Well, to be fair, I'd call up to -350 evasion more than "really good".
Well, to be fair, I'd call up to -350 evasion more than "really good".
The thing is though, that there was absolutely nothing in the entire world you could do to make it land on lv135 content. So it was only so good.
Then, if the MACC buff is enough to make it land on stuff that matters, it's a buff instead of a nerf, right?
I would say so. Though I wouldn't waste the charges for EVA-40 on anything I'd be using lizard on. Especially if they implement the pet SC nerf, because then you really will never be using lizard on anything that matters.
Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, it's just some inconsequential change.
I like how Grekumah's post says they aren't going to gimp BST and then goes on to explicitly say that they are going to gimp BST.
It might be depends on the situation. It's potency is lowered enough that it might not even really be worth using... especially since it probably shares a slot with more powerful evasion downs like Distract II....
Anyways I'm hoping they didn't notice their oversight with gimping infrasonics... or I suppose you could call it making it the same as the blu version
Even with that nerf it would still be significantly better than the blu version. -40 evasion for ~3 minutes vs -20 for ~1 minute.
Oh I though blu was 40 as well... that said the average evasion down might not be that different since pet debuffs still have 1 major flaw... they don't show up in the chat log. So you really have to guess when to reapply them. Or just redo it every 93 seconds or so and waste charges
Didn't SE say they were going to fix that a long time ago?
I think they ended up saying something like they can't. It seems like they really want to push bst into just throwing out jugs that spam dmg moves and not much else. Which is nice I suppose since they are decent at it but I always kind of liked the unique debuffs that jugs had.
The focus thing looks useful.
Should just make it to display status of who you target, without requiring you to focus the person...
Well, glad I have Yag. lol
having yag or being able to read the chat log and react accordingly quick enough makes this basically useful for when youre fighting a mob for the first time to see what its moves do. That and doom.
Whelp, somehow thought focus replaces that
It just keeps it up instead like if its a tank and you are a healer.
I wish it would keep the focused player displayed... But swap displaying to whomever you have targeted.
Though in this backline heavy endgame we currently have... I guess it's not too bad for it not to be dynamic.
EDIT: These BST adjustments are obviously their way to "encourage" players to play BST "properly," eg: being on the mob with the pet.
Basically a reverse PUP situation.
(For those too young, PUP was envisioned by SE to be a backline job and to send the autos in to attack and whatnot while you /WHM and be an even worse backup healer than SMN. But players looked at how only one frame was a legit frontline job (valoredge) and called BS on that, opting for punching things while the auto supports/nukes/ranged.)
Then again it's only really recently that BST has gone SMN style: staying in the back, swapping weapons with each action, with weapons being valued more for stats than for DPS. At least on content that matters anyways.
But then BSTs being reluctant to engage NMs is because of SE's hardon for stupid deathga nonsense... So... It's not surprising that the job's play style has evolved as it has.
This probably means that the SC nerf will be BST only. Though hopefully will be negated during Unleash.
Otherwise.... That's a stupid massive nerf to a 1hr ability.
I'm not sure what you're asking for here. As far as I can tell (And from my experience with FF14), it'll show both the status effects of the player you have targeted, and the player you have focussed, so you should be able to have two sets of buffs visible at one time.
I imagine the buffs of the person you have targeted will appear above the party list/target window, and the focus person next to the compass, near the bottom left, as shown. It seems like a swish improvement to Wide-Scan targeting.
So I'll be able to see the status of other players but still not my pets... gg SE
