    I remember a similar situation in the description of Merit WS.

    Some of the old WS with special effects (ignore defense etc) which weren't used for obvious reasons, now might get situationally interesting again.
    Or for instance use a WS with an accuracy bonus TP modifier instead of your normal WS in situations where you need acc, etc.
    Kinda sad they didn't remove the attack penalty on Blade: Shun
    Wonder how Blade: Ku will perform now compared to the currently best options: Blade: Hi and Blade: Shun.
    In the small tests I did with these 2 WSs, the former is better in almost every situation (but not all), granted that it's a small difference with 5/5.
    Hi has a lot of fluctuation (high/low) in damage though, whereas Shun produces more similar/stable numbers.

    Am I wrong in saying many of the merit WS are now even more unnecessary?

    What's happening to the old YGK ws of Sam? G becoming useful again?

    It's possible, "2倍撃" (literally translated more as "Double-Hit") has been used for WS in one of 3 cases:
    1. x-tuple damage
    2. Doubled attack
    3. Twofold Attack
    Most fall into the first category. The second category consists of one WS (Viper Bite).

    They specifically say, "初段のダメージのみ2倍撃", which is, "First Hit's Damage Only: Double-Hit", though, so I think it's actually damage.

    Was thinking it just means it's going to function like Viper Bite, doubled attack for the first hit.

    Well, you have to remember that SE is also supposed to be changing TP gain equations this update. Individual WS damage might have gone up, but it's unclear that our DPS will rise.

    Mercy Stroke just got straight buffed, 60% STR -> 80% STR. o.O But what's this note on Exenterator? Twofold attack for the first stage only Does that mean it's it's only going to be a 2-hit WS after the update, instead of 4?

    I may wanna pick up Rudra's Storm as well and play with it vs Evisceration too. 80% DEX mod sounds kinda tasty.

    No. It doesn't look like SE is including Alpha in these calculations.

    It's fine really, it already does decent damage in Delve and still gets the ilvl boost now.

    iirc can't we use Uriel Blade as well, abeit only with one specific shitty campaign weapon equipped, but we can still use it.

    Some of the weapon skills which didn't receive a bonus may have had their attack penalties removed. Penta thrust and Drakesbane attribute modifiers were untouched which is suspicious, not sure if other attack penalty mod ws were untouched too but seems suspect. Relic ws modifiers look acceptable now as most of them are affected by a job's secondary/alternative stat like Dex or Vit(except War and Sam which get fucking str)

    60% str and vit will make it pretty fucking good when Unbuffed. The fact that it ignores some defense(fancy way of saying attack boost) means it might overtake stardiver when you're solo or songs drop. To put it in perspective, it's stronger than tachi fudo was since fudo was just 60% str 3.0 and camlann is 3.0 60%/60% but also with attack bonus.

    considering that most mobs resust darknness dmg the modifier on laeden is justified, where as there are little mobs that resist fire dmg and some even take double dmg from it (umbrils and acuex for example)

    surprised that metatron only got a wsmod buff and nothing else compared to ukon
