    this definitly.
I dont see the problem of letting Legion abjuration be used to uncursed new cursed crafted gear. And carrying over the augment shoulnt be a problem since hexed gear only had 1 augment to begin with, however I do believe that people with the HQ legion gear should get rewarded. Maybe add a Synergy Synth involving HQ legion gear + NQ cursed gear -----> into new HQ cursed gear (uncursed of course). That way olde money isnt quiet lost totally and you still get the crafting going on for the new gear.

I kinda like how it works for monstrosity gear augment/upgrade system. Build up augments till you csn just upgrade the item then augment again and switch paths without losing progress. They just made the rewards crappy and the effort required kinda dumb

The RNG on Hexed stuff wasn't so bad because you had like a 40% chance of getting the augment you wanted because there was only 2 possibilities (IIRC HQ rate is lower than 50%). RNG stuff is bad when we're looking at ranges of stats, choices of stats, and caps on stats. You're rolling for getting the max number of augments, then rolling to get the stat you want, then rolling again to get the fucking high stat numbers like 3 times. It probably comes out to like a <0.1% chance of actually getting what you want.

To be fair though, the Skirmish stuff wasn't as bad as some of the old Abjurations because there was a handful of those that needed absolutely perfect fucking augments to be useful at all. You can have middle-of-the-line augments for Skirmish stuff and it'd still be great gear, allowing obsessive people to roll the dice over and over if they so chose. That I'm actually okay with, because if you're rolling over and over and then complaining when what you already had was good...well, that was kind of your choice.

Iaso isn't the best in pot anymore.
Khepri head might still have highest waltz potency but it also used to be a great head for it's DD stats... also iirc the stat vomit on other hats have made them better for waltzes anyways.
Khepri body used to be better for more. Also Stack MS which is the only time you should use it thf af4 body is better.
Khepri hands I'm assuming you mean for cor... which would make it still the best for qd. But iirc it also was the best for blu debuffs and wf which they aren't now.
Khepri feet... Wurrukatte Boots had the same amount and now so does Iuitl Gaiters.
Spurrina head.. smn as well and iirc af4 head would be better unless you are already charged or timer is down for sch
Spurrina hands depends on the gearing and how many stones you want to throw at that getting your Hagondes augmented
Tenryu hands... Otronif has the same job is slighlty better offensively much better defensively.
Potency isn't limited to "Potency", sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't think any mage needs the full available Cure Pot+ on head piece in their best cure set of a maxed Gende. Iaso then has 10 healing skill over the next best alternative (and I was lead to believe 10 skill > 10 mnd, I could be wrong). It's also still the more CCT in slot.
Khepri is still ahead of AF4 for SA Mercy according to AF upgrade thread.
Khepri hands were never best for QD, I never mentioned QD. They are still the only MAB hands. Read what I write, not what you interpret.
Khepri Feet are still better than Waru. In equal Snapshot amounts, you must look at other DD stats incase Rapid Shot procs before your Midshot set equips. I hadn't realised Iuitl get Snapshot, however, Iuitl being better has the same argument that you use for Spurrina Hands "depends how many stones you want to throw at it". Spurrina are thus equally as valid as Iuitl.
Spurrina - Good job on stating the obvious for Sch.... come on... you're better than that. And as for smn - If they were never BiS for smn because of caller's horn then they never stopped being BiS, same as Rdm - moot point.
Are most of your examples still useful? Sure. Are they still best in slot for some situations? Sure. Have they been marginalized or lost some of the situations/jobs they were best in slot? You bet.
People have always paid ridiculous amounts of gil for very marginal increases.

Best in slot is still best in slot, the problem is now nott hat the gear has been replaced, which is what I'm arguing, the problem is that either people don't realise they're STILL best, or that they don't give a fuck because most of the players who have the means to pay for, and care enough about those marginal upgrades already have them, or don't give a fuck because their ls already clears the only challenging content.

Never denied the CCT. Though going into that... wouldn't all the 10 fast cast hats do the same? As far as pure curing power yes if you go with the assumption that the extra cure pot on gende is going to waste than on single target cures Iaso will be 5 more to the power portion of the cure formula but 24 less on multi target. Of course if that extra 7 cure pot can allow you change anything else out it will lose even on single cure. Would take alot of playing around with different sets to see where you can change what for best though. But off the top of my head I'd consider gend body, head, roundel earring, bowkus hands to exactly cap. Then there is the higher -enmity, haste for recast, and defensive stats incase you have to be in range.

I'm sorry when I read that I thought you actually had a point not stating random stats. While we are at it Huginn Hose has the most conserve tp!!!! But sure I will correct my statement to best for qd dmg.

Other stats matter on snapshot gear? Good job stating the obvious yourself. As far as better kinda situational if racc/ratt outweights crit rate dex/agi. As far as ituli it's hard to say. It has a much smaller range compared to pet mab on hago which would lead someone to beleive a much better chance to get what you want. But for all we know the distribution is weighted to lower amounts or certain stats. Though I'd lean to it being weighted higher since you can get full range with +2 stone. But if it's completely random getting perfect pet mab is 1/100 while perfect snapshot is 1/30. That said the whole reason I brought up throwing stones is because of the cost if you are already of the mind to spend lots of gil for marginal gains and iutil will be the better option and will on average cost about the same. Which I find is kinda funny considering the cost per synth is 1.5mil now and on release was more like 10mil.

Part of my argument is people are no longer willing to spend as much for as marginal or situational increases. But at the same time matts are still rare and expensive. And lately they've been making stuff be t0.

And the last part you hit upon what I'm talking about. People just aren't buying. Therefore crafters aren't going to craft. Also outdating doesn't just mean making something that was BiS no longer best in slot. People will spend more for something that has a higher amount it is better in that slot and/or in more situations/for more jobs. It doesn't matter one bit if something is still best for 1 thing when you use it for another. As far as the whole everyone has or doesn't care argument... pre soa I had 4 people willing to drop 160mil on -1 jackets but were waiting on gil or to get the abj. iirc the initial gear that came out didn't change it's standings for any job or situation all those people changed their minds and it took me 2 months to unload the last one for 120 mil instead. And that is because of my initial point that started this. The market is scared and while it's not 100% justified it doesn't really matter. Until someone can convince people to buy again I stand by most wont pay and fewer will risk dropping tons in crafting on that. If you have some ideas on that I'm all ears since I'd like to go back to making several mil a synth on average.

Of course all this hexed talk kinda goes around the entire point of new stuff being outdated.

I think you miss the point, noone is gonna spend 120 mil or more on something that WILL be outdated sooner or later. And those pieces are only slightly best in slot/situational. People are holding their gil together for whatever future REM upgrade SE might throw at them and are trying to upgrade all their releven REMs atm. Noone gives a shit anymore about perfect gear, it should be decent/good, cost effectiv not to expensiv and do its job. Thats because everyone knows it will get outdated soon anyway.

We had the same situation back then when lvl cap started to rise during abyssea and shit was getting outdated left and right, market needed at least 1 year + with sidegrades after the final lvl cap raise to stabilize and get a decent economy going.

So apparently SE doesn't realize mythic am3 works on melee mythics... DP getting gimped (no shock with that crazy D on it) and it seems they think the only thing holding gast back is trueflight dmg lol

my english translation was missleading, they are specific talking about ranged weapon aftermath not applying to WSs. They know that melee mythic aftermath applies to WS. They only mentioned death penalty and gastraphetes and the other ranged empy (tough not namely).

EDIT: they are talking about double dmg in specific. Since the aftermath of occ 2-3 attacks is something totally different. They mean any weapon with aftermath double dmg (may it be mythic or empy) wont have this effect applied to WSs. There is no mention of the effect of occ atk 2-3 times.

Perhaps but there reasoning is rather poor at least for the mythics

I would have previously insulted you in this instance, but with my new-found outlook, doing so would not do anything accept boost my own ego and as that is something I don't care about, I won't bother. Instead I will just quote the post that shows it might be worth re-reading a post before replying now and then.

This post still sounds like it's trying to assert an air of superiority over you, but that is purely because i dun tipe gud and is unintentional.

i dont think they've hyped up their version updates like this ever before.. it would only be for expansions and add-ons. that being said the changes coming in the Dec update are huge.. and based on system improvements itself is like ushering in a new era of FFXI.

really do hope they do more stuff like this. i miss that good ol version update "Christmas day" feel. this proves to me that you can have a short update cycle and still achieve that.

altho they appear to be campaign rewards, I hope Zeid and Lion still get back stories for Trust tho.. i'd love to see the fulfilment of Lion's "when all this is over" promise thing.

    also, all dat POL music.

The new years trust spells seem new to me... so far what i've seen about trust was that it's NPCs helping us xp.

That update video is pretty nice.. since the XIV guys get 10 mins of coolness for their upcoming patch. It's nice they gave us a visual of what's to come :D.. I'm.. I'm a little excited.

Now show me those AF119 stats :D

The update also coincides with a Return to Vana'diel campaign, so they are really trying to bolster subscriptions. From Matsui:

One more thing to note is that we will be holding the "Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign" to coincide with the version update. If you've been taking a break, please look into this opportunity to come back and try out all the new content.
