Nothing specific for magic yet as far as I know, they've been talking about wanting to adjust pet/magic stuff as a general thing for a while now. So far they've only really gone into a few details about pet adjustments.
Upcoming 2hander adjustments HAS to be for mainly for DRK and WAR... right? They wouldn't give a blanket buff to all 2H, they don't love SAM THAT much.... right? I was just thinking of Scythe DRK yesterday, lamenting how it's no longer a thing. Maybe that means big buff to Scythe and Great Axe (and to a lesser extent, Polearm - kinda like Katana got a buff this past update but nowhere close to Daggers).
I honestly don't mind the revolving door of super buffs. So many people early in Adoulin were whining about MNK being overpowered (just like SAM later, and now Rudra's) and skeptical of S-E's response of "we don't want to nerf, don't worry we'll buff other jobs to make them competitive". Well, look at where we are now with SAM, THF, DNC, BLU moving to the top of the heap due to buffs. By the end of this, MNK is going to be lowest tier DD if there's a decent bump for non-SAM 2handers. I'm sort of OK with everyone getting their turn in the spotlight...
What I DO mind:
That sounds like a horrible update. Alluvion Skirmish is terrible, focusing on Job Points/Gifts is more terrible. At this point they need to be giving some hope for a new mini-expansion or large scale event, because I can't see a lot of people sticking around to grind CP so they can be slightly stronger in Skirmish v5 for the privilege of atrocious random augment system.
So no reforged empy any sooner than march. Hahahahahahaha.
So funny, not.
infinite upward spiral of buffs until we can just oneshot everything.
So meh Feb update, and Jan is just a "catch up on shit we promised but didn't have the manpower to do". That's pretty disappointing, especially considering we've been having nothing but subpar updates for a while now.
What's so terrible about an event that's not out yet? Rala/Cirdas Alluvion was even mildly fun, it was just gimped from the start because surprise, it's weapons. With RMEs continuing to be relevant, they're kinda hard pressed to make these weapons competitive, if even very useful at all. The augment system was a step in the right direction, but still flawed with getting screwed by the RNG. I'll be excited to augment any armor as I see fit, MAB on melees that lack it, melee stats on mage gear, etc. As long as the same system for the weapons carries over, I think it'll be at least a mild success.
Besides, at least this update will add more things to do. The last three updates have given us so very little content to actually do. Sure, it's had great updates, one handed WSs, 2x chat logs, introducing the Wanted NM system, etc. But as far as actual content to do? We haven't had anything really new since Avatar BCs which has really hampered my, and most that I know, drive to do much.
The great thing about the monthly updates was they were keeping up with decent amounts of content for quite awhile. Skirmish tier, Delve II, new BCs, etc. It almost kinda blitzed us, there were plenty of times where the next content would come out while you were still doing the last. Three months with nothing but a few Wanted NMs for the past 2 months has really set things back though, IMO.
The skirmish augment system would be a lot better if ranges for specific stats were made smaller and each stone did less things. i don't mind there being loads of different stones (now that there's an NPC that holds them for you) as long as I can more accurately target the stats that I want.
The lack of beefy stuff until February is disappointing for sure. I was afraid they would burn themselves out with all that content![]()
HQ stones should allow you to pick a stat out of the mix
Yeah, I think the best augment system they've added to date is the WKR one. Get to pick augments from a fixed pool and no random BS but also not simply upgrading like Magian trials were. If they could apply a similar mechanic to future augmented gear that would be great.
They clearly don't want that.
Being it random => people keept trying until they get what they want => people stay busy => content is a success because is not ignored 2 weeks after release like everything else.
This is their mindset, but they failed into delivering something that could be mildly long lasting but not frustrating at the same time. Skirmish augment system is TERRIBLY frustrating, way too random.
I kinda liked magian.... but my complete favorite is the monstrosity one (well except how you got the upgrade items). You could chose and build up on a path just like delve but then evolve it into a new piece like magians which can then be further augmented
Famitsu's "Vanadiel Communication" had a post SoA mission conclusion interview that was recently published with the devs, curious if there's anything good in there.

SE pls
I've had Apoc for years and I'm more than 10k alex into lolberator. This would be my dream.
Though, honestly Cata is pretty goddamn strong for what it does as it is. I'd be fine with them leaving it how it is now. I see spikes of up to 8k+ pretty often and that's without scarlet delirium. And fuck an accuracy mod on Insurgency, gimme crit >:D

Thanks in advance Kincard <3
This is fucking awesome, period.
