Whatever "airlixir" type item is needed for Obroro's upgrades, those should also be the items needed for REME. Quote me on that please.
Not necessarily. Oboro weapons are just getting augments while RMEEs are getting fullout upgrades
It will be a minuscule amount compared to REME depending on how good of bonuses they are. I have no doubts that it will not be the same "Airlixir" item though. I am sure Oboro will also be the NPC to upgrade REME past 119 too.
If the new REM require plutons etc that will be incredibly easy... I'm expecting it to be something like that tbh, even at 10k lol that's nothing compared to scoria/marrow/cinder since those drop from so many places.
Well... if it's really 10k Pluton/Riftborn/Beitetsu it would take quite a while. Especially for people who have multiple RME the first months would be QUITE expensive. Demand would be huge, way higher than the sources. Price would skyrocket, don't expect them to stay at 5k each for many months.
On Asura for the first months Plouton were 50/100k each. (it was arguably harder to get them back then though)
10,000 plutons would cost 2000000000 gil...
My money is still on Fern/Taupe/Pellucid. I have like 3 stacks of each bag stored up right now, so I hope I'm right!
It's going to be 10,000 of these:

Nah, it's totally gonna be like 1 full Quadav Fetich set, and Konschtat Highlands will be overrun like the RoV fetch quest
Nah it's going to be like 500 Attestations and Fragments for your relic. Which doesn't sound bad in theory except they are 'RA' flagged so you'd have to enter/exit after each kill! Also having to enter/exit each one is SE dealing with congestion!
I wouldn't be surprised if they made it so it was relatively easy but just really lengthy. Lots of little tasks walking you back through the original upgrade process and possibly throwing in some of the newer content. Basically you can have 121 but only when you prove you've done every piece of content on that job with that item equipped.
But those are ra/ex... trading those in 1 at a time @.@
My bet is something related to Emporox. He's so underutilized. Like maybe some item that isn't unlocked till you fully unlock him or maybe some 1 of the more expensive items merit wise from each category while people with afterglow might only have to get 1. So ya know either farming the items directly or farming 10s of thousands of merits
I believe the dev said it, whatever it/they is/are, could be 'purchased' with gil, correct?
I also wouldn't rule out multiple stages:
Relics: Dynamis currency -> plutons -> couple marrows (or last two in reverse order)
Mythics: Alex -> beitetsu -> scoria
Emp: Hmp (lol) -> riftborn -> plz no
Ergons: HQB -> Skirmish stones?
Having a pre-req of job master is an interesting thought too!
I don't know, 10,000 pluton/beitestsu/boulders is a lot. I'll agree it's a lot less stressful than running all over Xarcabard/Aht Urhgan to get marrow/scoria but I'm not sure it'd actually take less time to farm it all yourself. Also need to factor in the price would probably skyrocket if it really does end up being those so buying it will become a less viable option.
Versus 3000 dross/cinder there's no contest though.
When 119 RME hit, plutons/etc were 300k to start out with, at least on my server. The demand would be absolutely ridiculous if every single 119 RME weapon in the game needed 10,000 of them (or the other two); they're easier to get than when they were introduced, but not 33.3x easier. I wouldn't be surprised if they got almost as expensive, and 10,000 at 100k a pop is still a billion gil.
As for farming it yourself, soloing a D battlefield gives you what, about 10-20 of a random one of the three or something? The time spent to farm and spend 5000-10,000+ merits worth of battlefields (or more if you can't solo any on D) is pretty massive.
Its a RME weapon, not a Gift. While I enjoy the thinking outside the box and going for things that isn't "Grind 10,000 of X item", its probably going to be a "Grind 10,000 of X item" or something Escha/Reisin related. Job points would just be ... awful... The entire JP grind is difficult enough as is, since you'll be hard pressed to find anyone willing to do it unless you got a 4 Nuker/SCH, 1 Tank, 1DD SC/MB set up (Or i guess alternative BLUS AND BSTS BRUH)... which as you can guess, is very job exclusive and from my experience if you're not hitting an absurd jp/hr you'll be shouting for replacements a lot since people are princesses these days.
Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy JP parties, I enjoy the old meritpo feel when you get a good friendly group of people who feel like people and not bots, I like that its a long grind goal with tangible rewards along the way. I don't like the idea of it being linked to RME upgrades at all though.
