I disagree. Most abyssea parties are made by people who want to leech a job to 99, so they get a few other 99s to help out. The last few parties I have been in only had 4-5 ppl at 99. Two BLM, three random DD pulling/skilling up. The rest were lvl 30-80, all but one leeching. Since you can't leech good xp in a real party like that, all nerfing abyssea xp would do is make those who leech 30-99 go somewhere else.

All of the people getting merits in abyssea(yes a lot of people still do this) would shit up all of your decent camps with trusts. Even if people killed slowly, adoulin is the next best spot for meriting of any sort. Leeching would just divert to slower ROE afk burns.

I doubt SE will divert enough resources to FFXI again for that with how poorly SoA is doing.

Well, is there any definite data that says the game is doing poorly? If you mean server pops, it is hard to gauge that fairly with 14, WoW, and Destiny eating up a lot of time for most players.

ITT FFXI is doing just fine, just the community is finding more enjoyable things to do with their time and money rather logging into play and continue to pay for their subscriptions.

Maybe they, could, I dunno, hit a book and use all those FoV/GoV + RoE + Trust combos to rack up some exp and actually have to do something for exp instead. Shit, it's not like S-E wouldn't set things up with a freebie weapon shop and armor drops in the zone off brown chess...oh wait, they did.

The doll party I was in was an alliance. Four 99's, eight total AFK leeches and 4 people at least trying to key while one puller and two mages blew stuff up and a RNG randomly shot things. Meanwhile, outside Kazham you could listen to the crickets chirp and the mandragoras celebrating their release from eternal carnage.

Well the "toxic" NA community doesn't help at all. Can't go far w/o countless idiots posting their garbage about the game and their nostalgia goggles bolted on. I imagine that is one of the reasons the JP aren't suffering as much.

Pretty much the thing that may actually kill the game for the west is being unable to get past 401 which is currently the hardest encounter in all of XI and XIV. It's preventing me from paying for either service. Getting brand new cards, waiting 30 days since getting the error both of which have yet to yield a result in me being able to actually pay and attempting with prepaid cards, all of which give me the error :/ such fucking bullshit that they removed the only option that could actually pay for the game.

It really is if they are still doing that verified by visa crap. Years ago, it took me quite a few attempts to find a prepaid card that would work with SE's system. I think there is also a legit concern that your account might get banned if SE notices you throwing 10 different cards at it trying to find one that works. I know I was worried that it would flag me as an RMT if my payment attempts failed too many times.

I noticed that, i haven't put my crysta for the month in yet, but prolly will since i do have a debit card and I know those debit cards from my credit union work.

Called Square tech support, this may be just a canned answer but they said We're working on that for FFXI players since they only really have cards for XIV right now,.

I think it would be pretty simple if they rebrand them for crysta and not specifically for XIV. As of now it's game time cards for XIV and nothing for XI, either find a credit card that their service likes or you're screwed.

Oh and before anyone asks; I think Verified with Visa is a thing of the past, they're using a service from Wells Fargo for credit card processing now.

Tried it, doesn't work. Used said prepaid card to get jimmyjohns instead, 10/10 things turned out better than expected.

Is it really that hard for a company with users around the entire world to continue to accept common forms of payment that are accept by almost everyone else? I mean why would in the world would any company try to make it difficult enough to pay for something that people would consider just not buying?

Even if some prepaid cards do work, they're a hassle to register for online transactions, and you lose money on fees. It's ridiculous to expect your customers to jump through hoops like this just to attempt to purchase your product, and baffling that a company as big as SE has these issues in the first place.

you should be able to pay with a credit card using paypal if they are still accepting paypal. I havent played in years though so i don't know how much its changed but thats how i use to pay. Prepaid cards through paypal should work too. You don't need a paypal account either as far as i remember to checkout/finish payment.
