As soon as they originally mentioned having Domain invasion and Geas Fete there, it seemed pretty obvious to me that it would be around Zi'tah's size.

edit: i'm dumb
They've already got a 15 minute time limit; a rage timer would be pointless.
All I'm hoping for is at least new zone music.
All the outside areas in SoA being the same was annoying, and the first 2 Escha zones got bleh pretty quickly like non-Xarc Dyna music back in the day.
inb4 "people play this shit with sound on?"
I wonder how SE is going to handle gear potency in the next update. It's going to be the final content update of the game, so one would think they'd make sure the enemies are extremely powerful, and the gear is extremely potent (to give players an incentive to keep playing for as long as possible), to go out with a bang, but making gear that beats (or even just rivals) HQ hexed gear would make a lot of people angry.
I'm fairly certain they'd lock gear like that behind similar time and/or gil intensive methods of obtainment. New escha totally OP but takes 3000 newlixer+2s to upgrade
I'm really hoping they update REM one last time.
I don't know that they necessarily need to go better than HQ hexed or whatnot. Seems like, as things are, that's already the stuff that players could spend a long time procuring. Maybe they'll go a different route, and try to make this last bit of content something that's a more consistent end goal. Could put in +2 reforged AF/Relic/Empyrean armor, for example, and JSE accessories like Abyssea had.
In turn, they could lock the upgrade process for those items behind Job Points or something. Basically, a big per-job grind that ends up putting us back into thematic armor sets - and could mean wanting to 119 pieces that would otherwise be ignored. Even if some pieces were close to HQ hexed, chances are they wouldn't be for every job listed on those.
Making a next tier of yet-harder content seems like it might be problematic if they anticipate players trickling out once updates stop.
More generally, I think expanding the tracking and rewarding of total game completion would be a better way to retain players. Having a general character Gift list that quests, RoE, and so on contribute to unlocking it, for instance.
theres an upcoming OST that lists these new tracks.
Rhapsodies of Vana’diel ep ver.
Iroha
The Boundless Black
Isle of the Gods
Wail of the Void
ヴァナ・ディールの星唄 -Rhapsodies of Vana'diel
So far we've heard 2, the Escha music (probably Boundless Black) and Iroha's theme (Iroha). That clearly leaves us with 4 others. Rhapsodies of Vanadiel will be the one that includes the contributed voices they requested and probably sounds like this, with more vocals.
That leaves us with Isle of the Gods (which by its name already suggests Reisenjima) and Wail of the Void, which is likely some kind of final battle music.
Hmm Aldo broke the fourth wall in Aloha Iroha today.
Not sounds effects maybe, but music? Music cool but maybe from time to time you want to play listening to you're own music?
Happens to me occasionally, and I bloody love ffxi music.
Very much looking forward to that new tribulens KI!
I wonder if we'll get more "NM remakes" like the Warders, AAs, and Kouryu. Pandemonium, Provenance, and Shadow Lord [S] seem like the most obvious candidates. Bahamut and Alex also come to mind as major 75 era bosses that have never been revisited, though I'm holding out on CoP/ToAU/WotG versions of SR in which they can appear as T3 NMs.
I'm just patiently awaiting for a bigger announcement in regards to the future of XI. Server merges, subscription price cut or total removal, and hearing about the final buffs from Rhapsody key items. If they really are ending updates I can only imagine these last key items being pretty insane. I like the idea of Lv99 SJ...seems like it would never happen but I never thought for a second they'd raise the level cap from Lv75 to 99, let alone 119... :O
Raising subjob to 99 would make a lot of jobs very similar to each other; basically the only differences would be gear selection, SPs, job specific merits, and job points/gifts, unless they put tons of restrictions on sub JAs/spells (which defeats much of the purpose).
I think letting us have two subjobs would be pretty sweet, and that wouldn't reduce job uniqueness much.
Wholeheartedly agree with Fwahm. Don't see why so many people get wet at the idea of 99 subjob.
I don't think anything about that is gonna happen anyway.
Maybe SJ Lv+11? We pretty much are in the 120s with the best gear & capped JP, after all.
