Maybe their own haste trait from ambush or a JA that allows their mainhand to ignore defense while giving them a 15% haste boost, or maybe add it to conspirator so anyone with conspirator who isnt on the top of the hate list in the pt gets 10-15% haste.
THF already caps attack speed very easily due to Dual Wield. Biggest issue for THF is usually getting people/enemies to hold still for SA or TA. On most things it's not an issue, unless you're fighting something that has directional crap so people wanna spread out. Gramk-Droog is pretty annoying since he has bind, too. It's hard to say exactly how much potential a THF can have in a fight simply because SA and TA get screwed up easily (depending on your group, of course), but I have personally parsed competitively with SAMs (results varying by content).

edit: THF could definitely use something like SA and TA not wearing if you screw them up, like if you use SA but the enemy turns, it'll stay on until you actually hit it from behind.

That's true but they are so easy to summon another one. I realize that the favor effect gets reset but it is still potent even at the weakest, no? (I have to check but wasn't it buffed recently?) Survivability for wyverns remains an issue and automatons but for us PUPs, we at least have Deus ex Machina.

    Nether Void works like that.

Wait you are saying you can use nether void with Bale Flanchard +1/2 on then switch for the cast and still get the boost?

    Pretty sure it does.

    Edit: Just tested, it does.

How odd I'll have to check that out... still dare you to find one that uses base stats that does it

Are there any damage-boosting JAs based on stats other than SA/TA? Not sure it's a good example of a paradygm they have to comply to.

    Jumps are modded by VIT.

Also, as far as the DNC update goes, its magnificent for DNCs and I can say I'm happy for them, but at this point if we compare DNC and THF it now looks something like this.

    DNC:
    Self Cures
    Tanking Stance.
    DD Stance.
    10% JA Haste
    Dual Wield 4
Higher accuracy by a good margin (they have Acc Bonus traits remember? SE Gave it to them to compensate for lower skill? well, guess fuck that)
Higher Dmg potential (and not that much more higher)
    DEF- Debuff
    Crit Evasion Debuff
    (Cons: JA Delay)

    THF:
    Treasure Hunter.

I know its still not likely DNC will be invited to anything... But I mean, comparing those two jobs side by side THF is now just shit tier, even worse. I know if a THF is literally topest tier and has the best gear available in the entire game and performs everything flawless within miliseconds they can almost be a good DD compared to a 1 armed PUP, but yah, not good enough, and I know DNC is in the same boat with all the JA Delays. I think SE feels that because a lot of people have THF leveled (consensus) that must mean its a good job... what they don't realize is that probably 50% or more of those THFs are just mules hauled around to hit something and then afk. THF is an aborted failure of a job, and I don't think SE knows where to go with it.

Yes I'm mad... Its always been my favorite job through all its useless phases, just pains me to see it repeatedly thrown aside in every imaginable way.

Im kinda curious how the shuriken chucking animation will meld with ninjas attack speed.i certainly hope it doesnt slow things down. Or if the toss is a slow animation that we will have unanimated swings.

After checkin this thread iim hopeful that Atomos is not an astral flow ability, but i just think back to how SE said a few times cait sith would be a carby like avatar where atomos would be like odin/alex. Alex and Odin both have 1 min recasts i think. Do we think Atomos will just be casted without blood pact usage?

The post specifically says that Atomos gains no additional blood pacts under Astral Flow.

When they first announced Atomos I thought they said it would be a 2hour avatar similar to Odin/Alexander.... perhaps we drew the 2 hour conclusion ourselves here. The way it sounds is that its a spell you can cast every 60 seconds, it'll summon him, use the ability, and vanish... separate of our Astral Flow timer.

Is that what everyone else is getting from it? That would be, to me, the only reason they specify no new BPs during AF, is if it was not an Astral Flow avatar.

Based on what they wrote, it doesn't seem to be an avatar at all, except in flavor. It sounds just like a normal spell, so it's separate from blood pact recast, and is instead affected by haste.

Its definitely an avatar, the video clearly shows the summon of Atomos and it absorbing/Bestowing... thats probably exactly what you meant lol, but its like Odin/Alexander. Summon him > Does his thing > Vanish, except we won't need Astral Flow active, and with the recast being effected by haste and such, as you pointed out, its essentially an unavoidable dispel that absorbs it and bestows it on the party could easily be 20-30 second recast.

IDK, that sounds pretty f**king amazing.

Edit: and someone, for the love of god, correct WindWhispering in this thread. - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...g-Atomos/page2 My account is inactive as of I think yesterday and I don't want to pay 13$ to call someone a fucking moron. (See the part about Cait Sith's Level ??? Holy, she seems to think its whiffing cause of low magic accuracy... please I can feel my brain getting cancer)

I'd say it's premature to call it unavoidable. Buff absorbs can be resisted too.

Maybe a little premature, I admit... but I'd like to hope its at least high accuracy similar to Diabolos' failed Death move. There's still a part of me that would like to assume SE is not that stupid

Even if it was subject to resists, 20-30 second Dispel/Buff subject to Avatar M.acc is again, still awesome, and can be done between BP recasts.

THF is to DNC as RDM is to BLU. Basically two similar jobs where there's probably some past grudge (soloing and TH) lobbied upon them by SE where future equivalents get added just seemingly to spite them and their requests for improvements. Of course, none are SAM, so in the end they don't matter~

Pretty nice SMN finally on the Avatar's Favor, but the lack of the new BPs like Hastega II is disappointing. The Atomos being on just a timer and not Astral Flow sounds fantastic but I guess we'll have to see how effective it is.

The A+ changes was surprising but I am glad to see them.

Can they? I've never seen osmosis buff absorb miss if the mob doesn't have an unstealable buff like erratic flutter.
