The could do something really neat like give a bonus to MB dmg based on the skillchain/closing ws dmg. Would put a kink I sch while also not making sam the best.
Will this affect anything? guildwork? I dont remember how this works. FFXIAH?Notice Regarding Termination of the FINAL FANTASY XI Linkshell Community Beta (04/19/2016)

The FINAL FANTASY XI Linkshell Community Beta service will conclude on May 10, 2016.
We would like to thank all those who have used this tool over the past ten years. While we know this announcement will disappoint those who have utilized the service, we reached this decision in light of the site's usage over the past several years. Our efforts going forward will be placed into further development and operation of the game itself.
We hope you will continue to enjoy all that FINAL FANTASY XI has to offer.

Not sure why the pic is showing the link and not the actual image.
It will mean XIAH's profile tool doesn't work for non-Windower users anymore, but that was essentially already the case.
It was mentioned that it will only affect the missions progress portion of FFXIAH, but they are working on using titles for that instead.
it would be really awesome if they could use titles to determine we finished captain merc rank finally for aht urghan.
Lol i just realised how that thing never left Beta
I bet some intern did it and then left
well variety of options is one way to see it. More realistically, you should look at what jobs aren't ideal since with time limits and HP scaling, those jobs just aren't going to be invited. It's why i'd see like 7 ppl on various melee jobs online
from this point of view, even lv75 before melee zerg, sam drk rng etc were more desired. At least they were needed for the SC. Really other than abyssea red proc era (nin war whm), i can't think of another time where more jobs were excluded from PTs
In Abyssea it was fine because any job could solo.
The real shitty time to be an unpopular job was 75. It was difficult to even get a merit party invite on a pet job then, let alone do endgame.
No, I think the problem is just the scaling.
The combat system isn't perfectly balanced and will NEVER BE in a game such as FFXI.
But overall there are an incredible amount of theoretically viable jobs. I think the situation is much better now than it was, say, during the old 75 days before WotG.
We are mindfapping over differences that often are not as big as we make them look like, from the point of view of FFXI-geeks like us.
The problem is imho the scaling.
Whereas without that you could probably afford to bring many other jobs that would grant little contribution to the overall alliance, or strange setups, or things like that, because of the scaling system you can't do that now and you have to be extremely picky and choose very specific setups, more than we ever did.
Many jobs still have a spot somewhere, the fact that nobody wants to use them because everybody wants BLU is another issue, many jobs are VIABLE.
During the 75 days a lot of jobs didn't have a place anywhere. You couldn't solo, you couldn't do endgame, you couldn't do anything. Hell, you had issues even getting an XP party invite on some jobs, now imagine doing ANY type of content with them.
Seen from that perspective nowdays situation is much better imho, it just feels and seems worse because of the pickyness brought in by the scaling system.
Here's to hoping Linkshell Community Beta won't be the last we see of those nicer equipment icons.
I'm guessing the domain renewal came up or they were auditing their network and that's when SE realized it was still running.
Or, if you found a bunch of other sadsacks, team up with them and steal mobs away from legitimate parties that wouldn't invite any of you when LFM
