What I'm predicting is that October will be low-key, with only basic/regular monthly updates, and that November will have more than usual. Hoping for a repeat of the Bahamut BC from last year :3

Woke up to find a version update waiting on me and wondering what actually happened.. POL post says that it was to change the text on login for the monthly campaign, but I seriously doubt that required updating 600+ .dats O_o;;

Since I have no idea how to check what changed myself, any one else care to scan thru and shed some light on this?

Now all they need is 4 more sets after Nyzul armors, and they have a perfect cycle of 12 armors. (My 2 cents: Limbus=2 + Valkyrie=2 =4)

This month's vouchers won't work for the new armor. They've already said that.

I'm more interested in how often they'll do the vouchers. Will we see the 3 Nyzul Isle sets and then a voucher month? Will we see a Nyzul Isle set and then another set and THEN get a voucher month? I have no idea how much work is saved to do other things by not having to make a new set (I wouldn't expect they get much extra free time but could be wrong).

Plenty of people skipped a month, or missed it as they weren't jumping right into the new content, or weren't geared enough at the time, etc. I don't think I'd be a fan of them doing a catch up for just this next 3-set, though. Maybe if they do the Limbus sets and then make it so they do 5 new sets and then a voucher to catch up is something I could get into seeing.

Get ft+1 voucher from gorpa, then trade it in for any +1 piece thats been released so far, so if you missed multiple months, and none of your jobs use the new askar, you can atleast get something useful.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they capped off to 12/13 months and then put Ambuscade on repeat and focused more on the new battle system coming out. Would make sense to me, really.

Or they realize time exclusive content is dumb, especially as less and less people need it, and basically retune item costs to a fair amount of clears and just let you buy whatever. Given this stuff isn't top-tier gear, it's probably best to stop treating it like such. And I don't really expect the redone Assault gear to be any different in this regard.

Jhakri body provides better numbers than gyve. I dont have a merlinic body because i never gave a shit for incursion.
Jhakri pants offer better numbers outside of MB than my merlinic pants.

Meghanada body hands and feet all had use for my thieves.

Inywhatever hands and legs are pretty useful. The body is also the best fast cast option without having to go through escha kirin.

I dont use sulevia on my pld, but if i didnt have 3/5 souveran+1 id probably find use for body legs and feet.

I was talking to the guy above you... Some of the gear is best in slot for a lot of different purposes. I would consider it "top-tier" but he probably doesn't even play the game, just posts to complain.

But yeah, but for the most part, the ambuscade gear is up there. Not god tier, but easily on par with a good reisen aug or ruann abjuration.

Didn't defend that system, personally. Otherwise, a slot or two in each set being swap-worthy now and then doesn't make them all collectively awesome. I also make the claim with the weaknesses of most of them in mind. Jhakri, for example, offers no HP/MP and is low on Haste. I know some guys here love to rage about the ilvl stat vomit, but losing a few hundred HP in this AoE raephappy scene isn't hot when you realize that's often 20% or more of possible total.

Rest is just Draylo's usual SE knob slobbing.

Knob slobbing just for saying a good portion of the gear is best in slot or really good? You're nuts man. There are a lot of benefits to the different gear, and some being best in slot, that qualifies as "top tier" gear to me.

I didnt know mages were balking on Jhakri cause of the lack of haste. Im pretty sure there are all of zero mages who prioritize haste over nuking stats (notable exception to Death and its 3 minute base recast)

Any reason why your mages are in aoe range anyways?

I was gonna say that but figured he would be like GEO is in range!! Typically GEO wouldn't nuke if they are standing next to the mob anyway. BLM has manawall and is hardly ever in range due to enmity now. He is just grasping at straws to make his point but this is just one set out of all of them and its one of the best (Jhakri).

My litmus test involves a mix of accessibility and efficacy. If you're a BLU, Jhakri is your set. So, yeah, that missing haste matters if you're attempting to throw together a melee build as a new/returning player. Pragmatically, your usual PUG isn't going to want a sparks BLU because they literally won't have the ACC needed for VD. If your suggestion, then, is that they bridge the gap with Taeon, I'd just humbly remind that the skirmish stone market is very likely dead on all servers but the big 2, and the ACC deficit doesn't really change all that much.

Yeah, you could just tell them to solo easy modes, but this just takes us back to worries of congestion alongside how poorly those difficulties actually reward a clear. A full NQ Jhakri BLU, running with the same example, will simply be scorned just as much as the sparks BLU. Ironically, one of the most significant boosts a BLU can achieve here is from an augmented cape with the ACC and DEX choices.

In the end, it's just the usual "You have to have beat the content to participate in it!" catch 22 that goes on in MMOs. If you're someone who's kept recent and has a solid group to run content with, acquisition of these sets or those from harder content is probably a non-issue. Yet, when I stop to consider you probably won't be taking a full Jhakri BLU to late-Escha NMs, I can't help but feel the effort:reward ratios are a bit off kilter.

Factoring in the time exclusivity and Ambuscade being more difficult to find groups for the later you get into a month are some factors I attempted to address earlier. But, ya know, I don't play the game or whatever. Perspective is a funny thing like that. Meanwhile, if you've ever thought, "I hate running this shit so much, especially collecting the KI..." then I actually do have your interests in mind with the concern.
