True but I wouldn't read too much into exact English side verbage. Especially since it hasn't been released yet and there noticeable lack or proof reading lately. And aren't the relic ones all for specific debuffs based on number of merits? Kinda hard to parallel that
Barely better than a mythic* sam, maybe? From what I've seen, an average THF is decimating your average SAM. Any THF can go learn Rudra's, save to 2k TP, and ws harder than any other job in the game, combined with the rarely-resisted skillchain damage any little fuck can think they're a superstar on THF. It's the flavor of the month, and it's pure shit for the job. Reducing Rudra's to 5/10/13 (or something similar) for fTP wouldn't destroy its ability to damage, but might create a better overall playstyle for the job. The job has been made a one-trick pony and I absolutely hate it. As much fun as it can be seeing those 99999 darkness damage shots, it really takes away from any feeling of difficulty in the game.
I don't want the job to be a one-trick pony, I want it to require solid gear and knowledge to utilize well, and making the gear requirement and TP usage more significant would help greatly in that regard. I also want my Mercy Stroke back.
Dunno what to say.
Personally I'm pretty much enjoying the current status of THF and DNC. Not sure if it will last long.
But despite me liking it I'm not sure it's balanced to keep things this way. Rudra was already in a good position before the last (second) WS buff, they could and maybe should have left Rudra where it was after the first WS buff (other WSs kinda needed the second buff tho)
I dont get how people whined about THF being a one trick pony, with TH being the only viable use for many people, and wanting to be a better DD and then they finally get it and now people still arent happy. People can bitch about anything I guess.
I think people wanted THF to be a bit better and a viable DD, not the best effort/reward which is a bit too much, hence people (some?) are complaining again. Me? Not much, I'm abusing it lol. I'm just saying I'm not sure I think it's going to be healthy in the long run, maybe yes? Dunno.
It's just that in the current state the game is in it's difficult to give the right measure to changes, which is probably why most of the latest changes have been so "extreme". It's easy to hit one of the extremes on the 2 sides, it's harder hitting the right spot in the middle, wherever it may be.
I never had trouble keeping up before, though I'll admit to never going against top of the line geared players. Would have liked to, but not sure my server even has them. The thing is they didn't buff THF, they gave us an "I win" button. It also considerably changed the playstyle. Before I enjoyed attempting to keep Mandau aftermath up while spamming evisceration in between. Now it's get to 1750 TP, blow my load, get to 1750 TP again, wait for timers, herp derp 50% of the groups damage. I completely outclass every single other person I play with (of course, this still includes other THF's...) even if they're good at their jobs. Did a unity NM last night and the other DD in the group was complaining about how boring it is now that his entire role is to simply get tp and open sc for a THF and I agree with the guy. Rudra's was far too much, and as long as it's on top, THF isn't likely to get much more, and I'd rather get something to do with crit rate or triple attack, that's a more fun stat to me.
Rudra's is overpowered as shit right now. The only thing that really saves it is that most people don't know what the fuck they're doing when it comes to skillchaining.
Lets say you have a job with a Gravitation WS (like DNC) and 2 THFs as DDs in a party. Most groups would . . . spam Rudra's and stack it with SA or TA or CF when possible. Alternatively, they could do SA Rudra's (THF1) -> SA Mandalic (THF2 - Fusion) -> Evisceration (DNC - Gravitation) -> TA Rudra's (THF1 - Darkness) -> TA Rudra's (THF2 - Double Darkness). It would take at least 20 seconds, but would also do at least 220k damage (20k crit Rudra's) and could easily do over 400k damage.
If you're going to have one DD, might as well bring a SAM. If you're going to have two or more DDs, bring something that can skillchain with Rudra's and a Thief.
I feel like a lot of the grumbling would vanish if SE just added mobs with gigantic HP pools. On the other hand, simply making things mobile punching bags (especially for other job combos) isn't really fun in a different way. So are we just back to XI not really being a hard game relative to skill required?a
My theory (and this is based somewhat on a comment made about new gifts) is that with the expansion "winding down" they're looking to make it easier to clear the older content. If they don't put any nerfs in, they might try to rebalance things with another expansion sometime. This would be another idea taken from other MMO's/WoW. So they don't care if stuff that has been out for months gets easier, though I wonder if they'll tune the final WKR/Delve to be truly hard or not. God I hope it's not an Umbril.
Also, on higher HP pools, absolutely. Especially for Unity content, a 15min timer is pointless when it dies in a minute. It should be around 5min for the geared and 10+ for the not-so-geared.
The "Final WKR"?
What did you drink exactely this morning Kanriel?![]()
I could have swore there was always going to be a 7th WKR/Delve, have I been mistaken the whole time?
Edit: BGWiki -
"The most fearsome beasts to roam the overworld of the Ulbukan Continent are the seven Naakuals (JP: 七支公, lit: Leaders of the Seven Branches). These bloodthirsty creatures reign over the lands in which they are present with the local wildlife at their beck and call. Naakuals can only be challenged by pioneers who are brave and experienced enough to participate in Wildskeeper Reive battles. Each Naakual is the warlord of its monster archetype and is strongly aligned with one of the eight elements.
Six of the seven Naakuals are currently accessible. While the Naakuals were originally presented with tiered difficulty, all of the Naakuals are now set to Content Level 16 to provide useful rewards for all participants. The final Naakual will be added to an unknown territory as the colonization of the Ulbukan wilds continues. Little is known about this final Naakual, but it is likely to preside over the Amorphs and be aligned with the dark element."
I would advise you to finish the missions. The Wiki is a bit out of date, I suppose.
SPOILERS:
Spoiler: show
Apparently you've never bothered doing the missions.
I'm on 4-1, been doing them since I haven't been able to unlock the final KI for lowering imprit timer and think missions might be a prereq (hard to find solid info on it anywhere). Going to avoid that spoiler, as I think the story is actually pretty good. Kinda disappointing if there's no more "content" to unlock, though...
I wouldn't be aurprised if they add a post mission endgame "delve" area where you challenge Sajjaka. Only because SE said through several NPCs including WotG npc befote SoA came out, that dragons were plentiful in Adoulin. Fast forward to actual adoulin and the only dragons in the whole expansion are puks in incursion. Oops. However, a 7th light based delve based on mount kahmir would be pretty cool, as sajjaka has reign over the adoulin dragons it seems(though never shown). SE really dropped the ball with their own lore, and a 7th/8th delve in involving an all demon zone and an all dragon zone could have been fun. Also isnt it weird that delve bosses only ever drop hands/feet/legs/head. Seem like they purposely left bodies out.
The only negative with a KI would be either the worthlessness of the system (with Rakaznar drop rate) or the bloat to do a single 6man pop (Yorcia drop rate).
I agree that it would give a great deal of incentive to do A!Yorcia. (Aside from the new bodies)
But I wouldn't want the KI.
A single roll for augments vs a stackable roll for augments.
If it does come from A!Yorcia, then holyshitballs does A!Yorcia's drop table have a LOT of clutter. (All Alluvion weapons, 15 armor pieces, both wings, all the bajillion types of skirmish stones, plus the new item? So much RNG clutter.)
EDIT: and Byrth, you forgot to have that DNC ternary flourish that Evisceration for even MORE stupid damage.
Why would old base weapons drop in the new skirmish?
Are people asking for more cultural foods in a video game? This is what counts as pressing matters to the JP community?
