I got the same feeling from the English transcript, that there will only be one and not 8. Makes sense if you think about it since it is intended to combat the bitchstorm over Kupo Shield, which affects all crafts.
My predictions:
- Since they compare directly to Relics, and didn't mention mythics/empyrean/aeonics, the process will probably start with some sort of "gather x amount of y item" with the items varying between stages and/or crafts.
- Will require massive amount of GP in order to finish. Makes sense due to the timing of the new increase to GP daily caps. I'm thinking ~5mil, but maybe as much as 10mil. ><;; SE loves their grindy timesinks after all.
- Won't be too surprised if there are some craft-specific quests involved in the earliest stages, then after 1-2 stages converge onto a central questline.
- All crafting skill +3~+5. Anything less and people will continue to complain due to how skill directly affects HQ tiers. Too much more and they will complain that everyone can HQ too much now. lol orz
Not sure what other stats would be on it besides the currently available crafting mods, or how much success+/mat_loss-/HQ+/skillup+ would be required to make it worthwhile... Maybe they will give up and make the buffs "II" versions so we can actually hardcap 100% on things XD It would be nice to never break a 8cap synth when I'm 100+ lvls over it. <,< Seriously though, what would it have to have in order to be considered "worthwhile" of 3-6mon of solid effort?
Well there's other thoughts too. Like even while enjoying the low prices and not crafting you can still be angry that some players can effectively just print money. Or like only limited number on server so it is only lowering the stuff you already got/are that craft and not the other stuff you want lol
XD I was merely referencing the fact that I have seen nothing but complaints over the Kupo Shield. And lots of complaints. Lots and lots of them...
I agree wholeheartedly that there are issues w/ the KS, primarily the method of obtaining one, and I am in no way saying the complaints are not justified (at least on some level.) Seems that SE agrees that it might've been a not-so-good idea, hence, we get crafter relic shield XD
Ya know, assuming that they don't bother creating a new stat for it, and it ends up a buffed up Orvail Ring w/ +skill, what kind of values would it need as a minimum to be considered "worth the effort" assuming a 4.5 month minimum build-time?
Can really only call it "printing money" if they are selling to NPC vendors. XD Value of any product is decided by the buyers, not the seller.
(And yes, I know what you are saying, just being a smartass lol)
But at the same time, it directly fucks with others.
If a voodoo synth costs 1m from start to finish and its t2able with shield, each voodoo piece will cost the player with the shield an average of 4m and will cost an average of 16m for the player without the shield.
The player without the shield has no chance of entering that market.
This only holds if the voodoo pieces 'cost' gil, but if the market was able to move them quickly (IE, farming up the mats for it and all four paths of a voodoo item are worth making, aka if every set was like Apogee), then each NQ would still be profitable and sellable.
At that point you can still enter the market, selling mostly NQs.
Currently however my voodoo NQs take weeks to sell because no one cares about them, so its basically a loss.
Generally farming materials isn't done to save money, but just cause there would be no supply otherwise lol. Very rarely does opportunity cost allow farming mats to be worth the time gil-wise
Nothing peeves me more than "I can save X by farming Y"
I hate it most when they work it into their gil making compared to others... well if I farm everything for 2 hours I can make pure profit on this craft at like 1 million a synth that only takes 30 seconds!!!! 1 mil in 30 seconds clearly beats farming Y for 10 mil an hour right?
some ANNM too i believe
This is true. This was back when a ton of synth items were ridiculously rare and put a bunch on ANNM... of course the droprates were still shit 1500-3000 allied notes just to do the fight for shit droprate is pretty meh but yeah it's another way to get them and back when it was made and people and these things sold for tons of gil/people were excited over the augments it actually raised supply a bit
Oh man looks like the devs confirming we finally getting magic pot mount!!!
So I am hearing from the JP side that to upgrade the af, relic, and empy armor, you will need to spend merit points. And not just a few but 2000 for head, 5000 for body, etc
