    i agree..
    I think people would be fine with JPs if it werent implemented so badly.. so specifically.

    they probably want us to exp in new areas more... but are really forcing our hand with this since there wont be enough good camps if people actively pursue JPs..

    The whole Su1 thing appears to be the first instance of hard gating for gear. i just hope in future it doesn't become the XI equivalent of minimum ilevel to participate in events... at least not at the rate its going now.

    Sorry I should have implied harder that party camps would also be crowded. You realize there's a lot less places to team up and get good CAP than there are solo right?

    I don't get the overall hatred of CP's. They're not huge bonus', we all know that. But if you're serious about a job, they can be a nice boost for continually playing it. It's there to encourage a main on a job. And it's there so people can't quickly change to the latest FOTM job and be max at it in a day. Maybe it's there to encourage people to use other jobs (as in, their preferred job, not what the LS makes them play) for content. And considering it's entirely possible to clear content on just about any job, I am not going to fault them for making a minor attempt to encourage that. I'm sick of the "x y are the only DD in the game" play style. Yeah, it always happens in MMO's, but that's also in MMO's that are so tightly tuned for that every second might count. That's largely not how FFXI operates.

    With how many bonus campaigns that they do they might as well just make it permanent for exp, seals, and all that shit o_O it's not like the game is out of balance with distribution of stuff or anything already.

    I hardly see the point of double exp, other than levelling low level or new jobs maybe.
    Not like getting 45 merits takes more than, what, 20 minutes?
    Seals too, meh, unless they find more use for them. I think I ended up having more than 400 Sacred ones and over 900 of the others.
    I started to just trash them when I get them now.

    But, again, I suppose those might be good for alts/mules/new players.


    What they should make perma is the 2x Capacity Points!

    I'm looking at it all as them prepping for a F2P conversion with these campaigns eventually becoming the perma-perks for subbers. It may just be coincidence the freebie times have been coming closer together, but I look that as them seeing just how many folks do peek back in not so much as seeing how many they retain, even if it is a bonus.

    There's multiple new camps in each of the basement areas of the Gates and Cirdas that were added last update. Add these to the old Dho and Woh camps and I really don't think number of camps is the issue. Multiple different targets too, a mage party could go to the Acuex portion and really grind things out, or a piercing heavy group could go for birds/bats, etc. Really need to check these areas out if you haven't, respawns are very fast, plenty of mobs per room to keep the CP chain going for infinite, and at least in my experience, accuracy checks aren't as bad as Woh, though the mobs are 121-123.

    I have been to those camps and solo'd in a few of them. I donno if they're great for parties though, the mobs are lower lvl than old Woh/ Dho gates camps, at least the mobs I bothered to check are. I doubt anyone is gonna want to exp on Dullahans. Could see Blms etc fighting the umbril though.

    /rejoice. Seriously though given the fact reives are the only source of other than waiting on assignments and the fact you need what was it 130 million balyd for an ergon I don't really see why this isn't permanent

    2x Blu War Whm Geo and a Cor that only did rolls got



    It was during the 2x campaign, +50% cape, no ring active at the end, and the final stretch had a bad roll, most other kills prior to that were 1850-1950. That was done in a single hour, Japanese JP party and he was strict about stopping after exactly one hour. Those areas are money for JPs, something like 16 in an hour counting rings and junk. Make the 2x campaign perm and I don't think I'd have any complaints personally.

    Honestly, taking a day to think about it, I don't think this new system is that bad. This allows players to focus on improving specific jobs to be able to equip what will no doubt be very powerful equipment. It gives goals for players in a game where goals have been rather sparse.

    Malithar's testimony does seem to show that JP is viable to farm quick quickly with the right conditions. Even without the 2x bonus campaign, you could get 8-10JP an hour. People just need to be open to all jobs joining Incursion parties. I know my PUP can do fantastic damage there to support these chains so other jobs should too provided the players themselves know what they are doing. Even SMN should be able to get into the game as their new BPs should help useability there too.

    Would be nice if the CP gain gifts were job independent. That would net you 25% just for spending 5 points in 5 jobs, 100% for maxing out 5 jobs. That way, each additional job you decided to CP farm on would take less and less time...S/E plz?

    Hmm must be higher lvl mobs farther in the zones cause I was getting 1kish during the campaign with capacity ring solo, in Woh Gates. I admit I didn't fully explore all the areas checking what each mob conned. I'm not trying to discredit that there are good CAP camps my concern is there won't be enough of them if the full server is going to need them just to wear gear. And yeah I'd be happy with double CAP rate all the time too, or triple or quadruple...

    And is meant to be another way of getting high ilvl gear than doing current content... so guess easy for new players who don't understand all the new systems/battlefields who can just grind out some jp and spend some gil. That makes it a lot better than it sounded like being some kind of requirement to get high ilvl stuff. Though I suspect there will be several pieces with unique stats so will still feel a need to grind out jp even if you have good 119 stuff already
