STOP THE PRESSES. They finally updated the login page. It now says 12/01/15 Gaea Fate instead of 5/1/15 New Area: Escha Zitah. The 7 month terror has come to an end!
Oh joy they just reducing all the areas
That makes no fucking sense.
I mean, if they had other reasons that they don't want to disclose (like: "we want to reduce because we want to nerf some strategies we've seen used but we don't wanna say it because otherwise people will complain and whine") I could understand, but the reason they used to justify this reduction makes no sense.
I mean, srsly? Reducing the range in ALL areas for ALL pop zones only because someone whined they couldn't run out of range when popping Geas Fete at #9 in Reisenjima? Seriously?
C'mon...
I swear I saw it still announcing the shantotto mini expansion not that long ago somewhere.

I think they said if they changed the one area it could end up givin an advantage (since it was different than other areas) didnt they. Then players would fight over that one spot. this has always been the case with things in multiple spawn points whether it is less travel time to, environmental advantage (cliffs, rocks u can stick the mob on, ect), easier to pull without getting more adds from regular roaming mobs, ect... And they never foresee these things til players find it and take advantage of it. I cant imagine all areas would really be affected that much. Those ??? on the god islands couldnt get much smaller could they?
you only have to change a decimal...Breath damage is proportional to the amount of HP the user has left, so it would be difficult to make adjustments to increase the damage on them.

in other words aenoic weapon arent that hot (ecxept for a few)...
Interesting part is in red. Its talking of one weapon skill (the merit weapon skill) gaining dark or light attribute. So yeah if your merit WS is shit, good luck with aeonic Weapon. needs 2 merit WS to get the SC going. 1 for aftermath and one with aftermath and afterwards you are again back to 0!
Well depends if the Aeonic weapons give a boost to those merit WS.
I highly doubt it's gonna happen but we can't be sure about it.
It's also still unclear how the AM is gonna work for 1000, 2000 and 3000 TP anchors.
Doesn't seem anything particularly OP but then again I don't think SE ever presented them to be "ultimate weapons", they were always presented to be "weapons to rival RME". And that's a pretty generic sentence given how majority of Relic and Empy weapons suck, and even between Mythics only a few are really worth it.
But this is all gonna change with the RME upgrade (wonder if they will release that in the december patch or at a later date? In before it comes in the April patch...)
I turned in Staff KI and I think it looks like a unique and fun toy compared to the others. But like I said before... fully clearing the most relevant content in the game to get one kind of defeats the logical purpose of souping yourself up with fancy stuff.
Will there be no more campaigns for CP and such anymore?![]()
Yeah surprised no info yet
So Radiance/Umbra are just SE's official terms for Double Light and Double Darkness. So this probably means DRGs might be able to Stardiver>Stardiver into Darkness(Umbra), or SAM can Shoha>Shoha into Darkness (Umbra). So basically they're officially terming the "double" light/drk sc, which we've always had since 2004, with the same animation as their lv3 counterparts, as Umbra and Radiance. And if I understand this correctly, the Aeonic aftermath simply confers LV3 Light/Darkness properties, which Relic and Empyrean WS already have, to Merit ws while under the aftermath.
I see it more as AM3 transforms the merit WS sc element to Light II or Darkness II (double light/darkness).
Light II > Light II > Radiance
Darkness II > Darkness II > Umbra
Light > Light II > Radiance
Darkness > Darkness II > Umbra
If the last two are correct, then players will also have the ability to continue two light/darkness skillchains to create Radiance/Umbra
Entropy > Tachi: Fudo > (Darkness ) > Quietus > (Darkness II) > Tachi: Shoha > (Umbra).
I'm kind of curious why they keep saying a merit ws will enable the aftermath but say appropriate wss will make the skillchains. Makes itnalmost sound like other ws can be used but then they only show merit ones. Also lol at that we made qaltada an idiot on purpose thing. Glad to know you made the AI bad on purpose.
And Flan dev said something about there being some campaign this month so look forward to it
Well you know SE's track record with wording things:
Could mean two different things though.* During the aftermath effect, the appropriate weapon skill will have either the light or darkness skillchain type.
Well yeah, but the light or darkness skillchain type being added to the merit WSs isn't directly related to what other WSs can do Umbra or Radiance.
Isn't Umbra/Radiance really just Light II/Dark II?
In other words, when a SAM does double light with Kasha->Shoha->Light->Fudo->lightII(radiance?), the second Fudo makes an additional Light SC, which I think SE is calling that 'Radiance'? The comment by the dev team today shows a picture of a regular light and dark sc.

At least, this is how I'm reading into it. Did they mention anything about the properties of Radiance/Umbra in terms of element/MBing? IS there any official word that these 'Ultimate SCs' are any different from what players have been calling "Double Light/Double Darkness" for a decade?
It sounds to me like they're just making Resolution/Shoha/Stardiver, etc have similar SC properties as Relic and Empyrean WS to allow self SCs. Like Geirskogul->Geirskogul makes 'Darkness II' and the SC can't be furthered. Kaiton->Kaiton makes 'Light II' right now. Kaiton and Geirskogul have "Light" and "Darkness" SC properties already, so I would think adding those properties to merit WS would just make them analogous and allows for example DRGs to Stardiver->Stardiver into Darkness similar to how SAMs now Fudo->Fudo, etc. Just seems like they will be renaming the double lv3 SC's 'Umbra' and 'Radiance' to differentiate them since all these years they were identical to 'Light' and 'Darkness'. It doesn't even look like from the teaser image that they will have unique animations now...which I always thought was dumb.During the aftermath effect, the appropriate weapon skill will have either the light or darkness skillchain type.
