As dumb as either of those are, how crazy would the economy become if it was a solid 3 days to a week of skill up increase?

If they bring the double skill up event back often enough, one day isn't bad. Current trends suggest it will come around again sooner rather than later if this tsunami of events is any indicator. If we have to wait around for months till the next one though... screw that. Give us 3 days at least. I don't care about the economy being effected by it, they don't seem to care when scrolls etc tank in price every time they bring around the campaign or BC events.
Perhaps, Its not that I disagree entirely... but once the dust settles, how many 110 crafts or 100+ will we have at that point? Its hard to speculate but theres bound to be more... so you go from having a few people at those levels to a higher margin, imagine if most of those were cooking... or Alchemy... I mean RCB's have already begun tanking in price.
I know that I have woodworking and the only reason I've stopped is because is ball-numbinly boring, but if i had a 3-day weekend to skill it up twice as fast I might see myself taking the opportunity. Will i impact the economy? probably not... But i can see their hesitation. Crafters, especially 110 crafters, are probably some of the most hardcore and loyal players, p*ssing them off would suck since finding a 110 crafter for anything is like finding a damn unicorn these days.
When do we guess the update is? I think it will be the first or the 8th. I think the first is less likely since they usually have the update posted before that.
Has anyone started talking about "Incursion"? Going to be a new endgame type event they said. Perhaps it will drop components for new ultimate weapons as well as upgrade mats for upgraded empyrean armors.
With the name and the style of SoA i wouldnt be surprised if it involved Reives to an extent(would lend purpose to all the reive equipment they've added recently. Perhaps a blend of a Limbus/Nyzul/Salvage/Reive style dungeon crawl with multiple floors and some kind of gimmick of strengthening yourself/weakening your foes as you progress.
I think the "new weapons" space is filled for a while. Shame it's random augment bullshit.
I don't think they'd leave reforged empyrean to a patch day surprise. My guess is the Velkk thing rewards new sets of 119 armor and WoE 2 gives new accessories.
my hope is that finally we will have a skill to reward ratio in equipment over ilevel 119. example : you have to actively participate in content level 121+ content and be successful in order to obtain equipment with its item level suitable to the content. so basically, if you arent up to par with what the content greater than 120 requires, then you will not obtain the equipment. enough of these shortcuts because honestly, its time for harder content that not everyone can complete on day one.
I feel bored ._. I hope the september update delivers a bit with WoE and the new battlefield-system "Incursion" or however its called.
Not much to do other than build mythics. That gets boring after awhile.
Honestly surprised people are still playing! Then again I guess not everyone is at the same level of accomplishment. Not really sure how people with max gear even bother to log on anymore - Well I take that back...There are a lot of people that did max and have since stopped playing due to the overall lackluster shit updates that keep on coming out. The updates get worse and worse.
You remind me of the type of people Draylo used to bitch at on FFXIAH or here. Do you even play anymore? What level of accomplishment are you at, trolling over 9000? We just got a new Skirmish last update that laid out a pretty clear upgrade path for that tier of Skirmish, and this update we're getting two potentially grindy/rewarding events, one of which is 6-18 man, and WoE being who knows what, might be ilvl soloable, or might be 6-18 as well. And before the lolally shit rolls around, who's to say they're going to make the same mistake and follow Delve's pattern for 6-18 man. They very well could make it like Einherjar, Legion, or Limbus, where you can do lower tiers or less completions in a run with 6, but to do the mega boss or get the most out of a run, you go with 18.
That's the exact mistake I was referring to.Although they could smooth the fights out a bit more too since TP spam with an ally adds a lot of artificial difficulty compared to the benefits of having more, even if loot scaled.
Not that it detracts from the point(loot not scaling is horrible design), but in all honesty, the increased difficulty has much less to do with increased TP generation as it does with having to incorporate large amounts of mediocrity into your alliance. Generally speaking, most players fall somewhere between mediocre and bad. That includes your linkshell members. If you tend to run with a full alliance, and suddenly invite a group of 3-4 friends to a delve zone, you're going to see dramatic improvement mostly because of who you decided to bring along.
Buuut again, that doesn't change the fact that static loot for 3-18 bodies is a joke, and is what really needs to change to make alliances worthwhile again.
On the other hand, one could argue the point system and KIs were indeed a means of loot scaling. Unfortunately, the pros tend to either hate such "welfare" gear or want the weird-ass shit of a dungeon you can only beat one boss in for a month before finally being able to take on the next. And that's largely only because you can fight/enter once a week. In the end, it tends to come back to a hardcore's lack of moderation leading to their own burnout without a dev holding their hand with currency caps or lockouts. This also has a bad a habit of leading to silly ideas like forcing people into content they don't enjoy to progress simply because alternative methods of loot acquisition are frowned upon. Rift tried this with PvP/Conquest and it pretty much blew up in their face as an example.
Meh, the "pros" arent happy unless SE has metaphorically used this on them:
Spoiler: show
Nah I'm not trolling. I keep my accounts subscribed even during down times such as the one after Delve 1.0. Feeling accomplished is subjective to the player. I believe having a couple mythics and relics as well as maxed gear for the jobs I care about kind of completes me in the game. The last skirmish update was definitely nifty for the general populous who lack 119 weapons but if you didn't need those weapons there was almost no point at all in doing it other than to help out some friends. It wasn't a super enjoyable event...I did it a couple of times and it was just kinda meh...Honestly most of the skirmishes have been that way. The creativity just wasn't there when they designed it imho.
Update is around the corner though with some content I think I can actually join and benefit from but I'm more concerned about how enjoyable the new WoE will actually be. I just want to see something clever more than anything. I actually did enjoy doing a lot of the new BCs it was just always a pain to find people to do ones other than AAs. Low manning Ouryu on Normal was a blast.
