Every other weapon that has "(weaponskill)" in the text unlocks said weaponskill. I'd be unsurprised if equipping said weapon did the same.

One reason they always gave for not putting new jobs on relics was cause they werent made with those jobs around to balance them, which is a cop out to me. They added new jobs to other existing gear and weapons. And then they go and reforge them with all kinds of new stats and still gave the same reason (its basically a new weapon with the way they reforged it)
Technically the weapon you use in that fight doesn't say "(weapon skill)" in its text:
https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Conqueror_(Incomplete)
Not even just about "fast track"ing it.
But certain effects from the relics not being given to ToAU, WotG, and SoA jobs certainly hurts them. (COR and Annihilator, right?)
Their AM effects are unique and a great boon.... Many are anyways.
(And further, no expansion means no Dagan for GEO or Torcleaver for RUN.... Extra hurt.)
I find it most weird though that they all have Mdmg. I was expecting that just to be an Aeonic thing... But... W/e. Trizona's should be jizzing themselves over that alone. (I would have given RDM and BLU swords MAB too... Which they may still get.)
But the lack of inclusion on new jobs tempers my excitement over the redesigns.
EDIT: I'm fully expecting Aeonics to grant their WSs at 5/5 potency.
But I'm more curious about them getting a same-WS-damage-boost...
Ergons didn't.
And they're supposed to be Mythics.
So... These "Relics 3.0" probably also don't get it. (Neither did the "2.0" Empys)
I don't know if Coronach is at this point yet, but Namas Arrow actually generates more hate now than if it didn't have fixed enmity (most of the time).
I'm fairly certain that the all of magical gun ws actually generate less hate per dmg dealt than coro has for a long time. Like probably after the first set of enmity adjustments and definitely by now. Heck just because of the way they are calculated with current gearing they might be better for enmity than coro even if you undid all the enmity changes just due to magical dmg going up so much more and in ways that don't effect enmity generation. To give you an example of how crazy it is a couple of months ago I let a nin do most of the dmg meleeing an nm down to around 80% no vokes no spells other than utsesmi then I got the geo buffs/debuffs up used trueflight for 40% of the mobs health and it didn't even look at me
Missed out on the Behemoth event for easy WS unlocks !
Ayame, Uragnites in Ceizak. Weapon unlocked in 15 minutes anyway
How would the new almace compare to current options? seems like if there is no other change in effects or aftermath some would still be very useful, by eyeballing, i would think its the best offhand (with no other swords at 269 skill) i have no idea how other empyreans would do honestly.
I think building a mythic would be less work than upgrading an empyrean to 119+ unless you're already have one collecting dust. Tons of VW spamming and virtually 0 market to buy plates/riftstuff from. Even if you can manage to cap lights outside the upcoming event, the drop rates are just shit.
I concur.
In this time and age getting red procs in abyssea for pop items is arguably more annoying than some time ago (granted that there's likely no competition issues) because of lack of P.I. on AH and because of having to constantly watch your damage.
Not sure if the "kill NM X times" part got faster, didn't SE reduced the pop time of 99% of open world NMs some time ago?
And in the end getting 1500 HPs especially and 60 Cinders is still a huge grind. You can arguably do it solo whereas back in the days you probably couldn't, but it's still gonna take you a lot of time.
With the removal of most cooldowns/gating from Mythic requirement and how Alex is still pretty available on the market, I kinda agree Mythic could probably be faster and less stressing than obtaining a 119 Empy from zero.
Aside from these practical issues though, wouldn't some Empys be quite nice? Twashtar for Rudra (Aftermath + 40 Dex for Rudra mod), Almace for CDC, Masamune for Tachi: Fudo. And Kannagi for Blade: Hi I guess.
Probably nothing else though. And even then, I'm not sure Empy AM3 can hold up against Mythic AM3.
Back in the days some Empys could hold up against some mythic because of the exclusivity of WSs. Now that WS have been reformed, unbound from weapons and the tiers have changed, I don't think they can possibly win against Mythic's AM3, for jobs who can reliably mantain it of course.
Somebody confirmed on the test server Mythics unlock the WS regardless.
Yeah, you're basically looking at spending ten days in the upcoming event spamming Qilin and Ig/Morta to even have a shot.I think building a mythic would be less work than upgrading an empyrean to 119+ unless you're already have one collecting dust. Tons of VW spamming and virtually 0 market to buy plates/riftstuff from. Even if you can manage to cap lights outside the upcoming event, the drop rates are just shit.
Interesting that they don't mention RMEs.The next version update is scheduled for early December.
Scheduled for the upcoming patch are further festivities in Geas Fete with powerful notorious monsters, and further steps in the aeonic weapon questline, culminating in the completion of the weapons themselves. New emotes and Unity outfits are on the docket as well!
Still got at least two weeks of one sentence announcement posts that link to a forum page with the same sentence in it. We'll probably see RME adjustment in one of them.
Very true, though I won't be surprised if they delay the RME buffs both to give people time/reason to focus on Aeonics, and because it gives them something "big" for an update down the road.
