15,000,000 potpourri for stage 1 of 11 upgrading RME!
15,000,000 potpourri for stage 1 of 11 upgrading RME!
Nope, they're going to give Emperox a second set of currency which you obtain from unspent job points at a 1:500 ratio.
Now we just have to wait and see if it'll be more convenient to do afterglow first with the old method before starting the new quest, or skipping that and doing the new quest alone with no benefits.
Might be questionable for mythic and maybe relic, but I think for empy that's pretty much a no, considering how rare cinders are.
Oh boy. I hope the difference in difficulty is worth 750m gil
I hope the 'hard' version of the RME quest is actually doable. Putting Afterglow in the game was a mistake. The requirements were absurd, so much to the point that I question someone's motives for attempting them. It shouldn't be forced onto the rest of the playerbase. RME owners have done enough already.
As far as I remember every 99 RME was supposed to have afterglow and ridic requirments. Only the rebellion of people made it split into 2 paths.Putting Afterglow in the game was a mistake.
I seem to recall the rebellion reduced the number of marrows required, not that it made them split in two, am I wrong?
Btw what if someone doesn't actually want his rme to glow? Will they add an in game command?
That's not what I remember. I remember 99/afterglow requirements was stupid beyond stupid from the beginning, and they lowered it to where they are now because people complained.
Also, I bet 1-2 years from now, we'll be able to buy +269 skill weapons with whatever the next sparks credit will be
No, It was split into 2 parts. Originally the level 99 version required the After-glow trial difficulty, and that was the only way to 99 it, and there was no Afterglow.
Official forums bitched heartily, and rightly so, and so they made the 99 Versions the easier trials we have now, and kept the original batshit ones for "Afterglow".
Completely agree with this, and to folks with multiple RME - congrats! you get to the really-fucking-annoyingly-long-ass-quest multiple times!
They need to keep the quest-lines separate, it seriously cant be "that difficult" to make a separate quest for non-afterglow weapons. At this point their is no need to involve the magian-moogle.
...and the part about "One of the reasons is to ensure the future scalability of the weapons."... just, no. SE you killed the game, their is no future scalability because there is no future!
I'm 100% against this change.
Judging from Matsui's post yesterday I'd dare to say the game *does* have a future.
Maybe not the future the majority of us were hoping for, but a future nonetheless.
I'm actually a little excited that it won't just be "Kill monsters for one night, then walk to the NPC and turn the weapon in" like the last upgrade. I might actually have to choose which weapon to upgrade second. jk, it'll probably be Idris if they upgrade anything useful about it.
Relic Afterglows are ~500mil. Mythic afterglows are probably close to 1 billion gil. Empyrean afterglows are nearly impossible regardless which path yours takes because the supply just isn't there. Six months of buying back when Voidwatch was more relevant only net me ~600 Riftdross. For them, it's more about buying for six months and then convincing 5 other similar people to quit and sell you their Rift items.
I'd laugh if the first step was talking to Reisengoblin and "For starters I need drinky-wink. Please fetch me 2x Primeval Brews and we can talk."
Would not shock me if some part of the upgrade required a brew. Seeing as you can't use them for clearing the content for aeonics they must have some valid purpose. >.>; Inb4 killshot trials involving using the ws in question to kill Kouryu, WoC, and Teles x3.
Wow what BS, I knew this would happen. Now we get to see all the towns lit up like Christmas with 50 million afterglows. I personally highly doubt this trial will be as grindy and long as people think, its probably not even that bad and will shit all over anyones effort who currently has an afterglow lol. I feel sorry for people who completed any Empy afterglows.
If they really aren't going to upgrade Instruments or Shields, Aegis/Ochain/Gjallarhorn/Daurdabla afterglows will still be unique.
I like your optimism!
Not as grindy as original afterglows maybe, but very very grindy regardless imho.
I don't think we're gonna see masses of people with glowing weapons in towns for a long time.
This doesn't change the fact that it's still a very poor choice on their side.
Wish we could do something to let our voices be heard and make SE change their minds...
Well this is the final upgrade for REM to be equivalent to current weapons. Given the nature of the current state of the game and how they want people to low man w/trusts, it won't be hard imo. I highly doubt it will be equivalent to 700~1 billion gil or any kind of effort mirroring that. Anything less just means afterglow people got shafted and its not like they had much to begin with since that buff is pathetic. Most of the community sees them as losers who have too much time and shit lol. Eh its whatever, nothing will change their mind at this point but I still think it will look retarded to see everyone running around with afterglow regardless of this change.
