I wonder if there's a chance that the final A weapons will be level 124 or 129, to make them more attractive as the final goal.

they'll probably keep it at 119 with the RMEs, but differentiate it with the Aftermath effects as well as the new skillchain thing?
i think they probably envision RMEA's to be equivalents - ie. each of them is supposed to be "best", but that depends largely on the circumstances.
I wouldn't mind if they had A as its own thing, then added a feature where A is enhanced via RME. A can start off on par with REM, then grow in power from there (WS dmg boost from R, stats from E, ja enhancement from M).
Yeah, that's what I'd assume. While relative strength of tactics or jobs might not be balanced, it seems like they've done a fairly decent job of making sure we've got a fairly wide array of options for armor/weapons. Doesn't seem as much like, say, the 90-99 era when REM started to seem mandatory. Tossing in items past i119 at the end could throw that off. Then again, I'm kind of assuming that they've got an eye on rounding out the game moreso than just trying to keep people subbed for a few more months. Both for potential new player experiences with this version, and for the mobile version to use as a template.
I got an idea. In order to get this new Aeonic Weapon you have to have the R, E, & M already obtained. You merge them together to get an ilvl125+ weapon. The ULTIMATE WEAPON. God Hand 4tw!
Not every weapon has all three types, though. For example, great swords lack a mythic.
Yeah, but presuming the A weapon is all job specific, you should just fuse the power of the weapon into the A weapon. The problem there could come from relics, since they're multijob, and not all of the newer jobs have a relic counterpart. The latter could be easily bypassed by "requiring" said weapon for the fufing, ie: pup h2h could get fused with Spharai. who knows
Maybe the armors are from Alluvian Skirmish Rakanazar (however you spells it). Need better source for dem Dusk stones!
The way I read it was that the Aeonic Weapons will grant an aftermath effect through the use of a new weaponskill and the aftermath effect itself will enable the user to create a new type of skillchain. What makes this interesting is that the wording makes it seem as though the new skillchain isn't bound directly to the new weaponskill and that it only needs the new weaponskill to activate the effect. This means that while having the aftermath effect up, any weaponskill you use will be granted the new skillchain properties. Also, the wording says plural skillchains, so I don't think it will be straight out Cosmic Edulation, but most likely it can build up to it.
I'm thinking it'll be something like Aftermath (Incl. Pets hopefully): Enhances Skillchain, which will do something like Skillchain Properties +1, turning Transfixion into Fusion, Fusion into Light, and Light into Lv4 Light. And then you do Lv4 Light <-> Lv4 Darkness to create the new skillchain(s?).
They make no mention of weapon skills, interestingly. Watch Aftermath be triggered by a new 1HR unlocked with the 2100 gift.
well i'm reminded of mythics, which everyone got psyched for but absolutely no one could acquire without duping like crazy for the longest time. So hopefully it'll be reasonable, cause i really don't think anyone will grind endlessly these days.
I wouldn't be surprised if you had to "forge" these by combining RMEs
Yeah they're not in a rush to finalize the quest when none will get to that point for some time. Also they might want to see how people progress before deciding on a final task. Then again this would be unheard of for SE, which had no problem with ridiculous timesinks from the start that no one could ever finish, like 30k alex
Yeah yeah yeah...we know merging every weapon would be confusing and probably not possible but the idea behind it would be neat. I see it as a solution to what some people are saying "If new item outclasses RME than I quit". Which is kind of silly honestly. I think it's great they are giving the game one final big goal for players that already are maxed (and there are already a lot of these people...minus some HQ Cursed gear - and even then!).
The merge idea only really works with Relics + Empyreans. Mythics/Ergons just throw it out of whack.
