Pretty odd time of day for them to add dev posts.

August patch incoming hmmmmm.
With the new Job Points categories I wonder if they will tweak the system as a while any further (as in: ways to obtain JPs and the speed at which you can do it)
All I know is it's really gonna suck when more than 2 of my jobs have job points I care about, bad enough grinding to cap Hasso on SAM and set points on BLU. I'm sure any CAP adjustments they make will be largely inconsequential as well as the next few times they decide to tweak them until there's finally a tolerable balance between time spent and CAP gained.
"Rather than letting players call Trusts that can tackle any situation, we want players to choose Trusts based on their current situation."
SE needs to apply their mentality for Trusts to BLU magic and BST pets.
What? Blue magic is probably the best non-equipment example of situational player customization in the entire game.
I think he might be referring to the time it takes to switch... if they got rid of the 1 minute timer on casting and allowed us to make spell sets to switch right away it would revolutionize blu lol.... and for bst maybe have something where your call beast timer went down to zero if you Leave your pet when it's hp is 100%... ya know like they do with the only 2 other jobs with pets that use ja timers to call their pet
I'm loving this double salvage drop rate. Should be a permanent fixture in my opinion. Getting 28 plans in 2 runs is sweet.
Having access to all spells w/the point system only in place for traits wouldn't be broken at this point in the game.
Or they could be generous and let Azure Lore or Unbridled Wisdom grant us unrestricted access temporarily.
Also I hope that jester looking Caturae is Xol and not Hades. Expected Hades to look a bit more threatening and serious, like a Corse or something undead instead of a weird Harlequinn thing or the FF9 version.

It's probably not Hades, because we've seen at least one more "caturae-like" image in the famous collage and that one didn't have tits like this one.
Anything's possible of course, but I'm fairly certain that jester is not Hades.
Would allow us a lot of flexibility. We could land a lot of powerful debuffs that rival rdm. Auroral drape is like -70 accuracy blind, mind blast's paralyze rivals para2, plague, stuns up the wazoo, curagas. I feel like our spells were set to be pretty damn good because of the fact that our slots are limited. Our debuff spells are pretty damn good(just nobody sets them because we lose out on traits and dps). Besides before a fight we would be buffed like gods. Diamond hide, cocoon, natures meditation, erratic flutter, reactor cool, warm-up, barrier tusk, occultation, regeneration, saline coat etc.
If anything, a 5-10min JA, cast 1 spell from our entire blue magic list for 0 MP would be useful. Call it Azure Seal, bam.
I think removing the spell set limit and allowing for a 5-10min JA that allows for a single cast of any spell on your list would be pretty nifty and hardly gamebreaking.
Should have scrapped the spell restriction and used the set point system purely for traits ages ago
Sitting there casting all those buffs - some of which only last for a minute - would still cut into DPS a lot. A RDM keeping up all the potential buffs they can have on has a similar issue, but one that Composure and gear bonuses serve to alleviate.
I do think simply allowing access to all spells is a more elegant solution. Not being able to cast is an appropriate penalty given that swapping set spells also means swapping traits. If you could just swap between sets, the end result would probably be finding a way to script spell sets like gear, and that'd be a mess.
What I think would work is to give bonuses to set spells, other than determining traits. Or penalize the ones that aren't set. It'd still give access to them for procs, or for occasional utility, but still give a reason to set frequently cast spells.
Could also do it as the pair of stances thing - all spells, traits capped at level 1 vs set spells only and higher tier traits from them.
So appearently WE ARE getting an Enmity cap raise, but that won't happen through JAs, Traits or spells (Crusade etc), but with specific equipment.
Think about PDT II on some recent items.
This will be Enmity + II or something like that.
While I'm immensely happy this is happening, I don't understand why they want to bind such a vital aspect into an item instead than something more across the board.
I mean... this means we'll be first: forced to get that item, second: forced to keep it equipped, limiting gear swaps and options for that slot. It sounds pretty dumb to me.
Why couldn't they do that to Crusade or job traits or whatever else?
