no double XP annoys me. infinitely more useful than double CP, mostly because who gives a fuck about CP in its current state

I can't wait to see the pie chart of Job Points where like, 90%+ is "haven't done this yet" with 1% satisfied, and Matsui's response is "Oh, we wished more people would do this, moving forward, we'll be balancing it more and hope players will enjoy it." Because it apparently takes months on end for them to realize when a flawed system is flawed instead of 1 week in seeing the overwhelming responses and figuring "Hey, yeah, let's tweak this now".
Nope, let's do a double exp campaign but half ass it, and we hope this solves the problem.
I'm still waiting for them to stop telling us Stymie is good
I'm sorry. I wasn't attempting to troll you or to show how "clever" I am (I'm not).
I apologized, I didn't want to give that impression but when I realized that such a common sentence overhere is nowhere as common outside my country's borders it was too late.
Not sure what you meant here, maybe I misunderstood you.
Of course having someone who knows how to play their job, wether with good or average gear, is going to make a positive difference for the run, but SCH is a much more vital role for a run like Tojil.
And MNK for instance, is probably one of the easiest melee to play. There is a wide margin for errors whereas for SCH (unless you use a stunbot, I guess?) there is much less and the "gear check" requirements look more strict to me.
I mean that there are less chances for an average MNK to do a terribad job than there are for a SCH. Or am I wrong?
To continue on what was being said before: I can see a run with average DDs being successful, or having way more chances to succeed. Can't say the same about the run with an average SCH, way less chances for that to happen, if any at all actually.
On another note:
/creamsWe are planning on increasing merit point category caps in the June updates. Rather than being an increase in level cap for each merit, we are considering increasing the category caps. We are also discussing increasing the merit points a player can hold.
Wasn't Byrth advocating something like this for quite a long time on the official forums, obtaining a huge amount of forum likes?
Being able to go something like 15 upgrades in merit category #2 makes me really cream. Well, for some jobs at least.
I still don't get their attitude of being so adamand concerning WS.
Would it really be so bad/gamebreaking to make the category cap at, say, 30 upgrades instead than the current 25? I really don't get it.
The 1merit change they mentioned sure was nice but it didn't really change much to me. The ability to unlock Empy WS for instance was much more effective in that regard.
Or maybe it's just me who's being OCD about getting 5/5 in WS?
Well if they:
1) Double/triple the rate of CP
2) Put CP chains or some similar mechanism
3) Make so you can get CP from RoE, Reives, Assignments and Voidwatch
4) Put JP upgrades which really matter, while not exceeding in the opposite direction and making them too powerful/useful
If this happens (I wanna see the glass half full and believe something is gonna happen around may/june) then the system will be in a much better place.
Point 4 seems mostly already done as far as we could see from the video.
Point 3 they mentioned they are working on it, except VW at least.
I think VW would be beneficial because it would give further motivation (in addition to quick XP gain and Reforged Relic materials) to do VW, and that would bring more people to do it, hence bringing more materials (for Relics, for Empys etc) on the market.
That would benefit all of us and the game as a whole, imho.
(Allowing us to buy stuff with Cruor, à la Delve, using Periapts or Atmas as KI-checker, would be another nice addition but as much as I'd love it I doubt it's gonna happen)
I doubt it's gonna happen. Some people have hoarded way too much Cruor, they're worried about that. Take me, I'm not a hoarder and I've spent billions on upgrading Atmacites, and I have like 8 mils Cruor? If that's what an average non-hoarder highlyspender player has, I cannot imagine what a Cruor hardcore can have. Like over 50mils?
To avoid that they would need to put insanely high prices (which would be negative for everybody else) or... I dunno what else, maybe put a weekly cap on the amount of stuff you can buy with Cruor, similar to how there was a cap of 5 for those VW weakening items.
No clue how feasible it is for them to go this way. I mean, it sure is possible, but maybe it's something overly complicated, who knows /shrugs
But yeah, giving more value to Cruor someway (what I wrote above is just one of many possibilities I suppose) would be very beneficial to the game and the player base, hope they're gonna do something about it.
Sadly the same, even if to a much smaller degree of course, goes for Bayld.
Compared to how useful/sought after it was on the first months of the expansion release, it's a shame that there's hardly anything worth to do with Bayld, especially because majority of people end up with a lot of bayld without even wanting to farm it. I have like... what? 1,5m Bayld? And I never farmed it on purpose, it just came by as a byproduct of other activities I was doing for other goals.
JP dev summary of the video. There will be another video in early May. Hard mode ToAU BC next update. Not sure which, and probably another one as well.
Interesting Run/Geo will be receiving a new ws to go with their mythic equivalent and apparently Goblin, Moogle, and Aldo are our next trust npcs.
They really need to add xp/cp gain to Delve 1.0 and Yorcia skirmish.
I is excite if really everything makes it into the may update, incomeing crit hit GSW WS!
sneak peak for may
Job Points:
-New Categories
-CP will now have Chain Bonus
-Enemies from certain events like Skirmish 1, Skirmish 3, and Delve will give CP
New High Level Mission BF:
-Legacy of the Lost Hard Mode
-Another to-be-announced Hard Mode
Special Bag For Equipment:
-A bag from which gear can be directly equipped from is planned to be implemented
Mythics for RUN and GEO:
-Along with these, job-specific WSs
I'm really surprised that special bag is planned to come out as soon as it is. Not going to complain though. These past few months have been really great for XI IMO. Shame I haven't had much time to play, lots of stuff I haven't dug into still.
So the description of the new shield sounds kinda awesome. Unless you fighting lvl 126 things that kill your blockrate
Fuck yes, I can finally have the MND merits I so desire.
