or X garbage weapon to good (Tsupimanti).

    its much easier to go make 2 new quests then going to alter Nyzul isle, all the quest npcs for mythic, ws additions with trial weapons, magian moogle altering etc. i think its 2 new quests that will need alot of adoulin stuff. Its mythic equivalent that doesnt mean it will have to do anythinh with ToAU questline

    If you get banned, that alex and/or gil is gone either way, so why does it matter? <_<

    (That said, yeah, when I did my mythic I didn't turn any of it in until I had all 30k)

    Guildwork is the one collecting data for ffxidb, and the answer is that I'm not sure.

    There have been:
    * 1.4 million Alexandrite direct drops
    * 120,000 Cotton coin purses (1.5 million Alexandrite)
    * 63,000 Linen coin purses (4.7 million Alexandrite)
    to people running Guildwork (7.6 million Alexandrite total), if you want perspective.

    Assuming it didn't change the number of people doing ZNMs, the proposed system would have generated about a 5% increase in Alexandrite supply. Realistically a few people probably would have done ZNMs for Alexandrite (until they realized what a terrible idea it was) and maybe you would have gotten a little more than that.

    Unless you have friends who you can use to tranfer it around, you'd probably have a second POLID? How many people here DONT have a second polid?

    *raises hand* And yeah, I had friends help me transfer it off/on my mule. From the people I know, it's maybe 50/50 as to whether someone has a second POL account or not.

    I still don't get it. How can you transfer it if you are banned? Or do you mean if you normally store it on one ID and get banned on the other? Also doesn't SE tend to ban all characters with the same CC info?

    I dont think all chars get banned. How many stories have there been where one persons LS bank mule got banned, and no one else?

    Either way, the other two points stand: what if you change your mind (something better comes out in general), or the utility tier among weapons changes? Foolish to turn em in before you're at 30k.

    I'm 90% certain that monster terror is very different from player terror and isn't resistable by those means. Being able to resist petrify will be nice though, as that can be annoying even with people quickly removing it.

    I've seen people talk about RUN resisting ADL terror. Haven't personally verified, but if true, don't see why Wyrm terror would be any different.
