    I'm thinking new Skirmish type armor sets. Further speculation based on jobs shown and the announcement of new legendary weapons, suggests that it will be a lot like Salvage style job distribution on gear. Reisenjima(sp?) would most likely be similar to Salvage dropping new type of currency.

    Calling it now.

    I wouldnt be surprised if the quest for the weapons is gated behind teh Master job title gift with 2100 JP spent and that the weapon aquires additional amount of JPs to spent to unlock stuff for the weapon

    Yeah I can see whatever quest is needed for these weapons will require that title.

    Think it'd be the primary grind that the weapons would need, or just a prereq? With the amount of grind involved, it seems like if they require it, that should be most of the work.

    Personally, I wouldn't mind that, since JPs are both something I'd want to do anyway, and not locked to a particular activity. Could definitely see being rewarded the basic weapon, then needing hundreds more JPs after the cap to unlock the aftermath or new WS or whatever.

    Also wonder if this might be a way for them to rebalance melee jobs a little, if they are implemented in a way that they become common.

    Good model for the new weapons: Put in tons of Eschalixir and Jobpoints to upgrade them! > Will make people actually play and help others get JobPoints and EschaGear

    Bad model: Anything else - another personal greed grindfest

    There could be a silt, bead, NM, domain invasion and vorseal progress stage with what is already included with Escha at the moment. I wouldn't mind seeing a JP or +2 used in a stage, but it would be extremely dull to me if they were the only 2 things used for the last ultimate we'll ever see in the game. I wouldn't argue with a "85" style weapon for people who want to finish fast and get a taste of what the weapon is like, but the final form should be somewhat difficult to get imo.

    I honestly liked how they intertwined UC NMs with Escha NMs, giving us a reason to do other content that we probably would have otherwise never done with the option to just buy the pops off AH if you didn't feel like doing UC. If you made me guess, the new King UC and soon to be ToAU HNM UC NMs will be used to pop some new Escha NMs, which will then potentially drop upgrade mats for a stage in the new weapon quest.

    Inb4 these also require HP bayld.

    Since these create a new level 4 sc, i doubt they will grant these new ws to all players through a separate quest. At least not for a few years.

    New AF would be neat as a final farewell gift, I can see them enhancing 95-99 abilities, which I don't think any reforged enhance (Scarlet Delirium, Steady Wing, Bully etc). The head piece could augment SP2 as well.

    I think he is talking sidegrades... which could be anything from enhancing specific job traits/abilities to just enhancing different stats for different focuses

    So level 4 skillchains... wonder if they will make making them as convoluted as it is for tenzen 4 stepping or if it's going to be something as simple as if aftermath up lvl 3 light + lvl 3 darkness make lvl 4 or something like that

    Use special WS after a double light or dark onry.

    I know one of the prereqs will most definitely be to have a job mastered with JP. Would be nice if it was the final "Gift" or something. Knowing SE though, it will be like what Arus said: Requires 6 DECKED out players (Need 2 irdis) with the best gear already, to fight an NM that you can only fight once a week that can only drop 1-2 of the items req..of which you need 2000 of. But yeah, JP should be a req...I wouldn't mind that.

    AF4 is great. Everyone loves artifact sets.

    New WSes would be awesome and it seems implied unless they can code the aftermath to existing WSes. Though knowing SE, they'll find a way to fuck up the power of the new WSes, so hopefully the fact that it's an aftermath will allow us to still have this new skillchain with old WSes. AKA Double light/Dark is it's own skillchain now or you can close light with dark (which means some jobs need the new WS to have light/dark properties).

    Also something tells me they rushed the patch just to be cute on an 11/11 release. That's probably why the quest to complete it will be in a subsequent patch which goes against their original intentions of stopping major updates. I doubt any patch after the Aeonic will be all that significant besides new unity and maybe some Geas Fete. At least that's what we all believed when they said November was the last major update.

    i dont think i see new AFs.. but probably new sets to coincide with the new Geas Fete content?

    but who knows. they wanted this game to go out with a bang. for people who still bother to keep up with gearing and all, this could add a whole new level of stuff to get and give them a reason to play for months after. At least that seems to be the aim of Aeonic weapons. a new stretch goal activity.

    Outside of M, R and E weapons have always been sort of hit or miss for various jobs. If you melee? Sure, they were some really great weapons. But back in the day, mages didn't give a shit about R, and E were situational. A mage isn't going to care too much about a new WS if it requires them to get in there and melee.

    I think November is more supposed to be the last for content additions. So, adding the models, animations, whatever. They've always indicated that they'd continue to have some ability to edit or fix things. So like you said, stuff they could add in by copy/pasting other assets in and tweaking AI or stats wouldn't necessarily be right out.

    Still, they're probably just prioritizing tasks. If these things do need 2100JP+ to get, then nobody is going to have that on patch day. Same if they take collecting some new currency or whatever. So, they can put off implementing that part.


    I find it odd that they only mention the Aftermath as a benefit of the weapon. If new WS were tied to them, it seems like something they'd have mentioned. Could just use existing WS and upgrade SC effect, or maybe we'll get the WS as a Gift and the weapon will just make it better.
