If it's already going, try to enter in like a crescent shape so you avoid the breath line. Without any protection, I've seen them do over 10k damage if you're lined up for it. Also, if you're tanking Azi or Naga, make sure you adjust after it lands to avoid the same problem. If you can't see the wyrm, sometimes adjusting your camera a lot (generally to face away from all the people) can help their models load.

Ah the days when adds would spawn dead on your screen gliding across the ground. I do not miss it

think 50-60 people is the max ive seen in most escha zones when people doin nms, and i have hide trusts type options set to on, unless not being able to see them still lags you. either way ive been in wkrs with the same amount of people fightin (with trusts) and it was never as bad. Wonder if its something bout wyrm models cause its exactly like dragon aery used to be back in the day. granted that was 150 people in a 12 yalms radius when we couldnt filter anything (plus that damn waterfall in there)

The hide trust option only changes whether or not they display. You are still sent all the information about them in packets, and the laginess is due to the UDP packet size limits rather than anything else. SE cannot transfer data to your client quickly enough for all the PCs and NPCs.

If they allowed more than 7 kilobytes per second communication between the server and the client, they might be able to communicate that information fast enough...

If you think it's bad, try playing this game tethered to a cell phone.

Think any of the packet size limitations will change with the decommissioning of the console versions?

    Short answer:
    No.

To clarify, the changes that would need to be made are so technical and so deep that I don't think SE will ever do them. As far as I can tell, SE isn't even using the maximum size of the UDP packet (~64 kB) right now before compression, let alone after. If I'm not mistaken, they do throttle it down to about 8kB/sec as you mentioned, when it could be ~128 kB/sec with their current packet frequency (2 per second).

Anyway, the reason I don't think that consoles will change anything is that consoles aren't the choke point here either in terms of frequency or packet size. It's purely an old limitation self-imposed by SE to avoid FFXI being too much of a bandwidth hog, so there's no reason to believe that fixing it would be tied to either of the consoles.

The system requirements page no longer lists the required internet speed, but I'd swear it used to be 28k.

EU launch box says 56k or higher connection.
Don't own a JP or US boxes myself.

US box says 56k, but I started on one that registered only 28k or so and played fine. Had to leave updates going for like 2 days on first install.

Xbox 360/live is restricted to 8 or 12 KB/sec, I forget which. This includes voice data. I don't know if this restriction is still active, but it's was more of a standard back then. You also assume your game will have upwards of 40% packet loss

So... do they just hate Ergon weapons now?
Mythic building receives massive buffs, lessening the workload for making one with Rhapsodies. (immediate rank ups, 10min tickets, infinite salvage, and the pops for the VNMs were just flat out adjusted without Rhapsodies)
Ergon building gets............. WKR price reduced? (pretty sure they think that's equal to salvage... cause 1~few/13,099 is TOTES the same as 100+/30,000)
And now they flat out don't get Afterglows in the effective 121 form?? (if you track the fake skill there's a gap in alternating degree of 13 and 14, the final stage of the ultimate weapons all have 27 fake skill more than the standard 242 for a 119... 13+14=27, ergo: these are effectively iLv121 items... probably kept at 119 cause of how it would effect somethings like Trusts, for example.)
"these are the same as mythics" yet... just have mythic AM... with SC properties formerly reserved to relics and their clones (cause we don't want to give RUN and GEO empy access for... reasons).... and they don't even glow after you make them e121? weak sauce.
I mean, it was kinda shitty that Ergon owners would have to take the "long route" (I'm still convinced they're stirring the pot on that and that it'll be easier/shorter than they are making it out to be... just so the players will be happy that it's not as bad as they thought. psych101) but to then not even give up the glow? Lame. (though at least they're good weapons and will undoubtedly be stupid good in their final form, and it's not like AG isn't 100% worthless... but... it just kinda cements for people that these are fake mythics.)

Eregons got WKR campaigns pretty much. While it's not permanent and a bad solution, it effectively helped a ton of people working on one directly and indirectly.

They also recently basically doubled the caps of balyd from reives... however they didn't adjust the rates from actions so even the hardest highest hp lair reives you can't even get to the capped amount solo even with AoEing everything while fighting and soloing them can be semi dangerous if you aren't paying attention so if you go duo for safety you end up getting near the same amount it was before they raised the cap. The funny thing is right after they did the adjustment it was fine and it seemed like they also doubled the rate gains but after they implemented a double balyd campaign and then it went away rates went back to pre update values.

Side note they also hate empyreans too. They have been basically saying that the rift/hmp requirements and availability are totally fine because ya know you can alliance these fights for more drops lol. Of course outside of the campaigns you basically have to get a group in order to get any drops at all and people are fairly uninterested since even at the high prices they at it's still bad gil/hr. I mean it tells you something when just the hmp stage costs 150mil and it's still better to buy them then farm them... assuming you can actually find enough to buy

On my server this is a whopping 2 for sale...so you only have to farm 1498 more ! To your point they really think people still do Voidwatch that is how out of touch they are with the player base.

Uh, no. People still need voidwatch drops. Have you missed the people complaining about cinders?

VW drops are so easy to farm, especially with more people.

What server are you on, to only have 2 on the AH during VW campaign? On Odin, there are currently about 1650 heavy metal plates on the AH right now, as well as >1000 more in bazaars.
