Technically theyre already coded and in the game, so its not like it would take massive dev work

A couple would take balancing, though. The Doom and Terror WSs have a 100% proc rate, even on NMs, for example, IIRC.

Yeah, they'll need some revisions. Stuff like Uriel Blade and its damage capping simply wouldn't fly in today's environment.

Trying to remember off the top of my head...
Sword: Glory Slash, Uriel Blade, and I think there's one more a Batallia NPC used.
    Club: Reviviscience
Dagger: Think the Dancer NPC had one? Guess you could also yoink Cobra Clamp from Mihgo.
    H2H: Think Maat had one.
Axe: Did the one with all the BST pets have one? Otherwise, don't think so.
Katana: Don't think there was even a NIN NPC, but it's not like they can't add a merc or someone to Bastok.
    Scythe: Did Ludwig have one?
Polearm: Not sure if Else or Aruhat had one.
Great Axe: Don't think there was one here, but if there was, maybe Iron Eater had it.
Great Katana: Don't think Noillurie had a unique one since she had Amano.
Great Sword: The AoE/Conal ice one from Sandy.
Staff: Think there were two here from Windurst NPCs.
Bow: Think there was one here from a Windy NPC.
Gun: Don't think Elivira had a unique one, just Conorach.

Guess it's kinda split on things that exist and don't and the don't is probably enough for SE to not bother.

The 3rd week of the Rainbow Campaign will have WKR campaign in it, it seems.

I think trusts have enough unique WS that they could just yank those for us players to use.

I think Scythe, Katana (Kurt, the NIN NPC, used a GK), Dagger, Polearm, and Great Axe were the only ones that had nothing as far as campaign NPCs go.

why stop at campaign WS. We have a trust that uses all weapons and has unique WS for each of them: "just" add the Aufust WSs to players. Some of them seem to have nice additional effects

    It's a spell, not a WS.

The problem with adding new WS is that it would be a load of work for them.
Aside those who are just "old animations with different graphic effects" (Uriel Blade for instance), it would require them to realize different animations for all of the 8 races/genders.
This is the case for August's WS (which are fucking awesome)

Also with the amounts of WSs we already have do we really need more? Might as well keep balancing the ones already existing, adding new effects etc rather than keeping to add new weapon skills.
    That's just me of course.

Yeah, it is important to keep in mind that the graphical effects already in the game for these WS are for the NPCs' specific race and gender and would have to be modified to be usable for all 7 model types, even if only slightly. Their implementation would be considerably more complicated than some of you seem to think.

why stop at campaign WS. We have a trust that uses all weapons and has unique WS for each of them
That isn't exactly true. While he may use all the weapons, many of the skills/animations use multiple weapon types simultaneously.

Well it kinda depends. I think dev-side they can easily separate the special graphic effect (usually it's a 2D texture/map) and the 3D model animation from the dat of a WS.
For unique WSs (like August's and many others) it's exactely like we said. They have the dat for hume male, would have to create 7 more models and it's a lot of work.

But for WSs like Uriel Blade I think it would be simpler. Uriel blade is not "unique". If I recall it's just Savage Blade with a different graphic effect.
The graphic effect, well, I don't think it changes from race to race. If anything it gets scaled to the size of the model but it's likely the same for all races/animations.
And for "Savage Blade" we already have the animation for the 8 races/gender.
So, if my thinking is correct, enabling Uriel Blade would be kinda quick for them, likewise for all other WSs that are just a rehashed version of an already existing animation.

Regardless of this I stand by my point. We already have a fuckton of WSs, many of which are useless.
Why add even more instead of keeping the good work of rebalancing they've been trying to do over the last year? If it were me I'd focus their manhour on something like this over releasing completely new WSs, but that's just me of course.

    Mihgo uses a sword :X

    H2H: Think Maat had one.
    Bear Killer

Also, H2h gets "Leonine Legflail", a kind of AoE Dragon Kick, Mikhe, Meriphitaud, uses it.

Katana: Don't think there was even a NIN NPC, but it's not like they can't add a merc or someone to Bastok.
There was, forgot his name, he uses Utsusemi and summons a buttload of cloans. Edit:

Great Sword: The AoE/Conal ice one from Sandy.
    Spinechiller

Staff: Think there were two here from Windurst NPCs.
Death Knell and I want to say a Tartaru's one... Torpor? Tartaru's Torpor? We get one of them right now already

Bow: Think there was one here from a Windy NPC.
Shes in sauromogue... but there is one.

    She uses a dagger.

Shes in sauromogue... but there is one.
Besides that one (Vhino Delkahngo's Soulfetter Arrow), there's also Laisavie who uses Arrow of Apathy (conal+paralyze). Haja Zhwan uses Bloody Quarrel, a marksmanship skill (conal+drain).

Of course swd or dagger is kind of moot if we are talking about campaign ws since Nanaa wasn't around back then.

"Cobra Clamp" is from Romaa Mihgo, the campaign NPC, Uses a Sword. This is the WS they mentioned.

"King Cobra Clamp" is from Nanaa Mihgo, who does use a Dagger, and is not a campaign NPC... meaning this isn't who they were talking about.

Romaa Mihgo isn't a Campaign NPC though. She's in windy nation quests and some WotG missions. Romaa uses a sword, Nanaa uses a dagger, they both have the same WS, theoretically because Romaa taught it to Nanaa at some point.

    K. Was only clarifying the sword dagger confusion.

Not same WS. Same animation perhaps, different effects and names though.

    Romaa uses "Cobra Clamp"
    Nanaa uses "King Cobra Clamp"

If I'm not mistaken, King Cobra Clamp stuns and paralyzes, Cobra Clamp does neither as far as I know.

It's actually kind of easy once you figure it out. Most of the campaign Weaponskills share the same motion as other Weaponskills. All it takes is a hex editor and copying the animation block from the npc ws DAT into the specific race/gender that you want. I was able to do this on several occasions where I wanted the look of campaign ws on my taru.

Yeah I was pretty confident with that, when the animation is the same (which is the case for 99% of campaign WSs) and just the effect changes, it would be easy to release them for everyone.
But, again, it's not the case for unique trust stuff =/

I don't understand why they have an issue with the message for Domain Invasion. They're acting like sending out a message to all areas would be difficult when they've done it for events before (Conquest Tallies, Besieged, Astral Candescence lost, Mog Tablets, Campaign, etc). Ok it isn't to all areas but it's to enough differing areas for it to be possible to do all areas.
