Where, the OF?
"I need to read this book for a test... but how does moon phase affect crafting??"
Edit:
Google translated it and it's the same thing Camate said yesterday.
Thanks for all the feedback on Gallantry.
In terms of what you can purchase with Gallantry, one of the major items will be the item I mentioned the other day that will allow you to alter the augments on your equipment. Additionally, we will be making it possible to reacquire Sulevia equipment that is currently purchasable with Hallmarks.
While you may be thinking that this is just the same as Hallmarks, the biggest difference is that there are no cumulative-type rewards for Gallantry, and all of the rewards can be obtained by spending points. Even if it’s an HQ item, you will be able to acquire it for the slot you wish, and if you, for example, wanted to obtain Sulevia’s Platemail +1, you could do so by exchanging your points at a lower amount than the amount of Hallmarks you need at the moment.
(However, if you’re trying to obtain the equipment for all equipment slots, you’ll need a great deal more points than the total Hallmarks required.)
Similar to Hallmarks, Gallantry will also reset when there is a version update. This is necessary in order to maintain a set rate for the cumulative rewards, and if we were to remove this system, each time we rotated rewards we would have to continuously bump up the required amount of points. As a result, months in the future the required amount of points would be astronomical. We’d like to keep this system in place so there is a defined starting point as well as a defined goal line for obtaining these items.
Ah yeah I saw the jp one and forgot to post about and it and hadn't checked if they'd done an English one since then.
That's some interesting logic there what with the whole "Gallantry will also reset when there is a version update. This is necessary in order to maintain a set rate for the cumulative rewards" and "there are no cumulative-type rewards for Gallantry"
Gallantry seems to be geared towards helping you get the previous month's stuff, and a few extras, so i could see why they didn't add any cumulative options.
Well, getting everything up through +1 legs one month and using gallantry for the +1 body next month seems like a pretty sanity-preserving way to go about your life, I think.
You need 13k to finish two capes, though.
I mean, if you can handle getting 13k hallmarks in a month, by all means enjoy your capes.
That's about 30-45 minutes per day if you can solo on D, accounting for congestion, and maybe 60-70 if you can only kill on N. Groups that can team up for VD makes it even faster. You can go harder on days you have more free time with to make up for days you can't get on for. It's not a hard goal to meet over a whole month.
It's not really the time, but again, by all means.
I think the last paragraph is their reasoning for resetting all Ambuscade point progress, not just the Gallantry progress. It's confusing, but it looks like he mentioned Gallantry at the beginning to imply that it's getting reset because it's part of Ambuscade, and then he segued into their reasoning for resetting Ambuscade points in general.
I dont want to edit a 3 hour old post to reply to this again, but you're acting like these capes are marginal sidegrades.
DEX+20 acc/atk+20 Crit Rate +10 for CDC shits all over any other options, and opens rancor neck/ring, and is a pretty good TP piece as well.
STRorDEX+20 acc/atk+20 WSD+10 on non-crit (or force crit) WS's is SOOOOOOOOOO much fucking better than any other back piece.
INT+20 macc/mdmg+20 MAB+10 is in its own league as a nuking cape.
Could even be just with regard to Gallantry. Like you mentioned, there's a rationale for resetting Ambuscade points in general - keeps people needing to stay subscribed and logging in month after month if they want to keep up with rewards. For one, if Gallantry didn't reset, then perhaps at some point - if the points needed stay static - people would wind up with enough of them that they don't need to bother with Hallmarks. Or maybe just not bother with partying, given the reason for making a second currency to start with.
yeah, it's a great item that you can just get next month rather than grinding out 6500 more hallmarks this month
I mean, if you cannot bear the idea of not getting your second maxed cape each month and literally cannot think of anything on god's green earth you'd rather spend your time doing than punching a dumb dragon Yet Again, I repeat:
by
all
means
but for the rest of us, gallantry is a means to stop at a certain point and ensure we aren't leaving anything on the table.
Everything is a big grind; what's the difference between punching a dragon yet again, doing HTB yet again, nuking an Escha NM yet again, farming Salvage yet again, or anything else? When each job can get use out of 3+ capes, there is very little that competes with getting the second cape in terms of improving your character (assuming you have the basic necessities for said job done).
You're also assuming that getting the body piece will be easier next month from Gallantry than doing it the previous month from Hallmarks. For all we know, it could take 50 VD Version 2 kills to get enough Gallantry points for the previous month's body +1.
A change of scenery.Everything is a big grind; what's the difference between punching a dragon yet again, doing HTB yet again, nuking an Escha NM yet again, farming Salvage yet again, or anything else?

Spoiler: show
tl;dr he doesn't feel like maxing out two capes a month and gallantry is a way to ensure he can get the hallmark items next month instead of having to slog through an extra 8k hallmarks that he'd rather not do, independent of how easily/efficiently he could do so.
Opinions, man.
also, I don't think they ever mentioned the capes not being good? Just that they would rather not bother doing anything past +1 legs, which is totally valid.
