No plans for grips either I suppose.

No big deal. Obis/Belts/Gorgets was the main thing for me.

Well grips are outdated now anyways. Satchets are kinda meh to use right now. Gotta wait for an elemental attack and then macro one in for that particular element.... if they merged them I could see it being used though

Wouldn't a chatoyant grip be bis at least for macc? That's supposing the +2 bonus is "affinity" and not plain macc of course.

Either way Fuck grips and satchels. I'm happy enough with the rest!!!

Yes it would. It literally would be the same macc as a chat staff (well minus the base stat contribution)... which is part of the reason I can reasonably say that no it isn't. I think everyone and there mom would've noticed if the throw away items from znms were getting as much macc out of those grips as there hq staffs... plus affinity didn't exist until several years after that I don't even think elemental mab existed till 99 either

Looking at that club to the right of Idris, that looks more like a "Mace" type weapon, which is mainly a WHM (and sometimes PLD) staple. Perhaps they will make "Ergon" weapons for the other jobs as well?

Other jobs already have their "Ergon" weapons and they're called "Mythic"

Wait grips are affinity? Seems unlikely given that grips are often tiny, miniscule boosts, +15macc even to one element seems quite strong for a preilvl grip.

If they followed the potency on staves, the grips would be +30 macc. There are plenty of other items with the "Elemental Magic Accuracy" wording where it clearly doesn't work that way thou, like +28 on Melisseus Staff, +10 on Augur's Jaseran, etc., so I doubt the grips are anything special.

That club screenshot is from the new jobs page of the adoulin site so i imagine it will be geo only. So i doubt it will be whm/pld. Are both the run g swords from the same page in game? I know one is but im not sure about the red one. I dont recall what the ergon Gsword looks like.

There is almost no chance that grips are affinity.

I would have thought that the red ergon Georgia O'Keeffe sword would have stuck in almost anyone's mind.

The geo one was probably changed to a bell later in development. Notice how the run weapons are Ergon and Oboro. So that's likely Dunna, notice how she holds it

edit: looks actually to be an upside down bell

Forget preilvl this was back during the 75 cap... could you really imagine 30 macc grips back at 75 way before affinity even existed?

So currently there are 6 job point categories per job. Given that, the first 95 job points spent grant all current Gifts.
Since SE said they don't reaquire people to max out JP to get all gifts, it's within reason that the proportion of JP categories:gifts will remain the same. So 6 categories, 95JP for all gifts, that's ~15.8JP per category. Since they are releasing only 2 categories this update, to preserve the current ratio, it may be that they're only release enough gifts past 95JP up to like 125 JP. To release another 12 gifts for only 2 new JP categories would push players to needed way more JP relative to gifts, and like I said, SE said earlier that they would like players to spend JP in categories they see fit and it will never require players to come anywhere near maxing out every category to acquire all gifts.

So i would hypothesis that given they're only releasing 2 JP categories, they'll release 3-4 gifts, spread out anywhere between 95 and 125JP. So maybe 100, 110, 115, 120, 125. Maybe the Elemental spells will be at the 110 and 125 marker for BLM/SCH/RDM/GEO. Probably BLM gets the AoE and the others get the single target version? Just conjecture. But yeah if they gave us 12 gifts for 6 JP categories, doubt they'll give 12 more for adding only 2 categories. What do you guys think?

I think you're looking a bit too much into it, but tbh I mostly agree. I think we'll get 4-6 with two of them being +5% CP, with mages getting additional ones if the spells are new tiers, like 6 more Gifts for Blm if they got each AM3. The bolded doesn't really matter IMO. They also said at JPs introduction that they would be weak, miniature bonuses granted for grinding on a job. Now we're getting spells, JAs, powerful stats, getting boosted CP rates, gear, etc. It's turned into their new leveling system. Not that I'm against it, but until it's in game, I'm taking what they say about the system as conjecture rather than fact. With that said, I highly doubt that there won't eventually be a sort of capstone available for each job at the max JP mark, though I'm sure that's years away.

Well I don't think the same proportions will hold true... the first set were kinda testing the waters so the proportions were probably low for what they ultimately intended to bait us into it. Plus I could very well see them using the whole well a bunch of the gifts we already have are increased cp rate so you will be able to get cp faster so we should have even higher gifts!

They said gifts would be icing and never required. It would be to make content easier, so i dont see them adding too many gifts cuz it would start to be a requirement it buffed melee acc or mage macc enough to simulate a higher ilvl. A whole other set of 12 gifts would mean you would need to acquire enough JP to max out 50% of all JP categories, whereas currently you only need 95/330 jp to cap, less than 1/3. If they follow the same formula: 8 categories, 55 JP to cap, another 12 Gift at 95JP. So it would be 190JP/440JP to cap a second page of gifts, assuming theyre the same JP cost as the first page(95*2=190). Currently 95/330 to cap gifts is like 28% job point leveled to get all gifts. 190/440 would be about 43%. I doubt it'll be that high, it's a bit much. Should probably keep it fair at about 30-33% of JP categories maxed to cap gifts not half.
