While I don't discount that what makes me scratch my head is if they don't have any to/they can report why are they giving us these non announcements? Like is the guy in charge of announcements having to justify his job lol?

Like HR is calling down hey you better put out 3 announcements this month or get fired...

It's possible that while they have a PR policy of releasing X amount of information blurbs per week before an update, the dev team actually working on said thing hasn't completely finalized everything.

i think all the ressources are being put on FF14 1. expansion Heavensward so it gets finished in time and not on something FF11 related.

A simple disclaimer that they have used in the past is "Any of these announced things can change or be cancelled before the update." I rather them give me some info with that disclaimer than pointless click bait they have been usin the last few months.

And they have started to not give us that break down of what is comin in the update just before it happens. You know the post with all the tables talkin about "create system for blah blah."

You guys are spoiled. Remember pre-forum days when you had no idea when an update was coming, no feedback, maybe occasional vague roadmap or teaser. Mostly every update felt like christmas because you never knew what changes they would ninja in that were left out of the teasers that would surprise you(for better or worse) on update day.

It's a matter of being in 2015. Standards have changed, what was acceptable in 2005 isn't necessarily still acceptable now "otherwise you're spoiled", lol

Ehhh I have to minorly disagree. Some people are legitimately spoiled and demand far too much. I like the new era where they give us some information on whats to come, but I still miss that mystery of each update too... I mean, christmas would still be christmas if you knew all your presents, but it loses some of the fun. For me anyway.

Won't stop me from reading the information as it comes though - What can i say, I love mystery but I love knowing too.

Fujito: It's time for this week's summary! Today, Matsui's not feeling too well, and Mocchi's taking a summer vacation (?), so I'm here filling in alongside Ito. It's cold out recently, everyone make sure to stay healthy.

I dunno how things work in Japan, but maybe they didn't plan ahead about what would be announced and they didn't bother bugging Matsui or Mocchi about what to actually announce. They've done well enough for the past year+ with teasers, this is the only instance that comes to mind where the teasers themselves gave so little info.

Thought the same when I read that post from Kincard. Yeah, I think it's very much possible.

Talking about Kincard and the interview he translated in late november/early december, I just noticed something I missed last time.
They talk about reforged AF3 once again and they say it's "still way off". If they said that then, it kinda means Reforged AF3 is not comin in march either, not even in april and may, likely.
Supposing what me and other people have been hypothyzing (patches last months sucked so much because they're developing something behind the curtains) this could mean they're working on a mini-expansion or something, and that reforged AF3 will be connected to that somehow.
If I were to bet on something I'd say we won't see them before june, at least, probably later, after summer =/

It's kinda a type of wait that's killing me, it's been over 1 year, 80% of gear since reforged AF2 feels more like something, mostly sidegrades, to buy time as we wait for the next real interesting step (reforged AF3).
I know that maybe thinks won't be like that realistically, but it sure *feels* like that =/

I don't think 11's resources are tied to 14 at all anymore. The game isn't being funded by 11 subs anymore. All the devs that went to fix it stayed on the 14 team as far as I know. I think the only resource the games share is the community team.

As for old updates feeling like "Christmas" that was because they were often 5-6 months apart and therefore had a ton of content in them. It was also the era of back to back expansion releases. I'm in the boat of not really caring if we know all the details of the update days beforehand, but it's still annoying to get "teasers" that say literally nothing yet are presented with shine and fanfare as if they did. The job adjustment page had info about job adjustments. Why couldn't they do the same for the job point categories? One theory is they're not done with them yet, but then, why post anything at all?
