In Reisenjima on my NIN against normal mobs I'm at over 1200 acc and Joachim still favors Madrigal+March instead of Minuet+March.
Qultada looks smarter in that regard with the use of Hunter's/Fighter's/Corsair's in addition to Chaos.
This doesn't change the fact that we're almost out of Trust slots and we're full of completely useless trusts and only 2 Bards and way too few WHMs and RDMs.
For instance debuff-wise are spread among different characters and there's not a single one who casts all debuffs (well arguably you have that WotG guy, the melee RDM, but he doesn't buff you).
And WHM wise we have a SINGLE whm who casts curaga spells (and they wonder why so many people pick Apururu?) and not enough WHMs who avoid using haste1. Think the only ones are Kupipi and Mihli?
The first is nothing special, the second is ok but incredibly slow with -na, no Dagan/Nott and melees, sometimes using that annoying AoE WS that aggroes surrounding mobs.
So yeah, very weak choices. It's no surprise if people favor Apururu or Yoran over those other options =/
Guess part of the blame is in the fact that lore-wise most NPCs aren't support roles. Can't think of many other famous BRD/RDM/WHM NPCs. Well there are a few, but not many and way less famous than many of the DD NPCs who are already available as trust.
I suppose they gave more relevance in "how much a character is liked" over "how much a character would be useful as trust".
Shame, but to a certain degree I can understand this way of seeing things... Players like us are way too focused on efficiency/utility, but for a large part of the player base trusts are just a nice way to have that cool NPC you always liked fight together with you.
