Red Mage's SP would have been better, though.
Red Mage's SP would have been better, though.
None of that stuff required testing. They could have just told us 99 relic requirements or the new sp2s and the feedback would have been the same with or without a test server.
Honestly bst one right now is arguably just as bad with how lackluster the ready dmg is. Even the best moves dmg wise are a dps loss if the master is meleeing. It would be cool to real quick put on a bunch of debuffs onto the mob except all the cool old jug debuffs barely land anymore
will suck more once they implement the instant ability recast reset once you enter battlefields, would make the SP totally useless. I mean i know you can reduce ability recasts with it, but with current gear + merits alot of ability recast can be reduced significantly (ecxept for mage abilitys), war for example has a recast of 30 sec on berserk. Will only get worse once/if they ever raise the cap on job specific merits. I really dont understand why brd got a 5. song but corsair didnt get a 3. roll as SP2 ¬.¬
I am also surprised how noone bitches about the geo SP2... that SP is borderline useless.
Widened Compass would be pretty amazing as like a 5-10 min JA. 1 hr recast is retarded, and the JP enhancement for it is even more retarded. While under the effect of your bullshit SP2, your Geomancy spells gain 3% per upgrade Fast Cast. Herp a fuckin derp, now I can fit even more bubble casts into my 45 sec duration shit SP2. -.-
Geo SP2 should have been a giant indi-fart-bubble that combines all their debuff-fart-bubles into one for the duration of 1 min and 30 sec. I am also surprised how Blaze of glory only can work on geo spells... no way to buff indi-spells. but I should shut up, they are heading towards the right direction with geo with the recent changes and the comeing one :X
So 75 content AoE burning...? Forgive me if I don't believe that makes it a good sp
Still more useful than Reraise and Stoneskin. besides that, other uses for it. Unleash is a fantastic SP2, don't decry it due to lack of creativity and another problem altogether (unbalanced pets)
Don't pretend it's good while hiding behind cryptic "other uses" that are most likely just as laughable as your one example assuming they exist. And the pet issue is part of the problem... yeah it'd be insane if we had better pets with better moves or the ability to better gear for them or if tp mattered for them. And stymie would be good if we had great debuffs... speaking of which that's basically how SE has dealt with stymie. Trust us it's great you just gotta figure out how to use it yeah really it is.... And temper would be great if it was on a real melee. And crusade would be good if the whole enmity system wasn't broken.... etc etc
So what you're saying is, the ability itself isn't bad. Great, then we're in agreement. I'm gonna stand by the fact that, compared to a majority of other 1hs, it is indeed a good one. What else do you want, there isn't anything more fitting for BST than a buffed up Meikyo Shisui for the pet. Passively call me a liar all you want, I won't be debased simply because I managed to think of things that you couldn't.
I'm saying at best it has potential which you could say about a lot of things that would be called bad. Hmmm what else could it be... a lot of things really. Could be some sort of long term buff like the sp1. Maybe eat your pet like drg. Make it's normal attacks AoE would be cool.
Meh do what you want but I'm not gunna feel bad that someone claims to think things I couldn't but hides behind a but I wont tell. You bring real data, strategies or well-reasoned discussion ok. Otherwise this is just random boosting with nothing to back it up
I'm not going to say something on a public forum and have 600 other people try to replicate it, wasting my time as a result. I'm simply saying that there are, indeed, uses for it, and that it isn't as useless as, say... Cutting Cards. Or Stymie. Or Unbridled Wisdom (don't even, chaincasting Pyric Bulwark isn't a use). Anyway, besides that, targeting the pet with JAs isn't the wrong way to go at all. A Spirit Surge-esque ability would do nothing to help the job in either solo (let me go ahead and eat my pet for dat has-- oh shit I just lost my meat shield) or group play (will maybe make it potent enough to DD for however long the duration on the buff is... once every hour), buffing the pets (and also maybe fixing how unbalanced axes are compared to other weapons at this point) will.
