Don't you guys think the new BLU spells will be bound behind Unbridled Wisdom?
Yup, which is the primary reason they'll be trash. MDB down is the only interesting part, and I'm expecting it to not be very much more than what can already be done by Benthic or Acrid. Mighty Guard has the biggest potential, but it has to be real nice to beat Harden Shell for defensive oshit UL instead of using UL on Tourbillion.
Doesn't the MDB down debuff from jugs/blu spells/shattersoul stack with Malaise, so Tearing Gust may make things an even bigger joke.
Maybe Mighty Guard will be Protectra V + Shellra V.
BLU aint getting a 30min spell duration even from a UL spell.
All regular debuffs stack with geo ones. As far as MDB down goes though all non geo ones seem to share a slot so yeah it would have to beat out all the other ones and then only matter if you weren't already hitting the mdb min cap that SE decided to put on mobs because apparently making all mobs take infinite magic dmg from all sources isn't a good thing
I am expecting new WSs by november. August has just so many unique motions for each weapon, that i am expecting that to happen. i doubt the Dev Team would go out create so many animations just for a trust ¬.¬
Either via new legendary weapons or via Job point.
1 in 1000 chance of new WS aug from Alluvion Ra'Kaz stone which is a 1 in 100 chance drop from final bossEither via new legendary weapons or via Job point.
2100JP = job specific WS would be cool
I'm honestly surprised they haven't put in WS augments by now to make the same skills work somewhat differently per job.
Are you implying that new legendary weapons wouldn't, instead?
I'm not sure how I feel about this.
There are plenty of NPC/Trusts with very special animations, so from this what Damane is saying loses a bit of relevance.
At the same time though the amount of animation work they put into August is indeed higher than average, and it's all about WS animations that could easily* be transported unto players.
Not sure what to think.
Would they put so much work unto so many many animations just for a trust?
Maybe not, but what if those animations were originally meant with a bigger role (like August being an active part of missions that got scrapped during the course of SoA's life?) and got ultimately repurposed into "only" a trust to avoid wasting all that work?
Given their past loathe for legendary weapons I don't really see them releasing a 4th category of them and reviving something they worked so hard to kill.
At the same time though, what else could they put in november patch to give players a long time goal?
So... who knows, it could happen.
I'd rather have them update the current RME than creating a 4th category if you ask me, but regardless of that I'm not 100% sure that a 4th category of legendary weapon will never happen, as I was sure say 3+ months ago.
Many things have changed, maybe they changed their minds too.
*relatively easily because they would need different animations for each gender/race. Let me remind you that each race/gender has different animations for each WSs.
They disliked legendary weapons because they limited their ability to do vertical creep. Now that the game is shutting down, they have zero reason to not add a final set.
I never thought about ws being JP locked. Interesting idea that can work...I mean it will be nightmare to cap but I strongly believe double to triple CP bonuses will be part of the final Rhapsody line so it may actually be possible for midcore players to cap and get them.
Maybe expand total completion type tracking. Records of Eminence already provides the framework and quite a lot of tracking. They could put very long term goals in, like landmark JP totals for every job. The big thing that's lacking, offhand, is a direct benefit for total objectives completed. Individual rewards for some of them are good, like the CP% for mission series, but having a Gift list for that could provide some additional progression that would give benefits to players of every level...but likely only be fully completed by a few.
Could mix it up a lot too, like give Trusts boosts (or stuff like Apururu II to see more variety in Unity membership), bonuses to crafting, movement speed+, etc.
Interestingly enough I'm seeing a backlash in a decent amount of players to even the slightest idea of long term goals. Lots of talk about how this isn't the old days and who is going to grind anything these days so why play... but they also have no answer when I ask them why play an MMO that they can basically beat and do so relatively quickly
I'm sure just like Bahlran, August has a set of legendary arms.
I don't know if they will gate the weapon skills behind the weapon, since they always end up giving those to us anyway (save for relic). I'm worried about job specific weapon skills because certain jobs with the same weapon usually get screwed compared to others, i.e. bard will get an awesome dagger ws, while dnc gets some kind of aoe HP heal version of Moonlight. Or PLD will get an MP version of Sanguine Blade while BLU would get some 8 hit crit ws. I'd rather them do weapon specific like merit ws/empyrean than job specific like mythic.
