SE needs to take time to evaluate the impact of such an adjustment, and carefully balance it. Atomos and Hastega II could seriously reduce the difficulty of replacing all DDs in your LS with Tsurumaru SAMs.

Atomos is gonna be a 2hr only a Avatar. Probably gonna be an AoE Impact type ability as that was his A.Flow in the missions(not very many enfeebling astral flows) maybe reduces mob's attributes to 1 for 60-90 seconds, could be better for alliance zergs than PDing one party.

Because alliance zergs are a thing anymore.

They pretty much were up until Delve II came out and lowered Delve party limit to 6. Don't need to act like alliances fights were only something people did 6 years ago, people were doing em up until like 5 months ago. Also they said Atomos would be an 18man fight like Odin v2 so that could potentially be a zerg.

To be fair his sentence is still entirely accurate.

5 months ago isn't today, and people don't do alliance fights today

I'm interesting in seeing if Atomos will really be that hard though... If he requires 18 people to get (a huge step from other avatars) he better be damn well worth it. Especially considering it also likely requires WoTG completion.

People do, though. I'm not saying it's a very efficient way of doing things but it does happen. They're also planning on releasing more alliance stuff next update, so there's that.

Where does it say atomos is alliance? That's odd

I don't think it is. Only post I could find that had Alliance and Atomos together was this.

    Preview of September Update
We are planning a quest continuing on the Wings of the Goddess Storyline and adding the new Summon, Atomos.
There will be new high level content designed for 6-18 players to challenge.
There will be a new ilevel version of Walk of Echoes. The monsters will be stronger, but the rewards will be greater.
We are planning on allowing players to equip an extra linkshell.
    New Monster Raising content.
The alliance line is separate from the Atomos line. Maybe people thought it was still referring to Atomos?

the new high level content designed for 6-18 players and new ilevel version of WoE might as well be in the same line.

Erm, no one was saying Atomos would be an alliance fight- rather, its potential BP may be useful for alliance fights.

Like I said earlier, Atomos prime is probably 6man fight but the final WoW chamber which will likely require all KI from other chambers may be a 18 man fight, like how there's Odin Prime and Odin v2

Is anyone else really sour about delve being a 6 man event these days? I know a lot of us, including myself, complained about 18 man events as there is a lack of people but making delve a 6 man event really cockblocked a lot of players from being able to even enter (Specifically the new delves). This is because people only want the best of the best.

I really hope you're wrong Ophannus, because that'd mean a lot of people would be cut from being able to ever even do Atomos a single time as all 6 KI would be a trial in itself.......I really hope they don't do that. That'd be ****ing awful and would satisfy 1% of the playerbase. They need to allow better scaling with delves so that 8 people isn't entirely out of the question. This whole 6 or bust is complete bullshit and was a REALLY bad idea. It's especially bad when you're in an LS of 20+ people and inner circle jerk groups are made. Yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

there are inner circle groups because it gets fairly annoying dealing with people who are so stubborn in their ways that they arent willing to do things efficiently, but rather do things their way. when it comes down to it though, there is a certain enticing challenge that comes from including those one or two people who arent up to par in terms of skill in final fantasy 11, but that only goes so far. its not about best only, its about success only. issues when an event is in farm status: you have people who arent willing to play certain jobs efficiently(on purpose it seems, going back to that stubbornness thing here), play jobs that arent blu pup smn run rng bst thf ect(whatever jobs are required for victory, not satisfying someones 13bux, i mean you either want sucess or you dont), or people who say they want to do those events but arent willing to get themselves into the position to do them as other people have. taking a page from the great austin st. john: "be your own keeper"

(if youre last in dps in every parse you have three options: 1. continue dps even though everyone wont appreciate your contributions, with good reason. 2.quit dps, and play mage/support and learn to do them efficiently and 3. throw stubborn ways out the window and learn what makes the good dps good, and imitate that. thats it. saying dps numbers dont matter is a justification of sorts because in the end if the mob is allowed to survive longer, every second its alive at some point can be attributed to your lack of execution, which in turn leads to slow, messy battles that can end up in wipes)

so in otherwords you expect the so called "inner circle" to "carry" all other shell members because they are incompetent/stubborn/dumb to contribute in a group? how is that unfair if they run alone then? we have sometimes more then 6 people on too, but we just tweek our setup around so if we are 9 people everyone can contribute to the run (mostly). I am not saying what they are doing is correct if all shell members were friends, but alas they are not, so its more or less a survival of the fittest. This might sound hard, but if you cant contribute to the fight why bother takeing you in constantly, its not like the other people that do the runs didnt work their ass of to be in that position or are playing their most beloved job.

people need to learn to be versatile or they should expect to be left out, period. Haveing multiple different jobs lvld gets you in in every fight, guess which people have to sit out? the Melee only players. which jobs do you play if I may ask?

Yes they are, its been discussed many times. Bottom line is, nobody here will give sympathy because they can't muster more than 6 players on average and they don't want anyone to benefit from something they can't participate in. I knew from the start it would be a mule fest (hell people three box it now.) Same thing happened w/Abyssea, and it will continue. The penalty from delve is way too harsh on larger groups. You only make it harder and gain 0 benefit in terms of drops, its all fucked.

oh damane im with you in regards to your opinion on the topic. i think you misinterpreted my post. i have two characters of which im essentially expected to play both at all times, my main being sam war drk mnk sch whm rdm and my alt being sch whm smn brd rdm blm blu. i think you may have miss quoted or like i said misinterpreted, because what i said is along the same lines as what you said lol.

also its not about the fact that people cant muster more than 6 people, its that the less people you have the better your profit is. i mean, when it comes to yorcia its easily doable with 3-4 people, so why bring more people? especially if the people that would be begging to go are begging to go because they cant get in to sweep runs because of the fact they do not bring enough to the table to warrant their participation/loot divide. though, there are situations where someone who needs just a win or a piece of equipment, and in that case exceptions can be made as long as they dont lot the sellables at the end, which they should be more than happy with considering the plasm and their original goal achieved, which was getting a piece of equipment.

It was in regards to new content that would require more people.

Who says its 6 or bust? 6 is the most efficient, sure. But running with a couple more doesn't magically make the run impossible, specially if those extra slots are taken by useful semi-useful jobs. Sounds like an example of suck less tbh, bout like...

That's pretty much my LS to a T. We've got maybe a dozen-ish top tier players, people who you don't have to remind to keep a haste cycle, Brds that won't let buffs drop, mages that have pre/mid-cast sets, melees that know when and where to use different sets, etc. The other 30ish in the LS? They're fodder or social members, typically more risk than anything if they're involved in a run. They'll get to come along once the content is figured out and we can slot them into a job or role that is either already covered, or them failing at their job doesn't jeopardize the run. But since them being brought is a risk, we have no reason to do different setups. They think they play fine the way they do, or their ignorance of game mechanics is ok, but it's not, and it effects their participation in the content. Rather than sending them a tell if they want in on a 6-12ish man Delve, they're left out and we run with what's less of a risk (0 risk) to our completion, while they're left in town QQing in LS chat about never getting into pugs or LS runs, or how Skirmish stones are terrible, or how x content that they're too lazy/unwilling to do is dumb, etc.

If you were truly a good player, one that your LS would want to bring, then I fail to see how you view Delve as "6 man or bust."
