Forget abyssea, you can go out and grind merits faster solo in adoulin zones. And in that time you might get 1-2 job points depending how long you decide to grind for. The ratio of exp to CAP is extremely skewed. If you get 100 CAP in Ceizak it's like getting 33 exp back in the day since you need 30k for 1 JP. Meanwhile you get nearly 1k exp. The chain bonus is pathetic, barely even noticeable if you drop a chain. Which happens often outside of a 6 man PT, meanwhile you can exp chain forever. There's no reason why you should get less CAP in a pt than solo, at least not that harsh a penalty. It actively discourages people from teaming up to get JP. Which I guess is fine since if people actually gave a crap and partied up for CAP there'd be no camps available to them.

I donno, I just think it's a stupid system. Like pankration or chocobo racing. There's not enough reward for all the effort you have to put into it. Very few jobs benefit from it at all, and no one is going to ask if you have such and such capped, unlike merits back in the day for the few things certain merits were required for. So I'll just continue to slowly get CAP doing daily RoE and the cool kids can go grind in Woh Gates to their hearts content.

if you want jp's(at least in a non jp farming only party) the best way to get them is to be in a group that spams high tier battlefields to cap out everyone on all drops. you do 2~ runs, then go farm exp/jp's at 2-3 jp's a run, then 2~ more battles, then 2-3 more jp's for the next days runs. over time youll cap on multiple jobs. (ive capped my alts whm, rdm, brd, and sch's jp's and my mains mnk sam drk and whm jp's this way over time) its taken awhile and didnt seem like much but between delve, skirmish, and doing those, never reall exclusively jp farming it is definately doable. im not really advocating JP's as a system because it does suck, but if you play with a good group of players theres no reason why you shouldnt at least be on your way.

Even a 6 man group in woh is getting like 300-400cp per kill takes hours to get even 10JP and by then you've capped merits multiple times over. When they increase the ilvl cap it will be easier since unlike exp, cp doesnt diminish with a higher relative player level(but mob difficulty will become easier with newer equipment). I dont doubt that as they increase relative player strength and increase base cp gain, capping to 10 will take a few days on all categories. Now when they raise the cap to 30 it will take over 450 job points to cap it out from 0-30. At about 1-2 job points per hour, do the math, and thats with grinding for it, they expect people to casually cap over time? Getting as little as 2-3k cp per delve/skirmish? That's assuming of course the progression of JP cost is equal to n(n+1)/2, where n is the level of upgrade.

Not launching moral judgements (I'm at fault myself after all), just describing what I see around me.
Can you blame them, really? Even I'm capable of mulching Dho Gates mobs with Trusts in an endless chain and boy howdy I'm terrible. Woh Gates is literally the only zone where the mobs are strong enough to warrant a party, but the strength comes from their evasion, so you need accuracy buffs, meaning either find a BRD or COR that actually wants JPs on those jobs and not something else or more likely bring your buff mules, which means fuck it, Dho Gates Velkks here I come.

Echoing the rest of you but it the thrust of the system really ought to be your job getting stronger as you play it. It could not be a replacement for merit XP parties so long as JPs aren't fungible.

Not in the slightest way, absolutely. That's why I tried to emphasize the fact I wasn't shooting judgements at all.

    A one-day campaign. Sinister!

    Also, rolling back a bit:

Players have requested we do something about consumable items. We had considered a special bag for such things, however there are two problems:
-There are consumable used in synthesis. If you place them in this bag, you will not be able to craft with them.
-Items like Ninja Tools would not be automatically consumed
Do people really want a consumable storage? I can't see myself ever needing 80 slots for them unless I'm filling it with mulsum.

Were I willing to credit SE with such foresight I'd say the point of this is to juice the crafting materials market over the next week as everybody makes a mad dash to stock up.

At least this is better than it only being active during certain time periods of the day.

    Fuck. That. Shit.

With everything going on, it looks like SE is doing everything to keep us playing through the duration of these campaigns.
Now I'm trying to get my medals in campaign back up that I abandoned after the last campaign...... Here I thought it was only going to be once in a blue moon

Based on what SE has said about Dancer, we can infer that Stutter Step likely gives -3 MEva per daze level perfectly linearly from levels 1-10.

Jeez, I forgot about that from the last crafting campaign. 1 day isn't terrible, assuming you can play that day at least. I kinda wish they had announced it more than a week in advance though since I just blew through my stock of crafting mats a few days ago... Oh, well I'll try to stock up again in the following week leading up to the event.

I much preferred the 3 times spread out thru the day for a week or so it lasted. From what I remember the only way you couldn't have made it is if you had some weird schedule where each day of it the only hours you could play perfectly fit into the few hours between times.... which sure can happen but so can not being able to craft or gather ingredients for a day and I'd imagine effect more people

Anyone that works and goes to sleep by 10pm and lived on the east coast got fucked by those.

From what I remember, it started when I left for work, ended when I got home from work, and started when I would go to sleep.

Still retarded either way, fuck that shit.

Yeah so sounds like basically you fit perfectly into being between times... btw eastern time it was 12am-2am, 9am to 11 am, 4 pm to 6 pm. So people who got home before 6 could make it. Or if you end work later you probably don't start work till later so could hit the midnight one. Plus it ran for 2 weeks so plenty of chances to catch it on a day off unless you work 14 full days in a row

I could catch it on weekends, but I missed it everywhere else. Doesn't change the fact that it was a dumb way to do it.

I'll buy it might have been dumb and excluded some but significantly less dumb and less exclusive than this 1 day thing
