Sure they could do it but it would be the first time they do something like that °-°
If the goal of those fights is also making you "re-live" the past experiences, I'm sure quite a few people would complain if they were to change the zone.
Personally I'd accept the compromise with open arms, but that's just me.
Should be getting a "Wyrmking Decends" and "Dawn" fight sooner or later. Also a Ragnarok fight against Alexander, and purple is the new black.
Need some ilvl soboro too
I mean, if congestion wasn't a consideration when making it the first time then I don't see why it would be now when gathering an alliance at all is a major task.
I dunno, I think the biggest gating back then wasn't the fact an alliance was required, but rather that the entry item was a random drop from another BC.
In a scenario where everybody can buy the entry item with Merits overcrowding MIGHT become an issue on some time-zones at least.
Granted it would never get as bad as the AAs back in the days of course.
Congestion wasn't an issue because they weren't merit BCs you could do whenever you wanted, you needed a low drop rate item from ENMs to enter. The rewards were also shit, so not many players bothered with it.
And just because the content is aimed at an alliance nowadays doesn't mean it will actually require it, look at ilvl divine might. Adding extra bodies doesn't even do much of anything anymore when nearly all of your damage comes from two players doing skillchain regardless.
Even worse than that!
Low drop rate from ENM to enter Ouryu > orb from Ouryu to enter Baha V2.
Preposterous! The rewards were also shit, so not many players bothered with it.
There were at least a couple of nice drops, staff being one, and it dropped the mats to craft Sha'ir Manteel!
Of course over time those drops got devaluated, but when Baha v2 was released there was some nice stuff in there.
I don't remember Ouryu drops instead, I apologize.
The staff had no real value over elemental staves. The only decent thing besides crafting mats from either fight was the scythe, which could be used as a poor mans kraken club for SE zerg after hasso/desperate blows were added.
Smn wasn't exactly scraping for inventory space, and even so it's only +4 since you'd still carry earth/dark/light. If you played any other mage jobs bahamut staff itself was -1 overall inventory. Siphon wasn't added until after wotg.
Enmity on a head piece without haste doesn't sound very useful back than. You could macro it into JAs I guess, but most threat came from melee/cure/flash/stun/etc.
Make it 40 merits to enter. Bam, there's your gate.
Extreme, low droprate gating isn't needed anymore because again, gathering 18 (who all individually meet the requirements) people for something isn't easy. They would probably also have to not release a VE or E mode as well, though.
Plds could melee with it for tanking wyrms. Meleeing in walhara turban was a liability back then becuse it had no def, and if you didnt have homam head, hrotti+bahamut mask was pretty nice.
The return of Zoolater Hat
Ok so, let's see if I get it right:
Camahueto ==> Geush Urvan? (dropped the Toreador's Cape, nice until I found out the hidden effect...)
Muut ==> Xolotl (Zoolater Hat, Perseus Harpe and Bandomusha Kote but... given how we basically already got the Kote from Shadow Lord not sure they're gonna add em)
Immanibugard ==> Kurrea or Megalobugard? (acc/racc pants, herc's ring)
Tiyanak ==> Upyri (Vampire Cloak, vampire stuff, lots of time of day related shit. The earring they showed is likely the new version of Vampire Earring, pretty meh if you ask me)
But clearly things are gonna be a bit of a mix. There's gonna be updated stuff (see the earring) and new stuff as well (see the Scythe, which is pretty new).
Speaking of which, didn't they promise fixes to Scythe some time ago? Haven't heard anything ever since...
Camahueto is Bonnacon. That is where the scythe is from(Tredecim Scythe). Cure clogs nm.
Ah >< nvm then.
Was Geush Urvan even a Buffalo? I fought it only twice long time ago and I remember it was a mess.
Pretty sure clogs will be the other drop from Camahueto then.
Guess Vampire Cloak as the second drop from Tiyanak?
No clue what to hope for from Xolotl, but given the fact that Onimusha-no-kote exist, I'm kinda hoping for something other than Bandomusha from him.
