Apogee is... interesting. Wish it didn't have a 5 minute recast time or was a stance instead, much like favor, but I guess that would be too powerful... It makes for a good "Oh shit I need to erase-ga and also cure-ga" button.
I'm slightly disappointed that the favor adjustment mentions nothing about the potency reset after using BPs, but maybe they forgot to mention it. Or, maybe they just forgot it. Either way, it's already more useful than it was before, so that's a bonus. I wonder how much of a perp cost increase we are talking. It's pretty easy to get some insane -perp and +refresh, so anything below like... 3... won't really be felt. Then again, I can see a lot of low gear level SMN bitching that their cheap avatars aren't cheap anymore.
I'm going to take a stab and say that Atomos will be useless. Since it isn't absorbing stats, but instead a magic effect, I can't imagine it's going to work on anything worth a damn. I guess maybe it it removes some crazy buff it will see some use, but otherwise it's Alex or nothing.
No mention of Cait Sith adjustments. I'm confused by the preview image now...
EDIT: Oh I guess I read the favor part wrong. Avatars are just flat out getting an accuracy boost. That's nice. But this also makes the favor adjustments even more lackluster...
Atomos consumes me. So basically its main use will be kinda like THF SP2? With the difference of not being instant like that... sorta.
I like some of those changes but kinda confused about Sange.
I'm also concerned about the additional perp cost. How much exactely are we talking about? Double? This probably won't concern Nirvana users but for everybody else there might be a bit of item hunting and idle paradigm changing to do. I know I'll have to adjust some pieces, like for instance give up Nares for -Perp Hagondes, and stuff like that (yai... everybody loves getting the desired stat on Hagondes, don't we?)
Can we have Reforged Empyreal Armor now yesplease?
Someone on the official forums suggested that the 'magic effect' absorbed might not always be a positive effect. Everyone gets helix'd!
I wouldn't put it past SE to do that.
Wow @ some of those adjustments, the BLU one is awesome!!! Depending on the duration increase, Barrier Tusk will be very nice and Nat. Med will be worth using. It's funny though, the DEV team said they weren't going to adjust old spells. Atomos is a huge letdown... I really hope it doesn't just take ONE magical buff like protect and give it to everyone lol
Sange sounds like it will be a pretty good damage dealing cooldown. Basically +1 attack every round for a full minute. The trait itself I have no idea if it'll be useful, as mentioned in the past it's up in the air whether it'll be worth sacrificing ammo stats so you can throw a shuriken once in a while. It has 5 levels, so maybe like 20% by lv95? Dunno.
Regardless unless they're adding 500D shuriken or something it won't change anything anyway.
Nat. meditation is already worth using, this just makes it better.
Hmm I get it now, but the fact that it consumes Shuriken makes me cry.
Unless they're gonna add Shurikens to Plasm like they did for Rangers but without a trait that randomly lets you save shurikens a stack of 99 is gonna get consumed pretty quickly.
Another gil-sink is the last thing I needed.
Regardless, we can keep our fingers crossed for new shurikens with good damage AND good stats on them, because without this pre-requisite being fulfilled both Daken and new Sange are pretty useless.
Also remember than using a Shuriken creates the TP resetting issue if you want to swap to another ammo for WSs (like Qirmiz or Yetshila+1 for Blade: Hi, for instance).
Or rather, you can swap to the ammo, but when you go back to Shurikens your TP will be reset...
When is the SMN skill thing coming? Guess they didn't make it in time for October so we'll have to wait november...
SMN skill thing?
Hm, does it reset TP? I haven't used shuriken for like, a decade now lol
But yeah, Sange is going to be a crazy gil sink. 1 minute of Ninja attacking is like 50 rounds or something. I really hope whatever new shurikens they add are laughably cheap to make because otherwise whatever good intentions they had with Sange won't matter. Even plasm or eminence shurikens wouldn't really help that much because of how fast you'd burn through them.
i dont see why it would, it's ammo. unless shurikens act differently than other ammos.
i think the important thing is that based off the preview pic i can assume daken will actually be animated as if i was doing a ranged attack
that's more important since the only use for nin is looking cool anyway
If they add easy to get shuriken(they prolly will) this is an awesome change for nin indeed, faster tp gain, better white dmg and Sange sounds awesome tp gain wise O.O.
Wow!!! Dancer and Thief getting A+ dagger and PUP getting A+ H2H... my jaw dropped... Didn't think such an increase was going to happen. This has me excited. The lower recast on steps and presto is nice.. or flourishes to use while waiting for Reverse Flourish cooldown.
Dancer changes make the job even further handicapped by JA delay (if you choose to use them). They picked the worst of all possible ways to address the problems they created last update when they increased the max step level to 10. I'll probably use Steps at about the same rate and just use the lowered recast to stack them with WSs. The CHR bonus to Flourishes III will either be good (CHR being added to base damage for the entire WS, essentially a WS mod) or just a minor damage boost that's not worth gearing for (CHR added as extra base damage to the first hit like with SA/TA).
Other stuff that kinda matters:
* Pet Acc/MAcc won't make pet melee damage a viable DD source on the stuff they were having trouble with, but it might let them hold hate in pet burns of higher level shit (WoE).
* BLU buff duration increase is great and should have been done a long time ago.
* Daken is cool.
* Atomos could be cool if it's something like an AoE Absorb-Attri that you don't have to use AF for. It'll either be useless or awesome depending on how it works and what you're fighting.
* Apogee won't hurt.
* Entrust is the clear winner of the update, imop.
Other stuff that doesn't matter:
* All the skill changes are inconsequential. PUP's is the best, and it picks up ~2 base damage, 20 attack, and 16 Acc.
* WAR's changes don't hurt the job but don't address any of its issues.
* I'd demerit Sange right now because it looks totally not viable.
* The Avatar's favor changes explicitly mentioned there won't help the JA in any substantial way or address any of the issues associated with it and will actually make it less useful.
if entrust actually allows 1 GEO to have 3 bubbles out? 10/10 best job adjustment
Yeah that would be amazing. If not it will be nice so they aren't in range for NM if in DD party.
Dnc update = better dynamis farm -_-...
I think sange/ninja is a winner too, they will most likely add easy to get shuriken to go with it
If 3 buffs, GEO > BLU > SMN > NIN > WAR > everything else
If 2 buffs, BLU > GEO > SMN > NIN > WAR > everything else
dnc buffs will mean 600+ currency runs in dyna if mob respawn can keep up with procs, assuming step recast carries over to sj.
