    Ok so two different caps.
I never knew the 75 delay minimum one existed, I only new the 80% haste/delay one.

That would mean a weapon like hornetneedle would cap at 50% delay reduction instead of 80%. Seems like it would be easy enough to test if that's true.

So I get from your post that nobody knew about this either?
But realistically it's not gonna have any impact at all on dualwielding jobs.
It's gonna have an impact on singlewielding jobs but... are there any lol? Like a singlewielding RDM or a singlewielding BRD, or even a singlewielding BST lol
For those jobs, supposing a not very realistical situation where they can reach 80% haste cap (78,7) they would get reduced return because of the min 75 delay cap.
    What a big difference! /sarcasm

    Or am I missing something?

actually, if it's true that min delay is 75, then any weapon with a delay of less than 375 isn't able to get full use of the 80% delay reduction cap. This would includes dual wielding two daggers with 183 delays, etc.

Yeah but I was trying to be realistic.
Which dualwieldable realsitic dagger options are there with 186 delay?
And even with 372 combined delay (186x2), 80% of that would be 74 delay, which would be instead capped at 75 because of the cap, so meh... really no big deal.

For singlewielding instead there could be some more noticeable differences but I don't really see those jobs in any situation where they would get close to 80% delay reduction so, again, no big deal.

Well eminent dagger has 183 delay, twashtar has 176 etc. I donno if there's any optimal sets with combined delay of less than 375 but it's certainly possible with current item level weapons. And like you said the difference isn't huge so it's not a big deal. But it's interesting we never knew about it before if it's true that the min delay cap is 75.

Do you really see someone with a 119 Twashtar offhanding an Eminent Dagger in a situation where he's getting ~80% haste? And even in such a situation it would be 75 instead of 72, not really that much of a difference.
Unless they meant 75 cap PER WEAPON... and if that's what they meant ungh, it would be quite a noticeable difference even for dualwielding jobs.

I don't know what to say. In our formulae we always used "combined delay" of both weapons. What if we're doing it wrong and the game actually calculates it in a different way that takes into consideration the separate delay of each weapon and each has a low cap of 75 delay?

Imagine someone really into a dagger based job would of noticed this at some point, like Byrth.

A single wielding job that'd be affected by this that's actually really common is Pld, although they're not exactly known for their blistering DPS. They'd be missing a hair over 1/3rd a sec swing time.

People would definitely have noticed if it was 75 per weapon, that would mean a 150 delay min with dual wield. Meanwhile a 450 delay gkt can hit 90 delay. I think it's just 75 total delay and no one ever noticed because it's such a tiny difference in the rare situations where delay would hit less than 75 delay with 80% reduction. Either that or it's just a massive translation error on Camate's part.

75 on each weapon would be a pretty noticeable difference so yeah, I'm leaning to think someone would have noticed it by now.
As for the translation error... let's summon Kincard and let's see the JP post! xD

    @Malithar
Didn't think about PLD. But as you said, they're not really a DPS machine and honesly I don't see them realistically reaching 80% cap. They have no form of JA haste, without a DNC in alliance they'd be stuck at ~69% haste. So even in those situations where they reach max magic haste (marches, Haste and/or embrava etc) they wouldn't really get close to the 75 cap, would they?
So once again IF what Camate said is correct, the 75 delay cap has such a little relevance (hardly any) that it would explain why nobody ever noticed it until now.

Yeah they won't, occurred to me after I said it lol. Maybe Geo-Haste will be JA haste? ;P

So wait...we get all BC's reduced to 10 merits...then add more that are 20 merits?

I think falls pretty well in line with introducing new things that are harder/more gated, while making older content easier to access as time passes.

Just be glad they are making it cost more merits instead of timegating you. Everytime they introduce hard content in 14 you are restricted to one drop per week or one success per week.

I agree, but there's something to be said for the criticism that you can do one of the established BCs twice for each time you do a new one.

then wait 1-2 updates until they are at 10 merits to per fight, whats the big deal

That would only matter if the new fights didn't have unique drops. New high-tier mission battles will continue to cost more merits than older ones as they are released. Can always wait till they drop the cost to 10 merits in a few months if it bothers you so much.

The big deal is that it doesn't make a lot of sense to introduce new content and then passively discourage people from doing it.

But I don't have a dog in this fight.
