Changing ardor to effect the mob is good at least.
It was some time ago...I might be able to track it down but basically they said they were considering changing Abyssea Quests so you could repeat them without zoning, but I think the goal for this was mainly for questing emp seals. They most likely abandoned those plans when they started giving away seals during login campaigns.
"Additionally, enmity will have an increase cap and enmity gained from damage dealt will be adjusted, making a party's enmity levels easier to manage."
Unless they mean different caps for different jobs (which I doubt) I'm skeptic about this producing anything meaningful.
I'm glad they're FINALLY reducing avatar KI battle cost and really curious to see the stats on reforged Empy gear.
SE: "Were nerfing Rudra's cause of Ardor and skillchain damage...and a couple other insignificant WS's too, but this is mostly cause of ardor's mechanics and thf's penchant for attacking fast"
Playerbase: THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT FUCK YOU
SE: "Were not even going to add Ardor now lol"
lol, oh SE
It's still being held off till next update due to the changes they're making to it. I'm not sure what the shock is about. That said, I have doubts it will do anything to help non-SAM DD at all.
I'm curious as to what they are doing to do when they say they are "Adding system to enhance pets" in Alluvion Skirmish. I know they can't make it so the mobs don't aggro pets because spaghetti code, but I don't mind that since I can use it to kite mobs if we ever get into a bad situation and just need some time. If you enhance pets... I can't imagine them letting us flat out kill mobs with it. SMN is already pretty awesome, and that would be too much.
Looks like Vagary is very similar to Delve.
At first glance from what we know now, it kinda looks like a third tier of Delve, with a new currency.
Looking great to me, I loved T1 Delve.
Hmmm, enmity changes. Higher cap is still just a palliative. But I wonder in what way they're going to adjust dmg dealt enmity? That'll be the key factor for whether this actually makes any differnce.
The thing is... we were all expecting a third Alluvion Skirmish right? For the fourth stone type. If they use Ra'Kaznar, where will the third one be? Could it be that the new stones will come from Vagary? I'm just a bit confused.
Why should a Fourth stone drop from Vagary at all? o.O What is your logic exactely?
I'm not getting why you expect a 4th Skirmish to NOT happen because Vagary will use Ra'kaz_U.
I mean, maybe a 4th Skirmo won't happen, but why because of that?
Not like Skirmish1 and Alluvion1 didn't use Cirdas_U, just like Delve1. Naaah it totally didn't, right?
Btw if a 4th Skirmish will be coming (certainly not anytime soon but also certainly before november) it doesn't necessarily mean there will be a 4th type of Stone.
They could "close the circle" by making Dusk (common) and Snow (rare) drop there.
That way we would have:
1) Rala/Cirdas => Snow common, Leaf rare
2) Yorcia => Leaf common, Dusk rare
3) Ra'kaz => Dusk common, Snow rare.
They would need to make up something else to "offer" people though.
If they raise the ilevel they could offer that, but I doubt it's going to happen.
They could offer us a KI to enhance gear with static Augments using a 4th slot on each item, maybe.
Either way, isn't it a bit too soon to be thinking about the new Skirmish, with Vagary finally about to be released in a few days?
@Martel
Unless they make an enmity cap so high and damage>enmity conversion so low that it's almost impossible to reach it in most situations, I doubt a higher cap would solve anything.
Sure, it would take more time to reach it, but once you do the situation would be pretty similar to the one we have now.
What was the solution Byrth proposed? Making the conversion be dynamic and related to the target's hp?
Honestly I don't think they will ever solve it unless they give specific job traits to the three tanks currently in-game. The enmity system by itself is pretty complex, do other MMOs even have the 2+ separate Enmity indicators that FFXI has?
Maybe they will make Dusk common and a 4th stone super rare that will add super crazy shit to weapons like aftermath, weaponskills n shit
Are we talking about the same SE who wanted to turn RME weapons into irrelevant and made many other weapons comparable to them in terms of damage to limit the "RME or nothing" attitude that we saw in the Voidwatch era?
About the SE who's trying to make the game more accessible to casual gamers?
Unless there have been pretty big and radical changes of perspective in their offices I highly doubt that's going to happen. 4th stone still possible of course, but I can see them implement it with a very different approach.
Thus why I said a higher cap was just a palliative, ie not a real solution.
Also, I thought it was dasva who proposed the HP based dmg enmity?
but again, that's why the key here is how they adjust it. If they just lower it again, it's probably not going to help significantly. If they change the scaling to something that actually makes sense(like the HP method) maybe we'll get a semi functional enmity system. Hah, who am I kidding? <,<
