LS mate and I were talking about very same thing. How similar the layout of Adoulin and Whitegate content is.
Assaults = Assignments (It encompasses both non-battle and aggressive tasks)
Einharjar = Delve
Nyzul = Skirmish
Not sure what can be related to Reives (Colo and WKR), but we considered Reives to be more similar to Campaign modes, specifically Fortifications and Campaign BCNMs (Splitting Heirs, Plucking Wings and Cracking Shells)
In regards to currency system, you're absolutely right. They are there, and they are there for a reason imo too. Example, why would you need 99999 cap of obsidian fragments? Don't think anyone at this point has accumulated that many.
Furthermore, the storyline itself is very similar in some aspects. You have younger female sibling who's the key to progression of the plot. You have older brother in trouble. You have an empire divided (CORs vs BLU)(Pro and Anti-expansion.) Ancient King that's tied to possibly a cashe of legendary weapons (he traveled with 12 generals loyal to him, we have 14 weapons, if you combine Bow/Gun and Harp/Horn). And then you have a roaming Beast (Odin < > Dragon).
if they were going to use obsidian fragments to make some kind of soa mythic then you wouldn't be able to get obsidian with copper vouchers, like how you can't get tokens or ichor with them
the cap is that "high" because wailing +2s are that expensive to buy with obsidian. they're 40k each.
its easy to cap fragments trading in +1 or +2 stones you get from any skirmish run, straight to the fragments npc. can probably buy capped fragments(via AH stones) with a reasonable amount of gil, but unless capping them is the goal itself, or there is something like say, Fragment book 1, Fragment book 2, ect ect that cost 99999 fragments each, this would be a terrible idea, obviously lol. i trade my +nq+2 ghastly and verd nq-+2's in to this npc. usually not +2's but somtimes itll put me over the 40k mark to get a "free" +2 wailing so its worth it for immediate gambling.
What's this story of Jettatura ignoring resist? Is it a new bug or something? Back when I was hardcore dynamising with my FaithfulFalcorr in Dyna Valk Jettatura would miss quite a lot of times.
Did you read what we were talking about? We were talking about monster sources of terror, so jug Jettatura doesn't qualify.
When I said monster, I meant enemy monster, not jugs. I was unclear.
i am hopeing for those legendary items to not follow the the REM weapon category model. weapons/shield/ammo for jobs with very unique effects. example:
- a shield for whm/rdm/sch/brd that has cure potency going over cap, extends enhancing magic duration by 50% and adds some bonus to its potency
- a greatsword for pld that swaps the end value of defends and VIT with STR and attack (via a job trait). (constant "berserk" with defender, 50% mote attack wirh cocoonetc.)
- an axe for rng that gives excellent stats for ranged attacks and adds a job ability that lets you deal crit dmg during ws
- a shuriken satchet for NIN (ammo) that gives an unlimited amount of shurikens with excellent base dmg and stats for r.acc and r.atk. adds a unique throwing weaponskill.
- a jug for BST that gives unlimited caped pets, the type of the called pet can be determend by synergizing an old jug with this one giving it an augment. with a job trait that gives the pet all BST SJ traits and the BST all pet SJ Traits, while the pet is out
the list goes on a xbow for thf, an ammo tathlum for blm, a unique avatar satchet for smn, a grip/ammo for melees etc
this are just ideas but i really hope the new legendary weapons/items wont follow the REM path. giving different slots/types of weapons wouldnt make them useless/weak against REMs, like an addition not a replacement
The blu one can be another chakram with no native throwing skill.
There's 67 non-all jobs shields that drk can equip, despite having no skill.
I'd settle for things that are useful tbh. One chakram serves the purpose of all chakrams for BLU, what would we get? 10 blue magic skill? FUck all that. If I'm getting something that isn't a sword, at least make it a club.
I want a visor that lets me shoot lasers out of my eyes. Because that's just as likely as any of those things listed.
What, you mean 50% attack with no tradeoff isn't something that would ever happen? Bollocks, I say sir. Utter bollocks.
They are normal ilvl119 weapons more interested in what will have the shield than others weapons... And their look too...
They already gave an example with thf dagger... A normal 119 dagger with TH+1
REMs are "unique" mostly coz their aftermath and ws, mythic practically are the "only ones" that enhances some JA/JT, relics have their occ x damage, and empy... Well aftermath and some have good ws too...
Continuing the Jettatura/terror discussion, I did a very brief test on RUN.
Grauberg Hippogryphs .409 earth resist+326 magic evasion and a 500 skill bar petrify. Terror landed for 16 sec duration 4/4 times.
Tiny sample, I know, but still. If I can't reliably resist a lvl 73~75 mob, at lvl 99 with +735 total resistance then something is weird.Code:[12:28:50]The Grauberg Hippogryph readies Jettatura. [12:29:06]Martel is no longer terrorized. [12:38:11]The Grauberg Hippogryph readies Jettatura. [12:38:27]Martel is no longer terrorized. [12:39:15]The Grauberg Hippogryph readies Jettatura. [12:39:32]Martel is no longer terrorized. [12:44:04]The Grauberg Hippogryph readies Jettatura. [12:44:20]Martel is no longer terrorized.
Either mob used Jettatura doesn't have a resist check, like mentioned. Or the element when used by mobs differs from the player used version, AND it has crazy resist states/M.ACC(like, more than stun.)
But seriously SE... That's just cheap. I wonder how many terror moves share this property. Seems like Absolute terror at least.
I'm guessing every single monster terror TP move has infallible accuracy. Like I said, they probably only made player versions share Break's resistance mechanics as to not make it too powerful (imagine Absolute Terror landing at maximum, unfettered duration for an entire Unbridled Wisdom; would be able to lock a mob for a minute+ and it wouldn't be able to do anything about it). They were just too lazy to make a whole new set of unique resistance mechanics.
Best way to tell if it's truly irresistible would be checking hippogryphs in Riverne, probably.
As far as the accuracy of the ones landing perhaps it's not so much as 100% land rate so much as a very low possibly 0% chance to fully resist. Like it goes thru the normal meva/macc, resist rate/state checks and then just converts all the full resist to half (very similar to stymie spells). Notice all 4 of those are abou 16-17 sec durations... and while I don't really recall the full duration for hippos I know other forms are more like 30 seconds. Then after that resist traits are factored in but since there is no resist terror trait (at least for players) there is nothing to give you resists that by pass the calcs except thru the few peices of gear that do and maybe weird stuff like fealty/whm sp2
