Well, since you have to be 99 to get JP and you should have most of your spells already at 99, what the hell do you need learn rate points for? In the time it takes to 10/10 it you could learn every BLU spell 10 times over. And once you have very spell what are those points worth now? Bupkis!

Whoever came up with that JP category must have either never heard of BLU or was on enough drugs to kill Hunter S. Thompson. (You know, if he was still alive.)

Well they made it with the nebulous idea that it would be helpful later on with new spells released... but we see how fast they give blu new spells

They'll probably make new spells harder to learn since even thought they're lv99 spells, they're from ilvl mobs and we don't have much ilvl BLU skill so perhaps even though the spell level is '99' they will set future spells to be 'ilvlX' and since we don't have much blue skill to cover the gap, it'll be harder to learn without Job Pointa/AF hands.

Knowing SE they will just make it even worse lol. Like when they changed the mediocre buff enhancement rdm sp2 to Stymie. That's what you get for complaining!

They'll change all of Blu's JP categories to Monster correlation effect +1 attack per JP and it will be each individual type, aquans, birds, etc.

The new RDM JP category isn't that bad when you consider that when they raise the cap to 30/30, a fully JP'd RDM will have +49 accuracy while Composure is up, essentially giving them Accuracy Bonus IV-ish for whenever they want to smack things with their swords (whatever the reason may be) Definitely more functional than blue magic learning rate at least

Ah yeah, I remember that lol. This is worse tho IMO, it does completely nothing once you learn all spells.

and not only that, but unless you literally only log on to log on, wasting time getting 110 job points to go 10/10 on learning rate for future spells still isn't worth the effort. it's all time that could be spent elsewhere, getting JPs for other jobs, etc.. I'm not sure there's anything worse that they could add aside from like... +1 evasion for feather barrier.

hoping for something like buff duration +1%, but will probably get something more generic like magic accuracy

Well I wasn't really saying what is better or worse... just that SE has "fixed" things that were bad before by making them 10 times worse like magical water element spells + enmity lol.

Though I never really buy into the whole argument that something is automatically better or worse just because of how long you could use it. I mean just because you can use something doesn't mean it was useful in the least. If it doesn't help you do anything it's effectively doing nothing as well.

Not saying that blu merit is good or anything but the fact that it's not useful after a point doesn't necessarily make it the worst by itself. It's more the fact you would already have the spells by the time you merited it making it so for right now it would never have been useful. But betting on a lot of super hard to learn awesome spells spells in the future seems foolish. Yay you can be first to get spell X.

Then again SE's is constantly putting out that aren't supposed to be farming JPs that we just get them while we do stuff... so they probably figured something along the lines of using the ones we get while getting spells or farming merits or whatever. Which might hold water if you could actually get decent amount of jp while not farming for them

It takes weeks if not months of specifically and purposely TRYING to farm CP/JP to cap out all current JP categories. How in the world did they think we would eventually cap them all by casually doing content and getting JP by happenstance? It would take years to cap all JP on a job through only the CP gained from Delve/Skirmish every so often. Also if the current trend continues, which it will(since you can hold up to 200JP), the last upgrade for any particular JP category will be 30 Job points which is 900,000 CP. That's 4500 THOUSANDS of mobs even at 600CP per kill and most mobs give a fraction of that amount of CP. I assume the CP will be less when ilvl is increased since EXP/CP is determined by ilvl difference, so a 123 mob will give ~450 CP at ilvl119 but at ilvl125, it may give 230.

actually the ilvl increase will increase the cp gain the higher the mob lvl the more cp they give. 10 more ilvl and you can kill woh gate mobs like they were DC mobs in instant kills. the new mobs will prolly give then 1000 CP solo (if they introduce them)

this will prolly be also the case when they raise the category caps

I thought cp was like exp in that the higher your level relative to the mob's, the less cp you get. They updated it about a year ago such that ilvl gear was averaged and exp was reduced relative to your average ilvl, would imagine CP would be similar. This can be tested i suppose quite easily by killing a mob with ilvl 115(making sure not to swap) and then doing the same with 119 making sure not to chain and seeing if there's a diff.

The augments are Accuracy +13 (I think. That's "meichuu" which means to hit. Hit+ sounds like acc to me) and Fast Cast +2.

Okay, so slightly better raw DPS than Excalibur without very useful augments to compensate for the lack of additional effect, attack+40, and hidden effect procs. Perhaps they have more useful augments squirreled away, but so far /unimpressed.
