I doubt it too not because of technical issues but rather because they want to choose to do it this way.
If they wanted I think it could be totally possible, the potency would just have to be imbued into the Avatar's Favour buff itself, which is on the player. Done that way it would stay even if the avatar dies or gets swapped.

Well, like I said I hope you guys are right, because I don't want to be.

But SE has a track record of doing whatever is easiest, and simply inverting the sign seems like something they'd do.

Considering your own track record with Atamos, and how there's absolutely no mention of the potency degrading over time, I'd have to say it starts at a baseline and BPs increase it, just like they said. FWIW I also doubt the potency will be stored on the buff itself, even though that'd be really nice just to increase Smn's use as a buffer. DD with Ifrit + Favor, in-between fights pop out Diabolos for some extra Refresh, back to Ifrit once fighting again, etc.

And Garudas too. Once they give us Hastega2 (which is going to happen, we just don't know when) you'll want to use Garuda for that before going back to Ifrit for the DA.
Ramuh's Crit buff would be decent as well for DDs, I think.
And if you're in a mage party (uh... they still used lol?) you can give nice Mab or Mac.

The other buffs aren't really going to be particularly useful. Maybe Fenrir and Caith Sith, but only if they bump up the cap noticeably.

Well... inverting the sign would make it so that rages raise Favor level by 5 and Wards raise it by 2. (iirc my Favor trivia)
The degradation would be a second sign change wherein the formula that determines potency's t value would be changed such that potency starts at level X and decreases as t increases... opposite of what it is now... and then you'd also have to add in a floor that it cant pass... otherwise you'd have -X values for Favor's buffs... Which is infinitely more complicated.

Just changing a sign on the "delevel term" would have no effect of Favor's "charge formula".

Basically it sounds like they're doing the next easiest programming change to Favor. Change the -level term to a +level term...

Though if they keep it at the same values.... sweet babies that's potent!

EDIT: Though Lord only knows why they even bothered with this in the first place... because zeroing out the BP effect on it would have been easiest... makes me think they're gonna add more to Favor after... cause this "BP-inversion" reeks of pre-planning.
Also: please no Hastega2. Just make it variable by skill (like Indi-/Geo-Haste) and "fix" Earthen Ward and Noctoshield in the same update... then all three problematic wards will behave in the manner in which they should. (Hastega=GEO's Haste; Earthen Ward = SS; Noctoshield = Phalanx/2; 500skill to cap... like always.)
EDIT2: With RNG-PLD/RUN set up that's popular now (and always lol); GEO+SMN already can do what BRD+WHM can... so... there's no "loss" as to "balance" or whatever where capping haste or schezo or whatnot is concerned...

I was thinking they should just make Haste II a property of Chronoshift so Atomos isn't garbage. Increase its MP cost of course.

That would mean you can only use it while in combat. That wouldn't really be desirable. I would rather they just improve Hastega to do that.

Well they already said they aren't simply inverting signs as it will be based on mp the pacts used

yea the bcnm thing ends right on time with no maint. including if u had started a bcnm before it ended and finished it just a min after. I suspect the WoE Surge campaign might needed an update to start, since it was scheduled at the same time the maint started. Unless there was actual bugs

I just noticed the details of the campaign.... nice nice.

Other day I was very happy to see a home point outside its flux. Guess I need to go around and find the new home points.

I kinda laughed at their haste explanation. If they had to cast haste on the entire party, that's all they'd do!

    <rolleyes>

Well it's ok for players to have to do that, but not trusts!

Well to be fair with trust AIs only doing anything while you are engaged they actually might end up doing just that if you aren't fighting nms. But why can't they just have it cast on say the real players?

"The following issues have been addressed:

    - The game may freeze when an item is traded with NPC ‘Switchstix’ at Castle Zvahl Baileys.

    - The game may freeze when an event is triggered under certain conditions after a player swaps their gear.

    - The loot in the high-tier battlefield ‘Trial by Earth’ contains ‘Togakushi Shuriken.’
    * The loot will now contain ‘Togakushi Shuriken Pouch’ instead.

    - Hair is not hidden when a hume male and tarutaru female with certain face types equip headgears that normally cover hair. "

I think some of that showed up with the last update, I heard a friend who plays hume on one of my ls's complaining about "EWWW, suddenly I can't wear helms without hair sticking out!"

He had to turn the headgear off..Well, now he can wear it. Might be a little thing but I imagine it was annoying!

FYI, if people were curious, it was a certain model of blond haired hume that had the ugly problem.

Ha, never saw it lang, but I believed you in LS, I'm glad to hear that for your chara model, /displayhead off is not a necessity anymore.

Oh and it seems the taru model was the same one Catwho uses if anyone remembers that taru. (Saw her complaining on the official board.) Something about a taru with a ponytail?
