It's not a FFGM announcement. At least I don't think it would be.
Don't expect it to be an announcement at all.
It's gonna be on Reddit after all. That should already be a strong hint at what's coming

Reddit? Probably an AMA then.
The real question is who would even do it?
Don't be silly, an AMA with SE staff would be fucking worthless.
"We can neither confirm nor deny that."
"You'll see."
"Unfortunately, we are not able to do that [even though it should be easily possible]"
"There are changes coming. Please look forward to it."
I think the only XI staff I would like an AMA of is Yaeko Sato.
Hahaha I did say not to get your hopes up.
But please look forward to it.
please ask good questions
Hahaha an AMA. Exactly 0 new information will come from this. Though it's pretty much the only shot we have of getting NA questions asked
Yawn, this will prove to be a waste of time![]()
I told you it was going to be stupid. Nothing hyped this hard ever is good.
So wait Spira wasn't trolling us and was right about something happening?
I'd ask questions, but I know how they'll turn out, if anyone wants to ask them, feel free.
"More accurate/in-depth descriptions for automaton attachments?" No.
"/checkparam2 and checkparam3 for additional offensive and defensive stats respectively?" No.
"A method to check enemy parameters, such as scan?" No.
"Any remaining unknown mechanics for NMs, and any hints towards figuring them out since it's been several months?" Yes, but no hints.
Feel like the most pressing concerns should involve asking about merges, revising the world transfer process (elimination of fee and instating a weekly cooldown), and possible revamps to their pseudo-instancing to combat congestion issues.
Stuff like a 2.0 is pretty much a no go since people don't seem to grasp the fact it'd be making an entirely new game even if XI served as a template. And while we obviously want new content, they're not going to tell us shit until they're ready to tell us about it. Everything else being fluff seems like the most likely outcome at this point. Really, this is something that needed to happen when the test server was a thing with focus obviously on in-progress content.
"Since melee is unwanted in endgame content, will you be removing the merit weaponskill cap so we can at least beat on kuftal robber crabs in new ways and pretend you give a shit?"
"Trying to gear up as a returning player is more painful than being force-fed Oprah's taco bell farts. And sparks gear might as well be one big dunce cap. Any plans to ease the pain? Maybe that doesn't involve spending millions on shitty random augments?"
Yeah, but I feel like it really should be something already in the game somewhere. There's been a ton of stupid misinformation regarding the job recently, and it doesn't help that some of the testing regarding some of the attachments are from 2007-2009 and have since been deleted. The one official source of data is a forum post from 2011 that hasn't been updated at all as it refers to armor plate giving defense +% instead of pdt. If they can update food and blue mage spells, then why not attachments?
Also, gearing up as a returning player has been eased with the intermediate RoE quests. In the end you get 4 119 weapons, 1 119 skirmish armor, 1 alluvion skirmish armor, a wkr kupon, 12 of every Rem chapter, a mali. orb to 119 an AF headpiece, and forced to 119 an AF body. For someone brand new, you would end up with 119 weapons, including dual wielders, 119 af head, 119 af body, and the last 3 visible pieces can be a combo of the skirmish/alluvion skirmish/119af. Get lucky if your job is on the current ambuscade armor and entry to 119 isn't so bad.
So looks like a Giant battle next month
I wonder if someone will ask for a lvl 75 serveror a lvl 99 pre SoA server!
