    like all the other nifty QoL changes, i think its probably a matter of too little too late?

    Each of the town zones could benefit from maybe 4-5 HPs placed in strategic positions. Part of the problem was that they used the original positions of some of the town HPs, and also that they didn't seem to place them very strategically?
    The way I see it, 1 HP should be in front of MH, which they've done. 1 near the AH if any. 1 near exit where theres a gate guard or some kind of hub npc (outpost tele/survival guide) if they don't overlap with something prior, or other zone exits.. and extras near obscure parts of the zone, like the Alchemist guild one they put in Bastok Mines.

    like.. Adoulin clearly has too many waypoints, but the other towns need just a couple more HPs. They unified global teleportation too late in the game.. especially after offering so many other lackluster teleport networks. its a pity.

    the new status timers thing is great tho. it really makes you wonder what else they've always been able to do but have refused to. i hope these efforts arent wasted and make it over to the app version.

    Good example of teleporter placements gone wrong is Port Bastok imo.

    in that sense sandiria has it done right. but luckily sandoria isnt also a giant open clusterfuck of nothingness unlike bastok and windurst. imho sandi is the bedt town to gave as your base nation because its build very tight and ergonomic. i still curse windurst when i look for an NPC there. bastok is somewhere inbetween

    I think they should put a Home point in all the extreme ends of a city at the very least. Its very annoying when a zone has like 4-6 HPs and they are all on one end and nothing at the far end. Like south sandy before they added the HP near the leather guild. All the HPs were from the auction house on toward mog house. So if you had to go to the leather guild or were unfortunate enough to need to go to the counts house way at the end you were in for a walk #1stWorldProblems.

    I'm just hoping they don't do something dumb like make her a 12th unity leader that unlocks upon completion of RoV.
    There's 11 at the moment, so it'll probably stay there... But... This is SE.
    (Also miffed at the lack of Coalition leader Trusts. I'd like a Flavira that doesn't demand my loss of Yoran. Plus the other two as well... Having only 3/6... >:-[ It's like the Serpent Generals, need the whole set! )

    Wonder how many other player misconceptions there are. I have never questioned the idea that hallowed was superior to holy water. Now when are they gonna tell us that day/moon/direction is bunk?

    Someone in my linkshell said they commented on this back sometime in the abyssea era, that moon/direction had no effect on crafting. I've never been able to find the quote though....

    It's pretty obvious day/moon and direction don't do crap for crafting for anyone that has crafted in the last decade. Moon phase does affect fishing, though.

    The weirdest Home Point placements are Rabao and Norg having 2 for some reason, while Kazham (which could actually use 1 near the exit) still has 1.

    Tavnazian Safehold's mildly annoying with only one HP. Stick one downstairs for easier access to Sealion's Den (and Aqueducts), next to my favorite NPC Ironclad Gorilla.

    HP next to Dynamis-Beaucedine and Xarcabard entrances would be nice too. They did the Limbus entrances, so why not the Dyna zones that aren't already near a HP?

    Fujito in the Dev summary of the week post, seems to hint that there is a vorseal when you complete mog gardens quest "Hypnotic Hospitality" and "Chacharoon's cheer"

    The day when the devs say that direction and/or moon do nothing at all for crafting will be the day i tell my entire linkshell: "I told you so"
    Oh the sweetness... what delicious nectar i shall be drinking, angels will be singing songs, nymphs will be dancing, the flowers will be blooming, the galkas will be mining, the tarutarus roasting, etc

    Cant wait!

    I still recall way back at one of the fan fests someone asking the devs about it, and their reply was they just looked at each other, kinda laughed and replied "If you wish to believe in it, please continue to do so." or something on those lines.

    -In the Mog Garden, the movements of creatures in the rearing grounds have been adjusted.

    The following issues have been addressed.
    -An issue with creature rearing wherein, during feeding, a different creature's name would display in the log than the one being fed.
    -An issue with colonization reives wherein automatons would not receive the effects of survival skills.
    -An issue in the High-Tier Battlefield "?Dawn" wherein alter egos' enmity would not increase.
    -An issue wherein Mummers' medals would increase with unintended timing.
    -An issue wherein equipping the following items would cause item levels to become higher than originally intended.

    Ignoring that we never had any reason to believe this, there's the glaringly obvious issue of how on earth we'd know whether a particular elemental affinity strengthened or weakened a synth. Even if it were true, the chance that your direction of choice was hindering you matched the chance that it was helping you.

    But, there is evidence that direction has an element affinity. Even if it is only part of game lore and not part of game mechanics, it is still there. Each direction has an element and avatar assigned to it.

    If you look up in the night sky, in each of the eight cardinal directions, there is a star of a different color, based on that directions assigned element. NE there is a red star for Fire/Ifrit, West has blue for Water/Leviathan, SE is purple for Thunder/Ramuh, and so on around.

    Now, as I said before, this is more than likely only part of game lore and not mechanics. But given when all these ideas were formed, circa 2004/2005, all we had to go on for possibilities was game lore.

    Yeah, I think the fact that those 3 chart NPCs are in every city (and the elemental one is pretty essential) makes people assume they're supposed to be tutorial NPCs. But I think the main purpose of the stellar map was to tease JP PS2 launch players at future content (Behemoth was added with Lv55 cap, avatars/cactuars/Tonberries added with RotZ, Alex/Odin added with ToAU).

    Even with those charts, how'd people decide that there were different directions for success and for HQ? That always boggled my mind. Oh, so earth synth facing wind direction is more like to HQ huh? Okay sure.
